Koylat krios may take his fathers place if you don't get a cure for thane in mass effect 3 much like morinth can take samara's place if you choose to kill her.
shiala-shes green and i really liked her if you let her live i think she should be a comapnion
but i have another theory i think the feros suriviors may have gained special abilities and you might have to track them down to aid in the coming battle with the reapers as shiala said they went their seperate ways after recovering.
Kal reegar-who dosen't like adam baldwin i have to say id pick him over tali any day he was a really interesting character and i would like him as a companion.
common who dosen't want a Hanar counciler on the normandy called Jerry sprigus sorting out all our relationship problems and on the plus side he could could restrain alll the guests with his many arms.
and the number 1 compaion i want is Paul Grayson form mass effect accension he was really interesting and cool.

And besides that the whole point of Thane's loyalty mission was to stop Kolyat from fighting like his father, way to go take a dump on his father's grave huh?
She can die and is a minor NPC they won't waste resources making her a full companion.shiala-shes green and i really liked her if you let her live i think she should be a comapnion
I believe she'll be a potential fling (ala consort) for paragons who saved her.
Again, he's a minor NPC who can die.Kal reegar-who dosen't like adam baldwin i have to say id pick him over tali any day he was a really interesting character and i would like him as a companion.

Wrex
Garrus
Tali
Liara
Miranda
Jacob
Thane
Samara
Legion
Zaeed
Kasumi
Jack
Mordin
Grunt
A vorcha
A batarian
A prothean
A human male
A human female
Most NPCs would be great to have as squadmates but the originals and a couple of fresh faces come first

Protheans! That's quite an interesting idea. The ones on Ilos were in cryostasis until their power supply ran out, but it's conceivable that others were better had better resources.

I think it will be exactly the opposite. Earth is off-limits 'cause the reapers, we'll have to unite the galactic community against them. This means more aliens, not less.
And I'm totally agree for a Prothean squadmate!

You'll get the LI's back. And we might get Wrex and Legion back. Everyone else will be cameoed. Except this.

This. Plus Mordin as medical officer with Chackwas and a pair of unavoidable new entries.

I think you're describing what most of us here would take as the minimum acceptable treatment (leaving ME1 and ME2 LIs to anything less than full teammate status would doubtlessly lead into riots).Slidell505 wrote...

Honestly, I hope that Bioware shoot a lot higher and instead of going for the "minimum acceptable" standard, they'll actually give us the kitchen sink. Everybody who was kept alive comes back, a couple of new additions, and if you messed up, intentionally or not, you'll start with a smaller selection (considering the size of the ground team, not necessarily a disadvantage). New gamers with no ME2 endgame save get a fixed number of starting characters, picked randomly from potential ME2 teammates. Problem solved.

I really, really, really want Legion back, but given that he isn't mandatory to recruit in ME2, I don't know what the chances are. Rumor has it that there was a lot more planned for the character in ME2 before he got pushed back to almost the end of the game, so hopefully they'll decide to use all those ideas for ME3, but I wonder how many people even have him in their saves.

It's easier with Ash/Kaidan because they've always treated them as interchangeable, much to the chagrin of their fans I might add, but it means BW has already started down the path whereby the VAs record pretty much identical lines (give or take a few personality-led plot points) and makes it easier for either of them to make a return.
For any of the other ME2 crew to come back as full squad members it would mean an awful lot of work on BW's part to include the huge amount of individual dialogue and animations and personal scenes for people who in many playthroughs could already be dead. That's not to say BW won't do it though, and in fact they might well, just to show us how awesome they are.
If they do do it, I think they'll be held in high regard by all of us.

That isn't necessarily a terrible thing though. If it's written right, her role could be used frequently (maybe the base is our base of operations in the game?) and still have a lead role.

Or just make some of them canonical. That's very much the thing too. ME3 newcomers could take any ending of ME2 as default. I don't see why Bioware should create a brand new beginning that screws the continuity of those who have played ME1 and/or ME2.
Give ME3 newcomers Miranda, Thane, Garrus, Legion, Jack and Ash/Kaidan and the ME3 newcomers won't be wishing for anything else
Give me new male 1, new female 1, new male 2, new krogan 1, new quarian 1, new asari 1 and new salarian and I will be wishing for everything else.
If they do do it, I think they'll be held in high regard by all of us.
And on the contrary if they don't do it I will hold them in low regard. I don't except anything but continuity and choices. Making my old squadmates statistics definitely isn't either

I doubt that since 70% of the squad is already human. I would not be suprised if Earth is wiped out in the opening scene in ME3, and the rest of the game istrying to stop the Reapers from wiping out other worlds.
