The fact that London isn't dust could be for cinematics, but I think that they're merely using surgical strikes for their nefarious gain. They don't look to be interested soley in annihilation of everything.

The sniper is Australian. I'm sure of it. Everyone assumes he's British because he's in London but I'll eat my own hat if that's not an Australian accent.
Or maybe it's just the voice actor is Australian and attempting to put on a British accent...

Offer proof of your info. If you don't then it is no more correct then anyone else's theory. Also acting all high and mighty won't win you any friends or sympathy. It is better to be pleasant then smart.szkasypcze wrote...
it says exactly the same:
Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the earth.
It fits nicely to what I wrote. You can argue about details but in general I'm right. Once again....depending on who survived the suicide mission, you will be able to recruit a specific race or faction. You will have to choose which human colony to save and which to sacrifice; which colony of other races to save and which to sacrifice. You will not be required to save Earth, but this will affect the humanity position in the Galaxy. Now, you can manipulate with the major decissions of ME1 and ME2 and try to predict who will help you.
For example, if you spared the Rachni Queen, you will be able to get help from them. If you saved Wrex and the cure for the Genophage...If you killed the Council....and so on...
You don't have to belive that. Nevertheless it is true. I'm going to remeber you and in one year, when it turns out that I'm right, will stick it all in you mouth

That's most likely the case. Alot of people aren't British can't pull of an authentic British accent, and it ends up sounding like something else.
Speaking of, what's up with the Sam Worthington/Sean Bean guesses?
I kind of thought Sean Bean would sound a bit more husky? And if it is Sam Worthington, that'd be twice he voice acts a macho soldier in a videogame - which I hope it isn't him, I'm not a big fan.

Most people havent heard the (real) difference between English and Australian accents, so they can be forgiven for not being able to distinguish between the two.
You know what would be nice? If Shepard did die in ME2, then the sniper (refered to as Big Ben) was the main playable. Would be nice if an Aussie saved the galaxy instead of some generic sounding American.

I think you should eat your own hat, then. It doesn't sound like any Australian accent I've heard and I've lived here my entire life. I can accept that it could be a mix between Australian and English, but definitely not predominantly Australian. If the actor was going for Australian, he got it wrong.

And it definitely sounds like a British accent to me, and I've lived there all my life. Although it's not the stereotypical "More tea, Vicar?" one, it's still recognisably english.

And what kind of proof would that be?? I can't think of anything. Oh, yes... You would like me to send you the game itself. OK. No problem. I had a few extra copies somewhere here.....hmmm.....No, sorry. Must have sold them
I do not act high and almighty. It's you who receive my posts this way. And I do not know why I would need your sympathy. Maybe you should see the dictionary for that. Finally, yes. I would rather write something that makes sense and be judged like you did, than write stupidities and be pleasant.

Mars would seem the ideal place, but perhaps a little close. The Reapers would quite possibly merely fly over, eliminate us, then return to Earth.

I'm afraid you do come off very high and mighty, but from what I can gather, english isn't your first language, so perhaps you don't realise. Just to say, though, your choice of words comes off as very arrogant.

Well I think Reapers are kinda busy killing 11 billion people on Earth then to check out what's on Mars.

Ok, that seems good. Still though, we'd need to be careful at that proximity. I would prefer to be on the other side of the Charon relay were I Shepard.

It might suggest that the Reaper attack is restricted to London, at least to start with.

i don't know if this has been posted already, but the OP mentioned a link to an alburn by The Clash - they had a hit record in the late 70's (possibly early 80's) called "London Calling".

In trailer that sniper guy says all major cities are attacked.
Quoting:
"Reports are coming in from every major city, it's a well coordinated attack."

Hrm, "every major city" may just mean in the UK/Europe of course. Doesn't necessarily mean the entire planet.Mesina2 wrote...

Smart idea Reapers, attack only major cities in Europe and leave USA and China, most powerful countries on Earth.

It may be just me, but the Big Ben sniper in the trailer does sound like Sam Worthington.
I move that the sniper be refered to as 'the Big Ben Sniper' from now on, it just sounds awesomely cool.

Indeed, especially if we consider that while most of our/Shepard's experience with humanity ingame has been through the Systems Alliance, the Earth itself is still divided up between sovereign nations as explained in the codex (the Systems Alliance gained power over the nations via the First Contact War in regards to space travel and dealing with the other races, but they still don't interfere in internal affairs). If the Big Ben Sniper is serving in British as opposed to Alliance forces then it is possible he is just refering to British cities. I'd also think that could be interesting, having a human character that is a member of a national armed service that is not the Alliance (Cerberus isn't a national force and Zaeed is a merc).
