I wouldn't trust Kolyat with washing the SR-2's toilets.
It would probably end up in a hostage situation, with C-SEC surrounding the whole bathroom.

if he takes the toliet as a hostage, I'm going to make this personal, one thing is a xenophobic politician but taking the toilet? Nobody messes with Shepard's throne!!

Most NPCs would be great to have as squadmates but the originals and a couple of fresh faces come first
You'll get the LI's back. And we might get Wrex and Legion back. Everyone else will be cameoed. Except this.
NOOOOO! Garrus has to be there too.

Ok this is purely based on how my Mass Effect 2 play though when...
Samara: She said she would leave after the Collector Base was destroyed. I doubt she's a party member.
Thane: Is dead. Plus he is sick so I'm going to say no.
Jack: I get the feeling Jack doesn't care enough to stay.
Kasumi & Zaeed: Both DLC characters so I doubt it. I wish Kasumi would stay though.
"Earth is burning, Reapers are coming"...
I very much doubt Jack or Samara would just walk away. Who says Thane is dead yet? He did just fine in ME2 and this is still a suicide mission. Leaving Kasumi or Zaeed out would make the DLCs that much less worth it

1. Liara (she may not join at the beginning, but she will at some point)
2. Kaidan/Ashley
I'm guessing all other squadmates will be new characters. All the LI's from ME1 and 2 will be in the game, but won't be squadmates. Which will cause a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth.

As long as they bring back at least half of the former squadmates and then add new ones I MAY not go into complete nerd rage. I find the idea of recruiting a brand new team (again) to be annoying. And those that don't come back as followers better play some role, hopefully more than just a 1 minute cameo.
Think about it. They could all be dead, except for Liara and Kaidan/Ashley. I find it hard to believe that BioWare is going to devote a bunch of disk space to characters who might not even appear in the game.
Prepare for nerd rage.

Fun fact: the avergae player only lost 14% (between one and two) of their squadmates (Bioware data), and according to data I compiled from forumer-submitted saves, the average survival rate for any given squadmate is 85%. Therefore, assuming the default save counts most squadmates as being alive (with possibly two or three dead), the vast majority of players would not be missing out on this content, with only a one-squadmate bonus to those that saved everyone, which really doesn't take up that much disk space. People with massive casualties would be the only ones "missing out," but it takes an effort to kill off most of your squad, so they probably did it on purpose.clennon8 wrote...

Not trying to prove you wrong here; just saying that it could go either way.

I would be rather surprised if more than 14% killed Wrex in ME1 (and he was the most popular ME1 squaddie...cameo land)

They still have to account for the possibility, though, and provide alternative squadmates if necessary. That's a lot of characters, and a LOT of disk space. I just don't see how they can do it, UNLESS they spread the game across 3 disks.
Don't get me wrong; I hope you're right. I want to be able to recruit Garrus, Tali, and Miranda, in particular. Kasumi and Zaeed would be nice, too. And Samara and Thane I guess. Don't really care about Jacob, Grunt and Jack.

One cameo isn't really enough precedent to say how things are going to turn out.Barquiel wrote...

I think so.
They had to limit his role in ME2 because he could be dead (http://www.joystiq.c...-mass-effect-2/). They have the same problem with all ME2 squaddies.

And should players who got part of their squad killed in ME2 not pay a price in ME3? It's contradictory to BW's montra of choice and consequence if players get a mulligan in this and would degrade the ME2 companions to nothing more than henchmen fodder IMO. BW can take ME3 in any direction they want but atleast some of the companions have to return or else I will be severely dissapointed.
