same here mate. what would blow my mind (if we are going to get really wild) would be a star trek type Hollo deck, to play inside a 3d mass effect universe for a real battle with the reapers. awesome. when i consider how far computer games have come since the late eighties, imagine what bioware will be able to create in say, 25 years!

what do you think was that thing that british solider(who i think would make a great Squady in me3 you can go to my thread and give a shout out to the folks at bioware to include him in it if he isn't already in it.) killed in the trailer.

i have no idea at all, to be completely honest. It may be a husk, a collector (although no great detail, just doesnt seem like a collector profile) However, the cerberus daily news has hinted at a possible new species, so maybe it could be along those lines. I am so pleased me3 has finally been announced, but jees, its gonna be a long year lol. I guess da2 will help in the meantime. ill give ya thread a look. can u post a link?

Edit. i saw a post, where someone posted a pic of a turian next to the shadowy image of whatever the sniper shot. They really did look similar, but why would a turian be running around london, amidst the reaper destruction?

are you refering to the news articles about the EAM fleet bieng wiped out and it being (mistakenly) believed to be the quarians?

and as to my thread i dont know how to link but it should still be on the first page of this forum, it is called british solider thread.

Maybe the reapers are orbiting the galaxy, explaining why the galaxy did not float away. Considering that The Milky Way's gravitational pull can reach Andromeda, the reapers could be 'sleeping in the empty space right in the middle of the Milky Way and Andromeda

Here is a snippet of the dialogue that preceeds the final battle in ME2.

...[game dialog transcript]...

If EDI's guesswork is at all accurate, the answer to your question about why the Reapers don't look different from one another is that Bioware got lazy in making the ME2 closing shot and the shots of the Reapers from the ME3 trailer.  They SHOULD all look different.  There should only be a handful that share Sovereign's form, with many others being as diverse from each other as an elcor is from a batarian.  If it takes hundreds of thousands to millions of lives to make just one Reaper, it would seem that only a few new Reapers can be created every 50,000 years.  That would also explain why it takes such a long time for the Reapers to achieve their goals each time--they are NOT wiping out the galaxy's organic life, they are HARVESTING it.  What we see the Collectors doing all through ME2 is not a departure at all from the Reaper's normal modus operandi.

I found this part of the ending to be very interesting; Learning about how the Reapers were constructed to look like the species that was indoctrinated to make them. I too considered this idea and agree that there should be more than one model type as a result. However I don't think that anyone got 'lazy'. That final shot of the Reaper fleet outside the Milky Way is way too short, and we really only get a good look at the 'face' end of just one of them, outside of what we saw of Sovereign from ME1. Personally I'm not convinced that they are all the same model.
Just look at the last part of this video:

and pause it at the different angles that are shown. During the side view in particular it seems like there are some different shapes out there. And they don't all look exactly like the Sovereign we've seen from the ME1 screens:

http://images1.wikia...11-16-12-75.png
and http://images2.wikia...racter_Shot.png

Furthermore, from looking at the side view I mentioned above and observing the 'eye' pattern of the foremost reaper in that shot, you can see similarities between it and the that of the Collectors.  I think there's more to be seen on this topic that we'll learn in ME3 and I'm looking forward to it!

[edited for grammar]

not sure. just remember reading something about a species not seen before. I only read it quickly whilst downloading some dlc. maybe someone else could clarify this point?

i know what you are talking about i believe they are called the kirik and they are belived to be a very intllegent insectoid race capable of biotics. but i do not believe that it is them.(but it could be)

Hmm interesting. Of course i was mixing some of our understanding of today, with that of the me universe. These are quite obviously two different things. During hibernation, it would make sense to be in orbit. That way, no matter what, they would be on the edge of the galaxy upon awakening. I suspect there is a lot more to come in regard to dark energy/dark matter and that it has some part to play in how they got from dark space to the galaxy. Also, from the edge of the galaxy to the centre, the solar system (sol) is only about a third in (two thirds from the centre.)

I remember seeing at least one Cerberus news entry about a new species- one avian species in particular that was being integrated into the Citadel community, so it's unlikely that the figure from the trailer was one of them since the figure was hostile.

I don't think it was them either- they were described as being the same size as an insect that we would be familiar with.  The scientists found patterns in their biotic signals that they were using to communicate, but that figure was definately not insectoid.  I think the figure was meant to look ambiguous on purpose (although I keep looking back at it trying to figure out if it has the 'second knee joint' similar to what the collectors have...but the head didn't seem as big.

Yeah the system is quite close to the edge of the galaxy. Also, the Reapers' technology seems to heavily revolve around dark energy so I believe dark energy is definitely gonna play a part in getting them to Earth, whether its through making the Haestrom star go supernova or through some other method.

I thought it was a Collector but after seeing it so detailed (so far) Im having second guesses.

I also hope Ben is a squadi, he looks badass and I want a human sniper in my team.

He would also serve great as a plot device to have people new to the series get up to speed by telling him everything that has happened so far.

Due to the dark energy detected at the star at haestrom, its a bang cert to me. Once it destabalises, i cant really see another outcome other than supernova. The question for me would be, how much mass, and whether a black hole would result?

My thoughts exactly. Also, this post got me thinking: http://social.biowar...470776#5471250. What if the continued use of the mass relays over millions and millions of years has resulted in the release of an exponentially huge amount of dark energy. Dark energy is the name given to the mysterious force that is driving galaxies apart and increasing the rate of expansion of the universe. The Big Rip theory claims that billions or even trillions of years from now, dark energy will be not only pushing galaxies apart, but also causing galaxies to disintegrate by forcing stars away from each other, and then it will start splitting up solar system eventually resulting in the splitting of fundamental particles. What if this excess amount of dark energy produced by mass relays is causing the galaxy to become unstable and Haestrom's sun is just the start. More stars could start becoming unstable due to dark energy in their cores and stars could start drifting apart.

This sounds like a complete longshot though

i can just see the headline and article for the CDN on the day that me3 is released: TERRA ATTACKED!!!!!!!! Just a few hours ago a massive fleet (of what was long thought to be a myth) of reapers just came out of the acturus relay and has laid seige to Terra. the attack is said to be still going on, we have confirmed attacks on london so far, the death count so far is 2 million. Commander Shepard, who has always said that the reapers were real, was on a space station in orbit during the attack . Reports have indicated that Commander Shepard is assembling a new team and allies in the galactic community to launch a counterattack on Terra and to drive the reapers off Terra and out of our galaxy forever. i know that is a little dramatic but it fits.LOL
