It seems like the return of Wrex would make many, perhaps even most, ME fans more willing to buy the game so I think there is high potential profit for BioWare to include Wrex as a squadmate. The same goes for every surviving squadmate from ME1 it seems when I think about it.

I would be rather surprised if more than 14% killed Wrex in ME1 (and he was the most popular ME1 squaddie...cameo land)

One cameo isn't really enough precedent to say how things are going to turn out.

I think so.

They had to limit his role in ME2 because he could be dead (http://www.joystiq.c...-mass-effect-2/). They have the same problem with all ME2 squaddies.

Yet they still couldn't do any better with Wrex? IMO the final insult was how similiar the name of the other possible leader was. 2 different letters in name - about 2 meaningfully different lines

*Imagining everyone getting the same treatment as Wrex/VirmireS, except now it's about 12 times worse because there's more people to account". It is really depressing how little the decisions matter

There was actually a big difference between Wrex and Wreav. Not only their dialogue, but also that of some of the other Krogans in Clan Urdnot. The whole poilitical aim of Clan Urdnot is different and I don't think Shepard will have much of a Krogan army at his disposal if he disposed of Wrex, since Wreav isn't a big picture guy and probably won't join the fight against the Reapers until the Reapers reap Tuchanka.

Squad/Role

Mordin's to valuable as a scientist to risk on a front line mission. I imagine he'll be an npc on the Normandy, researching new toys to hand all the good little, reaper slaying, boys and girls.

After hearing his comments while aboard the Collector ship I'm inclined to think Zaeed will stick around. If he's not a squad mate I expect he'll be putting together a Merc unit(Composed of humans) to assist earth.

Zaeed: "Shepard, you concentrate on finding a way to win. We'll concentrate on making the Reapers pay for every inch they take."

Kasumi loves kids and I don't think she'll sit on her rear while earth burns.

I honestly wouldn't mind the remaining companions from the last two games combined. And I would want them in all the missions rather than having break time on the Normandy. Hearing them in other parts of the battlefield via communication would be nice rather than having to alternate squads.

Maybe looking at them as squadmates is the wrong idea. Instead of Shepard the squad commander ME3 may have him as more of the Marshal of the Combined Forces type with the squaddies who survived acting as squad commanders for their respective combat types/races. Shepard comes out to play for the important critical missions.

Probably won't be this way but IMHO it'd make more sense given the role Shepard's got towards the end of ME2.

I think it would be intresting if a new race was introduced who could bring more ships to the upcoming greatest space battle in gaming history!

Bioware has stated that they'll have way more wiggle room since this is the final entry into the series so I think your choices in ME2 will be very important. Not Like ME1 where your choices either resulted in an email or a cameo. And your team in ME2 was the best team in the galaxy. They aren't gonna have you downgrade to face the reapers so Im sure most squadies will return

I'd love to see everyone come back, provided you saved them all. I definitely see Kaiden/Ashley returning, as Earth is very important to them. Clearly Shepard is the best hope to save Earth, so I see them joining up, despite the past.

I would personally love to see a huge number of characters to choose squadmates from. I always feel like Ican't get enough information to learn from in the ME Universe!

Or better yet how about everyone of your past squadies fighting by your side as you destroy the Reapers.

I see your decision at the end of ME2 coming back to either be a salvation or the ruination of mankind. I think the idea of incorporating every decision throughout the games to play a big role is very important (, i.e Rachni elimination, the backing of Urdonot's, Saving the Council and who the Human Embassador is, etc., etc.)

I'd love for them to incorporate a comic-ish intro (which the doctors said will return) to change up your ME history, but implemented also for the XBOX as well. The ME series is phenomenal, but I don't want to play through ME1 and 2 all over again for the fourth time each just to get a differing result in the conclusion... just sayin'

Like many others, I would love to see the return of Wrex as a squad-mate. Most important for me, however, would be the return of Ashley/Kaidan. I always had Shepard romance Ashley in the first game and stayed loyal to her in the second. She's gotta come back for the third!!!

It's weird that people think that Kolyat will take Thane's place when the entire purpose of Thane's loyalty mission was to stop his son from becomming an assassin.

I'd like to see that with ALL the romance options. As a male that prefers the Femshep voice actor, I would love to have had Jack and Tali as a romance options.  Jacob and Garrus do not appeal. :D  (Although I did enjoy the Shephard/Thane path. I thought it was a beautiful story).

I doubt Bioware will make alternative characters available for every character out there since there is such a thing as budget. They will likely pick 2-4 of the most popular characters from ME2 and reintroduce them into ME3 in a way so that even newcomers will feel their appeal and not be completely confused. The rest will be new characters, new "Love Interests" and cameos or side-roles for previous characters.

As for who I want to return from ME1 and ME2 in order: Legion, Tali, Wrex, Garrus. Something tells me though that the companions from ME2 wont be back at all, considering they could all die at the end for the save and importing that save would mean you have no companions to recruit.

That or they would need to make duplicates, which again is a budget constraint which could be better allocated elsewhere. Sure alternate companions gives replayability but most players and most consumers will only play ME3 once or twice, the resources are better spent at making that FIRST experience more awesome. The dead characters could be retconned somehow sure, maybe they show up and it turns out they aren't dead at all.

I'd really like to have Aria as a squadie. She amuses me. I found her more interesting than Samara and Morinth.

I've got two playthroughs saved with deaths in the SM - in one Jack died, and in the other Thane died. I'm curious how that's going to be handled in ME3.

I know! How about an Elcor! Harrot as a new squadmate! ;)

More ladies. Especially a Turian female.
Overall I don't want anymore male humans. 1 more human female, the rest other races please.
Also the requirement for Human would be - NOT CRAZY mkay?

Also I hope ME2 full squad comes back. Liara, Wrex, Kaidan/Ashley - don't know, probably will get another "part" not as squad member, but someone who will help/give missions etc. I wish Liara was a squadmate but from LotSB DLC its clear that she has another job now.

I think we saw one (albeit dead).

Also, I've said it before, but if there is ANYONE to have on a squad in ME3, I'd want the last survivor of DC1938.

Eh, other paths than just an assassin. Clearly had chops in taking down a Krogan bodyguard like a punk. But overall I agree his father was trying to keep him from that life.

Yeah you saw one on the operating table in Tuchanka during Mordin's loyalty mission, but it's under a sheet so you can't see anything except for the fact that it is much smaller than a male.
