My topic is about "insanity" it's supposed to be hard, unreasonable, a challenge where people actually have to think ..not some sand box mode.Mesina2 wrote...

I agree. The ONLY reason I dont play as the Soldier is because I hate seeing all those weapons on my back. I support being able to choose only 2 weapons for a mission in addition to a heavy weapon. I would love to only take with me a Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle or just a Assault Rifle and a Pistol.HexHammer wrote...
I don't really like the old school FPS aspect having a weapon for all occations, insanity is supposed to be hard, be tactical and not being n00bish. Specially as a soldier myself, it seems kinds of lame being able to carry so many weapons around maxed out with ammo which means it's HEAVY. I liked CounterStrike back in the days only allowing 2 weapons and no more, a rifle/submachine gun and a pistol, so I sorely wish that insanity should be like.
I play as a Vanguard with Assault Rifle Training because I love the Mattock and I love dashing into people.
Then Soldier class would be pointless.

NOOOOO I WANT MORE GUNNNNNNSSSSSS!!!!
I'm a gun person! Soldiers are for gun people! I think there's alot of gun people in gaming and we need a gun people class that should be the ultimate in gunnery of all types to satisfy our gun needs! If you want less guns and that other stuff invent a new class
If only I knew how to post a silly meme!
What's a meme? And what say you of the necesity of an all gun class for all gun people?

I will chill when you do not make wild assumptions about the points i am making and then stick to them adamantly no matter how wrong you are.
Anyone doing that isn't worth talking to since you can never talk to them, only at them.
Sooooo.... you concede that I would've won the pissing contest?

Maybe you have beef with the linear progression and repetitive AI.

Mods. I want my soldier to be a soldier, not a cowboy.

Anyway, special operations operators do go on long term operations behind enemy lines - when they do that they carry a crapload of weight. 60 lbs, 70 lbs, 100 lbs, take your pick there is no limit to what these guys do. They carry what they need to for the operation to succeed. This is a futuristic science fiction universe, composite weapons made of lighter alloys. If Shepard can lift an I-Beam and toss it aside thanks to his genetic engineering (that all alliance marines have) and muscle weaves (thanks to cerberus)... a counterstrike soldier simply isnt as strong as shepard.
the soldier class is popular because a lot of players like being able to play mass effect as a more conventional shooter: armor, health, and guns guns guns. in my original post i already gave a solution (just use the ar and shotgun or pistol or what have you and limit the upgrades you choose to bring with). right now i'm doing a playthrough as a vg on insanity with no help from dlc (which is a big handicap considering i'm not using the arc projector, phalanx, mattock, eviscerator, locust, and kestrel armor).
finally if insanity STILL is too easy, reroll a level 30. soldier depends so much on weapons that starting out with all enemies at 30 will be a handicap since no weapon of yours will be upgraded. took me three hours to complete the platform section of the collector ship as a vanguard - felt like i was learning to play on insanity all over again.
there - reasons why shepard is stronger, why he can carry those weapons, and how to make insanity more difficult. if you get really desperate and are finding a level 30 harbinger too easy- attempt to punch him to death, that should make things challenging

To really make a good difficult challenging game the difficulty level should improve enemy ai so they actually start trying to outmanuever you and force you to use the battlespace more effectively through the use of tactics / planning.
Altering classes is not the answer here that just violates the premises of the game.

the enemies in me3 do come with ai, its one of the reasons ign elected it as its GoTY. it isn't the same as going toe to toe with another person but hey - if harbinger has you close to death 9 times out of 10 he'll stop shooting and walk right up to you and close in for the kill. enemies will attempt to flank and... and me spending anymore time on these forums while waiting for the vga's isnt doing anything - im out, see you all in the post vga thread where we'll be squealing like justin bieber fangirls over all the awards ME2 won and BW's newest reveals of me3

The Elite AI in the original Halo had more things going for it.

Some classes have less weapons. The soldier carries the most. I think Adept carries only 3.
You have the heavy weapon forced on you, an SMG and a pistol plus one of whatever you want. I picked the assualt riffe. However on insanity I stuck to the pistol and the SMG. It's a lot better than when ME1 came out and all an adept had then was a pistol....

I did notice Harbinger is more aggressive on higher difficulties, puts more pressure on you as opposed to hanging back as usuall. So ther is ai, but it seems to me like the MAIN factor that changes between difficulties is still just enemy strenght vs yours.
It's understandable, its way easier to up their stats and lower yours than program an advanced intricate adaptive AI that can compete with you tactically, plus I'm not even sure what AI capabilities are these days. But the further the equation moves in the AI direction vs stats the more difficult difficult will get and the more engaging the game will be in general...
As for me, I'll be here posting my bs right up till it starts!

The SMG breaks down shields very quickly. It also breaks the orange tubes on the end boss that fastest. I've taken down 3 tubes in one try with an SMG.AlexMBrennan wrote...
Why would Shepard pick a SMG? In RL that's basically an assault rifle that fires less powerful pistol rounds? The only reason would be manoeuvrability in close quarters, but I suspect that there'll be carbines in ME future as well. Oh, and he's got a shotgun.

I made a Barak 'The Shepard' video. It's the Suicide Mission.

I see that his ear clips through the Kuwashii Visor.
Does that happen with helmets?

My idea: You can carry 2 weapons and a pistol backup. You are able to bring any 4 powers with you.
Custom classes for all. I hate rigid classes that make no sense...
I like my idea better..
