It is interesting. But to be honest I was a little more underwhelmed than I wanted to be. Maybe it's because the premise was leaked before hand, but I'm also a little worried about the fact that so far Earth is the only planet they mentioned. Reapers are much scarier when they were an immediate threat to everyone, everywhere. And something about the premise of that whole trailer seems a little weird. It's not exactly what I would have expected from a Mass Effect 3 reveal. I guess because it seemed like they didn't want to reveal what game it was in the beginning few seconds of the teaser.

I know it's a little early to make those kinds of criticisms of the game, but those fears (justified or not) are what spring up after seeing that. Earth is not really important in the grand scheme of things. It's mostly just important to us specifically because it's our planet of origin, plus since humans are one of the least developed specieis in the galaxy, I would guess that well over 90% of all humans still live there. Beyond that, To the galaxy as a whole it's not an especially major world. Anyway, here's hoping Mass Effect 3 can bring the threat of the reapers to the rest of the galaxy as well.

I remember the ME 2 teaser being more captivating because of the intrigue in created. At least to me.

Anyway, personally I'd be assuming the game will be released in December of next year.

Maybe, it is a trailer for another BRIDGE DLC? And the Reapers start with London England instead of Tokyo Japan? So we loose the Canadian accents and gain proper  British ones?

Think about it this way.  After the first ME2 teaser, all we knew was that Shepard was dead and there was a geth wearing N7 armor.

All we know right now is Earth has been attacked and they can't seem to contact anyone.  We know that the sniper knows of Shepard and hopes he's rallying a force.

So for all we know, the rest of the Galaxy is taking it on the chin too.

So the series that start out with the promise of "an ever-expanding galaxy", "the galaxy is yours to explore" "an enemy that threatens the universe" ends on earth? Does EA suck evey ounce of creative imagination from employees when they walk in the door?

I assumed that reaper forces were engaging the other species simultaneously; I doubt that the coalition would wait and watch while the reapers destroy earth. After all, sniper-guy-with-leg-injury doesn't hope for the timely arrival of Council or even Systems Alliance forces, but Shepard's private army.

Before trailer: Wooohooo ME 3 announced! F--- yeah!

After trailer: AWOKDAWJDOPAJWDPAWJPDOJAWPDJ AWPODJPAW P WANT!

I heard some people don't like it. It's their opinion so what does it matter? Seriously you'd think that after 2 games people would get used to others expressing opinions not similar to theirs.

Well, in my opinion it's a very good trailer. It confirmed that Earth was under attack from the Reapers and most importantly they weren't attacking only America this time. (<:P)
And the fact that it's the ending of an epically well put together game (and storyline) just increases my expectation to finally finish what I (or my character) strived to do for so many years.

Sure the Earth being under attack by aliens is a cliche and all that but you must understand that this time Earth belongs to the Mass Effect universe, another alternate-reality, another unique view in the form of what the writer of ME wanted to do.

So it's not about the place in which the action takes part but the overall story that drives you to that unique moment.

The finale.

Whether or not it'll be a great game... well don't you think it's a little early to decide just from one teaser trailer? In any case I have confidence in Bioware when it comes to RPG's, I'm sure they won't disappoint.

Have a great day guys and remember that in the end it's just a game, if one person doesn't like it, it's their right and if it bugs you then just learn to ignore what other people think. It works both in real life and in pixel screen life. :-)

Actually, I think this is a brilliant and original idea. Every other game has some sort of "get-out-of-the-Shire-and-go-to-Mordor" storyline while in ME3 you'll end the epic quest in your own backyard after travelling across the galaxy for two games.
No, wait a minute... That's how alot of Bioware's games end... I take back what I said about it being original :P

Considering all three games, I'd say the premise is still unique.

When i first watched this, i thought, i recognise that voice, then i thought, that sounds like sean bean, then i had happy thoughts of sean bean being part of your squad, then i thought wow london, thats unexpected, then holy crap look at the reapers!

Its nice they've used london, most films and games out there regarding alien invasions seem to think new york and washinton are the only major cities in the world.

Oh and the CGI.... wow

Its just an awesome teaser

I agree. You just cant assume anything from a 30second reveal trailer! The rest of the galaxy may be in the same state? We just dont know. Earth is under attack, and that is all we can take from this.  I do hope the game explains how the reapers managed to get here though.

Wow, the teaser looks perfect (I wonder what would be the cost of the movie animated this way), really, I'm looking forward to ME3...

Still, the only thing to worry about is the HOLIDAY 2011 stuff at the end, I just fear that the game will be hyped as hell - I want another elaborate perfect piece like ME1, with the epicness and style of ME2...

Anyway, I think that the last game just need some charismatic archvillain (like Saren or so), because the Collector General kinda annoyed me throughout the game (THIS HURTS YOU)...

And who's that guy in trailer? Some SAS British sidekick?

I hope by Holiday 2011 they mean November, because in my profession getting time off in december is very difficult and i'll need at least a week off to waste away on my sofa playing this (as with the last 2)

Ohh and that beam weapon the reapers are using looks scary, look at the devistation its causing!

It's the same weapon Sovereign used in ME1.

Yeah i know, but it looks a lot more impressive in this trailer than it did, admittedly it was destoying alliance ships with ease, but the graphics back then didn't really show off the weapon to its fullest

Why I was reminded of trailer for Crysis 2...

Anyway I hope the galaxy is one huge carnage and not just Earth and we get to see some nice huge battles (rendered in-engine not prerendered).

And definetely I hope that release at least Decembedr and not April - or quality might not be good.

I must have missed the point in the trailer where it says ME3 will take place exclusively on Earth.

it wont take place on earth, just the final mission aparently.

“Earth is burning. Striking from beyond
known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction
of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only
hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and
launch one final mission to take back the Earth.”

Humanity is a council race. They have a large military comparable to the other council races, and innovate in ways the other races don't. That makes us a little more than totally unimportant I think.

London calling to the faraway towns,

Now that war is declared - and battle come down.
