Just an idea.

What if the Reapers land on Earth in the beginning, and Shepard has to arrive at Earth in a certain amount of time, in real time not game time, say 35 hours in order to save Earth, and every 5 hours or so a new major city falls and more people die.

Does not want

Could be like "Welcome back to the Alliance. Please update your service history to change your status from KIA to Active."

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but all I could think of was Jason Statham.

Yeah, reminded me of Statham too :) it would be awesome if he plays a character on the third game...

I'm sure I've heard that guys voice in one of the kotor games but then its been so long since I have played them.

I'm also pretty sure we will start off on Earth where we will somehow escape the reaper blockade and then progress through the game rallying an army to fight off the reapers given the dialogue and the ending of the clip where you see Shepard(?) looking at Earth before walking off like he means business.

I'm afraid all we are overanalizing a 1 minute trailer. I mean, look at the debut ME2 trailer, as missleading as it was, you couldnt extract any relevant information about the plot (no collector, recruit-a-team or colonies info) except for the death of Shepard. So, will the reapers attack the Earth in ME3? Sure. But It is perfectly possible that Shepard never will be there (and stop the attack wiht an ancient protean device in a forgotten planet) or with any other minor changes.

I still think you can glean some of the storyline from previous events.....

After you do the mission in ME2 the Illusive Man confirms that the below mentioned weapon has been recovered by Cerberus and is being studied:-

" It is believed that 37 million years ago, an unknown spacefaring race fired a mass accelerator round of incredible speed and power at the Reaper, which hit and disabled it. The round continued moving, eventually impacting the planet Klendagon and creating the Great Rift Valley there. This Reaper's death was likely the unknown race's last act of defiance before their imposed extinction. "

"Klendagon's most striking feature is, of course, the Great Rift valley that stretches across the southern hemisphere. What is most fascinating about the Rift is that it does not appear to be natural. The geological record suggests it is the result of a "glancing blow" by a mass accelerator round of unimaginable destructive power. This occurred some thirty-seven million years ago." That my friends is our saviour. (And Shepard)

im thinking that it might have been a Batarian that the british guy shot. take it back to mass effect 1 with the bring down the sky dlc. if you chose to go after the leader he talks about there being thousands of Batarians ready to fight. all im saying is either they better have a dlc where you fight a whole bunch of Bataians (unlikely) or have the Batarians in ME3 working with the reapers. after all, the Batarians hate the humans.

Humans are already fully aware of the Batarian threat, though, and would hardly be surprised about an attack, only the ships being used.

Does keeping the collector base have started to seem like the right choice to anyone who decided destroy it after watching this trailer?

I can see the Collector Base backfiring for Cerberus like it tends to do. On the derelict Reaper the Cerberus team were turned to husks and Project Overlord they bit off more than they could chew.

Cerberus has a reputation for being really clueless regarding alien technology.

I kept it, and I am always right, so therefore it is a good choice.

Why the hell would you want to rejoin the Alliance? I'd rather go solo, but if I had to choose a side, I'd go with Cerberus. They actually acknowledge the reaper threat and let you make your own decisions without having to be a Spectre.

So lets count how many Dreadnought class ships the Council Forces have at their disposal as of year 2185
Turians 39
Asari 21
Salarians 16
Humans 8 (assuming the Reapers havent destroyed any in their assult on Earth)
The human fleet is 200 ships strong year 2183 reckoning Frigate to Dreadnought class ships (http://masseffect.wi...ystems_Alliance).

So lets estimate that the Council races can deploy 2000-3000 ships from Frigate to Dreadnought class. Pluss alot of fighters.
In the end cinematic of ME2 there are 295 Reapers in picture (http://masseffect.wi...om/wiki/Reapers) probly not the whole fleet so maybe the Reaper fleet is 1000 "ships" strong optimistic view or they are 10 000 ships strong we are f***ed view.

Hopefully Sovereign was an specially strong Reaper (Yeah right)

If this is true, the epicness of the final battle between the humans and Reapers might make Pellenor Fields look like patty cake.

i just want to know, and I've wondered about this since seeing Sovereign in ME1, how are you supposed to fight something that size with a freakin' handgun?

I honestly don't have time to read through fifteen pages of comments, though I may eventually..but I just wanted to pipe into the "Why EARTH?!?111?01" debate...

In Mass Effect, Vigil on Ilos mentioned that the prothean genocide took centuries to complete, but since the Reapers are "timeless", they could care less how long it takes. Instead, they are completely methodical, eradicating inhabitants, indoctrinating a few survivors to act as sleeper agents on refugee planets, and harvesting all the technology.

This is normally done after the Citadel has been cleansed and all of the galaxy's leadership and communication lines have been eliminated. Instead, the Citadel has been sealed by the last protheans' noble sacrifice, and can no longer be remotely activated. Instead, Harbinger awoke the rest of the Reapers, and they began to enter the galaxy from the edges of Dark Space.

So, WHY EARTH?

Take a look on your Star Map--The Sol system, which Earth is a part of (the SOLar system), is pretty close to the edge of the universe. Recall that humanity remained basically undiscovered by all other galactic races until the discovery of the Prothean ruins on Mars, so it stands to reason that our arm of the galaxy is largely uninhabited except for us. It is perfectly reasonable to think that Earth is just another planet caught in the swath of a massive reaper fleet.

The other obvious answer would be because Earth is clearly a strategic target--think about how many reasons the reapers could have for attacking it. Logical reasons, even. It is the home planet of arguably the most powerful race in the galaxy, and it has proven itself extremely capable in the past. Liara called humanity a race of "action", because of their short lives (~150 years max). Sovereign, the Reaper vanguard, was also destroyed almost exclusively by Alliance vessels. Commander Shepard is from Earth, and it's pretty obvious that he is the key to defeating the Reapers. It makes sense that the Reapers would want to hit him where it hurts most. Shepard may very well be forced to choose between saving Earth and possibly losing much of the Galaxy (put humanity first?).

Just my two cents. And as for why London...I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in the codex and is obvious fro ME1 and ME2 gameplay that Earth is not really a place of nations anymore. They are merely known as the Alliance, and although the many races (caucasian, asian, etc) are still present, they all speak the same language and hold the same allegiances. London could very well be the location of some historically important alliance-forming thingy place... a symbol of Earth unity, and so forth.

ok, that question has been asked already probably but...

Is there any forum or web site about ME3?  Aragon Age 2 has all that but I cannot seem to find anything about ME3 except pre-order page and bits and pieces in here...

I'd except one either shortly before DA2 releases or just after. Bioware will probably want their full focus on DA2, especially since it is pretty close to release day.
