I hope they make it in, whether its DLC or not, and hopefully no charge since it really doesn't bring any new content but is more of a "feature".
So will this game have a fantasy equivalent of a hair stylist/plastic surgeon?

I was thrilled in fallout 3 that it let me customized my character's face and hair in the game, since I often get bored of their looks or feel the nagging feeling that a certain part of their face needs surgery. Afterall, a character creator can only go so far to allow you to customize your character at the beginning, you won't know if your character looks hideous in good light or when she laughs.

In a word, no. There's nothing like that currently in game.

They died out a day after your character became an adult.

or wouldn't exist in a fantasy world (i mean the plastic surgeon...)

well maybe not a plastic surgeon but a "plastic magician". You know, like some blood mage twisting your cheeckbones in all kinds of nasty ways.
Though that might be a bit more painful than falling peacefully aslumber while counting sheeps when the narc kicks in at the surgeon...

I dunno - medieval facial reconstruction surgery would be an interesting, if entirely gruesome, addition.

i'd only want it in if it has 100% fail chance, imagine the horror.

A warhammer to the face could be considered plastic surgery maybe?
Changes your appearance at least.

Going to the hairdresser was one of the more amusing diversions in Fable II.

I wouldn't really mind it, you could start out as a bright eyed smooth skinned innocent sort of char, and add some worry lines/ scars or something as the story went on. That being said, no that feature isn't in the game as far as I know.

Yup, its an amusing diversion .Those who don't want it don't have to use it. But I like changing the looks of my characters.

I could see hairdresser. Plastic surgery, on the other hand, is kind of immersion breaking.
Which means that someone is going to mod it in at some stage, of course.

You take a quest to change your face.Your task is to run around the world looking for a face you like and kidnap them and return to the hidden cave.Come on someone make that happen.Show what happens also.

While the idea of being able to change everything I'm a bit against since it tends to make a character less concrete, I would -love- to see scarring done up in a fashion similar to the Fable series.

I hated scars in Fable, because you had little control over how bad they could make you look.

You could go for the '"ritual scarification" angle and pick and choose exactly how you want your scars to appear.

You get a surgery after each battle since you don't get scars after fights

You can kill someone and wear their face. Seems kinda renegade though.

1) Create character.
2) Decide character looks ugly in some lighting.
3) Reroll
4) Repeat step 2 - 3.
5) Profit!

Shouldn't it be
1) Create character.
2) Decide character looks ugly in some lighting.
3) Reroll
4) Repeat step 2 - 3.
5) ???
6) Profit!
?
Anyway i can't think of any issues with this. The mods people are complaining about will prob arrive anyway.
