He seems to be wearing a breastplate and vambraces in this screenshot. Granted, it seems lighter than expected from a frontliner, but it's something.

Nor briefs. :P Though I do agree, it would be nice to see a commitment to darker-- grittier-- and more realistic! carried out.

EDIT: Nice catch, Xewaka!

The moment Isabela was presented, we knew any pretense of realism had its heart ripped out in a sacrifice to the altar of false coolness.

False coolness indeed. More like facepalm inducing.

Oi. Pseudocognition's art is cheating.

Besides, as I previously said: I don't mind that outfit for when chillin' out. I do mind it when battling heads-on.

I like Fenris's armor, it's a bit clothy but it's nice, I hope he can keep people at bay with his twohander though.

It's all sexy-times until somebody gets a dagger in the blouse.

Whereas I think the outfit is a bad outfit because of the shirt-skirt. I don't even know how to describe that thing. I've always disliked the faux realism that goes on in RPGs.

At any rate, I still think the outfit is looks good... just from the non-panty shot angles. It like it a lot less ever since I saw the thong.

*Joins debate late*

I must confess to loving total control over a companion's fashion sense which Isabela clearly lacks.

Seriously, the way some of you harp on you'd think Isabela's lack of pants completely ruins her character for you. It's a purely trivial matter. As long as she is well written (and we know she will be) and efficient in combat then her pantlessness shouldn't be *THIS* big a deal.

This! I am fine with skimpy outfits... but not in battle. I mean pants, for the love of Andraste, pants. I would also accept a kilt.

Characters gain appeal through their appearance, I'll use Mass Effect 2's static companion outfits as my example, would Miranda really have been the same if she didn't wear the skin tight white/black outfit, not really. It helps make that character who they are, like from what I've seen of Isabella, the way she looks is really going to help define her character.

I don't think it ruins her character. It's just silly. Like if she wore giant bunny ears instead of a bandanna, or wore giant clown shoes.

It's more comical than anything.

Ehh, it kind of does, for me, though. In the real world, it would be a pretty clear indication that I can't take her seriously as a warrior. And that kind of carries over into gaming.

The only thing that catsuit helped define on Miranda was her ass.

While I agree with your premise, I disagree with your example.  Miranda's character and her outfit don't really fit to me.

Just to clarify, I don't think the outfit is a bad outfit in battle. I think it's a silly outfit. Put another way - I don't think armour is neccesary, required or even part of what it takes to have an aesthetically pleasing game. I'm totally against realism in any video-game.

...Just to clarifying to make sure you're really agreeing with me. :P

*opens mouth*

*shuts it*

>_>

Let's just say I hate that outfit and love Miranda and that outfit actually makes little sense when you learn about her character.

It's like someone missed the note that Miranda was really self-concious about her manufactured looks instead of using them as a weapon.

It was basically... someone misplaced the Morrigan script or something for the art team.
