I am currently recruiting co-writers, builders, and scripters for a heavy story/roleplaying driven DM-run world.  The campaign will have players traveling throughout five entire countries and will allow players to join several factions each with their own benefits.  Players will participate in everything from cases of political intrigue, to resistance activities, to full-scale warfare.  Not only will players be able to have significant impact on the story, but key events are specially designed to put morality to the test and challenge characters (and their players) on multiple levels.

Here is the introduction which sets up the events prior to the start of the campaign:

Welcome to the Dragon Isles, a land born from ancient magics at the hands of a young mage. Shunned by the gods, this land has lived in peaceful isolation, protected by a magical barrier defended by celestial guardians who the inhabitants now worship as gods themselves.

In the early days Khaira, Goddess of Darkness proposed to the other gods the idea of bringing down the barrier so that they might join the Gods of Faeruhn as equals and thus gain more power. Myra, guardian of the barrier however disagreed and saw only distruction in the isle's future if such a thing were ever allowed to transpire. Furious at being kept in what might as well be a prison to her, Khaira rallied Yarin (War), Daius (Illusion), Voldaris (Chaos), and Nepthia (Disease) to her side and attempted to bring down the barrier herself. All out war soon followed.

Fighting lasted months, with neither side gaining an advantage. It was at this point where Khaira decided it was time to play dirty. With the aid of Yarin, a demonblade known as "Leviathan, Slayer of Gods" was forged. Leviathan was a living sword, in a sense that the longer the blade existed, the more powerful it would become (Though the actual speed of growth is quite slow). The tide quickly turned as Myra's forces fled at the presence of the sword. In a last ditch effort to stop Khaira's forces and protect the barrier, Myra authorized the unthinkable...

Using all of their combined powers, and the body of a captured arch devil, Myra and the other gods created their own ultimate weapon, naming it Sovereign and set their new creation upon Kaihra's army. It was a masterpiece in the eyes of Myra, part god, part demon, with both sides working in perfect harmony. Kaihra, sensing the danger of the beast, sent Yarin into battle to slay Sovereign with the sword Leviathan. However with Leviathan still in its infant state, it was not powerful enough to stop Sovereign. Yarin himself fled, only barely escapping death. Leviathan however would be forever lost to the mortal realm.

With Leviathan out of the picture, Sovereign turned its attention back to Khaira's forces. However a dark power that Myra had thought permanently sealed within the beast was beginning to awaken and consume the demonic deity. Sovereign turned on its masters and after destroying most of the realm of gods (and both armies), Sovereign withdrew to the dark abyss to begin forging his own army of darkness. Sovereign had but one goal, to obtain the sword Leviathan and to use it to kill the mighty gods of Faerun, one by one thus becomming the one true god.
Years later, at the beginning of the Empire's golden age, the sword will be found, and a seemingly ancient battle will finally be brought to a close....

The Official Campaign as it currently stands is at 126 sessions and counting.  A direct sequel is already planned but I am not planning on beginning work on it until the current campaign is completed and polished.
