i hope if this class does come back, the warrior looks better than an transparent figure of himself with lucid eye balls and beard.
if anything i'd like the spirit/fade shroud/"beyond the veil" to look like this

for one thing i think it would at least look more in tone with the class description:
"Although spirit warriors employ magical abilities, they are not mages; instead, they flirt with inhabitants of the Fade who agree to augment mortal abilities in exchange for a glimpse of the physical world. Naturally, the Chantry's templars rarely acknowledge that distinction."

Now, did those warriors use bows a lot? No, I wouldn't say that. But then, my warriors are usually DW warriors, DPS machines. So if they have the chance to close with the enemy, and once they do, they put the bow away, turn on momentum, and kill.
I'd like to see some sort of ranged attack available for a warrior. Of course, I'd like the DW option back, too. I can love without the bow more easily than I can without the DW, but clearly, I'll have to live without both.
I'm interested to see what I get to replace those, and I hope it's something more than a "charge" ability.

Nothing against the game, well I guess so. The story never registered as pivotal, never gave me a reason to really CARE about any characters (where as mass effect does) hence while DA2 announcment and news came into being i've jumped into the hype. The story sounds a lot better with focusing on a central main character, gives is more.. cohession? centered? whatever. Not to mention that combat in DAO was boring as hell. I'm a console player. I don't have the money to invest in an expensive computer and I prefer analogue stick movement over anything else: I have more control. Keys would always lead me into killing myself in games.
In DAO it was press A to attack, and spam abilities when they recharged. Waiting all the while for a thing to die. It bored me to death, but I did beat the game. DA2 combat looks.. well FUN. Entertaining. So, yeah, I can't wait.

Never gave you reason to care about the characters!? Combat boring as hell?
Oh wait...you're a console gamer. Carry on.

I have no idea how you can complain about whether the warrior has gotten enough cool stuff
I can do so as easily as you complain about... whatever it is you're complaining about. Someone being interested in a game aspect that doesn't really interest you and doing so in a way in which you don't approve?
Of course, I haven't complained about warriors in this thread, or even commented on what cool stuff they may or may not have gotten, so perhaps you're just using the general 'you' when you hit the quote button and respond to me.
Well you are choosing selective quoting there for a start, I actually said 'seeing as we havn't seen what stuff they have yet' which is quite different. And no I wasn't complaining, if you can read my post and see that as a complaint even I'm not sure what I'm complaining about.
Maybe an example would help:
I don't have pets. You don't have pets. One day you say, "I have no idea how you let your dog run lose in the yard." I reply, "The same way you let your dog run lose. I don't have one."
Would you think express your confusion as to why I think you have a dog?
Yes, I know you're not complaining. Neither was I.
I added the extra bit at the end because I don't see how we can make a reasoned argument that any class is not getting enough of anything short of write ups by the press (the poor Mage class).
That's fine, but that's not what you said. What you said was, "Just feel it's a bit early to start worrying about one class getting more than another, especially in a single player RPG."
'Worry about' is not the same as 'make a reasoned argument.' Had you said that you didn't think anyone could make a reasoned argument at this point, I would have agreed with you.
And yes, I selectively quote. Does that bother you?

Nice - console gamer bashing. That's adding something to the discussion.
Now, why do people complain about "spamming abilities" in DAO and autoattacking while they recharge, while praising the DA2 system? I mean, you may think the abilities in DA2 are cooler, or the animations more awesome, but abilities do still have a cooldown, so you're going to have to autoattack while waiting for them to recharge, so you can, you know, spam them again.

It's free damage you can deal to the targets while they're closing in, without them being able to hit back. Having enemies already half dead by the time they reach you shortens the fights, means you take less damage during the melee phase and consequently require less healing -> less mana burnt, less downtime.leonia42 wrote...
It has little to do with enjoyment, I cannot really see how bows were USEFUL for warriors in Origins (..)
There's also number of fights with bosses who like to hit enemies in melee range (and are capable of damaging multiple targets in area around them) but are pretty weak against the ranged opponents. Or enemies in area filled with environmental traps, which also means it's plain easier to just shoot them from range rather than put up with extra damage caused by these traps.

If you dislike what someone is saying, it's far more easy to fling the verbal equivalent of poo at them than it is to engage them on any intellectual level. Natural selection works best when organisms of the same species have a wide range of responses to a stimulus.
Who knows?, it might turn out that the best way to deal with someone who has a different viewpoint is to smash them on the head with a rock and discussion is an evolutionary dead end.

I feel like my response should be read in the voice of Ted Nugent:
"That's just stupid. Fight like a man, get up close and take your licks."
But seriously, I play that way. I like to be tactically aggressive, sometimes reckless, because it forces me to adapt-on-the-fly. If I win every fight before it starts, it gets old fast. Even in strategy games like Total War or Paradox Interactive ones where I literally spend ten times as much time preparing for war as actually fighting it and actively seek to win before I even declare, the fights I don't expect and the ones that go poorly due to my own hubris and overconfidence are by far the most challenging and rewarding. So "dive in" is my philosophy, and one that isn't really served by having warriors use bows and plink away at approaching enemies. I would much rather charge to meet them, and I'm glad Charge is gonna let me do that.
Fortune favors the bold.

Anyway, i was just replying to comment what possible use warriors could have for bows in DAO. Certainly, if you start from position of "melee combat or bust" then no, there's no use for bows whatsoever. But for anyone more flexible in their approach these things do have use.

I hope you didn't just compare those two franchises. That would be fightin' words.
