When doing the Warden's Peak quest you stumble across four chapters of Warden's Peak history that talks of the man who had the Castle built, and that eventually he went off to Orzammar as all wardens do to fight darkspawn to the death instead of going insane from the darkspawn taint. It mentions that he didn't have the sword when he left for orzammar but then there is a quote from a young warden that says this guy grabbed him by the shoulder's, looked him in the eye and said "blah blah blah" about coming to him and speaking the warden's oath when the shadows come. I always assumed that this meant you could find his tomb or some such in orzamar deep roads and you could speak the oath and his famous sword's location would be revealed.Posted Image

Anyone draw that conlusion also, or am I thinking too hard?

Naw, but that was some pretty damn nice thinking of you there, seeing as how there's a tomb of another "topsider" there.

No, what you must do I believe is read a bunch of logs and books and clues in the wardens keep, and when you've done all that, you speak the oath to a painting which reveals a hidden cache, containing the sword. Sadly, if you've already finished the keep, you can't go back in there. Don't worry though, it's good but not super duper and it can easily be replaced.

I really do wish there would be a complete named set for the Warden Commander armor since I find it the best looking armor in the game.

There are pieces of the Topsider Sword scattered around the Dark Roads. Is that what you are referring to?

Wow, I missed that. Next playthrough I'll spend more time in the tunnels.

Heh, nothing "mysterious" here. I assume you're referring to The History of Soldier's Peak: Chapter 4 specifically, which mentions the sword, Asturian's Might? As far as I can tell you'll get it in Soldier's Peak, I've gotten it so far with every playthrough. It's a steel longsword with 8.40 damage, +2 damage, +1 armor penetration, weakens nearby darkspawn and has 1 rune slot.

He kept the sword in the keep for his descendents... you have to speak the oath of the warden at the right place within the keep.

there is a pretty nice sword you get from doing exactly this. I forget the name of it, but you find different pieces of the sword in the tunnels, then take them to a warriors grave and it puts it together. Never read into it as much as you though, very cool to know the story behind it

Yeah you get his sword by speaking the Wardens Oath at Asturiens Portrait after having found the 4 pieces of History concerning Soldier's Peak. And its a damn fine sword.

like most equipment in the game Asturian's Might is a leveled item, material quality wise. ive found it as a silverite sword.

next playthrough maybe... i have found several of the peices of the sword in the deep roads though and as iam still there, i will be sure to look for the rest. I guess the portrait does seem rather obvious now since the quote said "come to me" and since there was that blatant line about "he didn't seem to have it with him when he left..." it makes a lot more sense that it would still be at the keep.

Thanks all!

There are several pieces of lore in the deeps that refer to a "topsider" warrior that was fighting darkspawn with the dwarves and they made him sound like a pretty bad@ss dude so hopefully the "topsider" sword does the lore justice.

I use 3 different instruments of death, this sword is one of them.
