'Tis true. I thought that trailer was the only reason this whole show was even important hahaha

Red Dead Redemption
Best Studio:
BioWare, for Mass Effect 2
Best Action Adventure Game
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Best Shooter
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Best Performance By A Human Male
Neil Patrick Harris in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Best Independent Game
Limbo

Portal 2
Best Soundtrack
DJ Hero 2
Character of the Year
Sgt. Woods (Call of Duty: Black Ops)
Those where the awards that were actually given on the show, the other categories were rapid fired before commercials or not mentioned at all. For what I gather, RDR won score and DLC. ME2 won best RPG, adn Scott Pilgrim best adapted game. I didn't catch any others

the Big Ben sniper will not be a character.
if anything, maybe a contact when you get to Earth, but he was probably a tool for the plot trailer. Nothing more.
I hope not. He has potential I think. Why go through the trouble of introducing a character in such an epic trailer without making said character part of the game?
that kind of advertising is not unusual. He didn't seem important though.
Could be wrong but he could just be there for the lulz

Thing is, if he was a squaddie, Shepard would surely have told him what those 'things' were.Yakko77 wrote...

Although more to the point, if he has spoken to Shepard (probably hasn't, as Mindless said, just a tool for the trailer) then why hasn't Shepard told him what they are...
One other thing though, what the frell was that thing that he sniped. Didn't look like a Husk

Just remembered The Witcher 2 was coming out as well.
God help us all.
2011 will be a very good year for gaming, maybe even better than 2010!

Didn't play RDR, can't say anything about the game.
I won't deny it...RDR was fun. But it WASN'T GotY material, imo.
And I respectfully disagree that it should have been top-contender out of all the other nominees. Said as someone who owns, plays, and has enjoyed RDR. Just not seeing it.

DA2, The Witcher 2, Deus Ex 3, Gears of War 3, Arkham Asylum, and finally ME3.
This is going to be quite the year.

Big Ben Man does not approve of the VGA's. That was his face during the entire ceremony...
I'll admit that I found myself forwarding through all of the meaningless dialogue and terrible jokes just to watch trailers. The only two that interested me were TES V and ME3. TBH I didn't expect them to announce it would be holiday 2011. I honestly can't wait.

It pretty much shows you this award show is a joke when the Game of the year doesn't even win its own genre award.

Presumably, Blur made the trailer, and were given VERY limited info to work with... The ME2 trailer is full of inconsistencies because of that, but its purpose was just marketing.
