I could counter that dude would be an idiot for killing them.

Why would you not brag about releasing the Zerg that almost overran the galaxy?

"I am so badass, I have rachni for pets"

Mass Effect 3 "Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying
machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander
Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to
rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to
take back the Earth."

Yes i think we will need Rachni for this mission

remember folks, we found out that the rachni were under the control of the reapers when they attacked(via asari in me2).

Yep, I predict more rachni reaper mind control in ME3, because it'd be lame if paragons didn't have any repercussions for releasing them.

Correction; we found out the Rachni claim to have been under the control of the Reapers.  I can claim a great many things it doesn't make them true.

Remember, the more a man says you can trust him the less you should.

I do not understand. Why trust humans more than Rachni? What exactly makes one more trustworthy than the other?

What was that Legion quote? It was something like "Don't treat one alien species the exact same way as you'd treat another, it'd be racist to do so"
Rachni can colonize a planet in a few weeks, do you really think a species who can increase its numbers that fast isn't going to have factions rise up and seek revenge for their past genocide.
Just because the rachni queen promised peace  doesn't mean others will do so.

So you would damn an entire species because the possibility a rogue group would try to take over the galaxy? Guess humans should have kept Cerberus under control.

You say an entire species.
I say one individual.

(what is your display pic meant to be? I'm thinking a naked Sangheili?)

One species, one person, either way, its not nice to kill someone for the deads of their parents.

(You are very perceptive.)

So that's a green light to kill the Illusive Man?

Because we have experience dealing with humans, we understand their behaviour, know their tells, and are able to gauge what they're capable of.  We can't make the same claim with Rachni, or any alien species for that matter.  We're still gauging them and as such can afford to trust them less.

It's similar to why you trust long time friends but not strangers.  You know your friends, from experience you know how far you can trust them and with what.  Strangers do not have this luxury and as such must earn your trust.

Edit to add:

I did not think about it that way. Thank you for enlightening me. I will have to give this some more thought.

Isn't killing the rachni especially prudent if they did what they did due to mind control? If they had attacked us for rational reasons (fear of the unknown, a growing need for resources or what ever) then those reasons might not be there anymore. At the very least there would be new factors for them to consider (reapers) and they could potentially be an ally. If they attacked us simply because they were brainwashed then there's nothing to say they won't be mind controlled again. Their hive mind intelligence could make them extra susceptible to it.

So, I'm guessing no survivors at Zhu's Hope?

The Galaxy is a better place without the Rachni. Ask any Krogan you know.

Ok kids, calm down, we will find out soon enough what will happen. And if we don't, I say we 'sic' the rachni on Bioware.
