Does anyone know where I can download the official patches for TOB? I cannot find them in the official bioware page. Thanks in advance!

Has Bioware stopped hosting the patches? That's weird.

Chosen of Mystra has all the official Infity Engine games patches put neatly together on this page.

It looks like Bioware is completely swallowed by EA and only current titles are supported?

*edit: miss_daydream put up the right link in this post further below (at the bottom of her post, linking to Sorceror's Place)

Maybe sticky the link to this patches collection? (Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2 and Planescape Torment patches are all there).

Gods...

I just took a look at the new official BioWare website... it's not just the patches and tech support pages that have up and vanished... all the old forums are completely gone.

I can only assume they'll re-instate the links to the patches once everything is up and running smoothly. As for the old forums, if they are gone... words cannot describe what a waste that would be.

The forums aren't gone, they just revamped the home page to point people to the new ones so they don't get confused. Visit here for the forum index. That doesn't mean that they'll stick around, though.

Ah, I spoke too soon. Apologies.

Let's hope they stick around for a while, yet. There's such a wealth of information and history in those old forums.

Does anyone know if I do not need the Official Patches if I have the 5 disc Baldur's Gate II The Collection release?

I believe you DO need the Official Patches and the G3 Fixpack is recommended as well.

Seems I chose a lovely time to reinstall BG2, guess I'll just wait and see if the patches come back up.

The link in my post above has copies of the official patches, just not on the official site (and thank Chosen of Mystra for backing them up well in advance).

But the Choosen of Mystra site does not have patch 5512 for Tales of the Sword Coast. I've been going crazy trying to find that patch so I can install the Big World Project mega mod. Plus the download links on Choosen of Mystra go to the now empty baldur's gate patch page.

Hello all and thanks for the responses. I contacted Bigipub who I bought The Collection from via a popular online retailer. There was a little note in the box saying to contact them for technical support. They said The Collection has all the patches. Still, I wouldn't mind if someone could confirm that. Also, I do plan on installing the Fixpack.

Thanks for the advice silenceall.

Son of Imoen, i tried that link in your post and had the same results as JRVthatsME.

Thanks much for the replies all the same.

It looks like fileplanet might have all the most recent patches. I also got a few results from fileshack, so it looks like the patches are still out there but it might take some searching.

JRVthatsME, if you can't find the TotSC 5512 patch (fileplanet doesn't seem to have it but other sites might) and need the UK version then PM me and I'll email it to you.

Sosoft, sorry not sure whether your version needs patching. But I did come across this thread from the old forums. I think that's about your version? That suggests you do need the patch but it's included on the ToB disc.

EDIT: sorcerers.net does have the patches for download. Including the TotSC 5512 for all regions, from the looks of it. BG1 and TotSC. SoA and ToB.

Thanks miss_daydream. That post was probably spot on for me. Now I am just a little concerned if it is the patch ending in 98 or 99. I have been reading on a lot of websites not to install the 99 one as it gave a number of mods problems. If I find out anything further I will report back.

Oh, and just to summarize, according to that thread miss_daydream recommended. The patches are included on the fifth disc which is the ToB disc, (at least it was the 5th disc in my version of The Collection) but they may have to be manually installed. I might check with Bigipub again also to see what they have to say. Now, however, I have to go shopping for presents!

edit: the patch included on the discs is the one ending in 98

Sorry for my mistake about Chosen of Mystra. It linked to a CoM download page, so I thought it was the patches, it was just the link to bioware though. Glad to see that sorcerer's place does have the patches.

Again, my apologies.

Thanks Son of Imoen. I really do hope I get to play this game one day!

Meanwhile, I am downloading everything I can so I will be ready. I found the ToB patches at Sorcerer's Place myself earlier today.

For anyone interested, here is the address:

http://www.sorcerers.../index_misc.php

Just copy and paste that into the address bar.

Hi all,
Again, thanks to miss-daydream for pointing me to that thread about patches and The Collection edition of SoA and ToB. I e-mailed the publisher and they said this,

"According to the company, it has all the latest patches, so you should be good to go. I can't recall, but look on the discs for any "patch" folders, if they are NOT there, then the versions of install files are up to date!"

I looked at the ToB disc and found a folder marked BGII TOB Patches and inside that folder was: bg2tob_26498_eng

So they are there, just have to install them ourselves I guess :)

Oh well, back to collecting other mods.

Thanks for all the information! I was worried that I'd never get to my old information...

Glad to see the patches are still out there.
