Anyone else notice how the sniperguy said it had been a week and he had no clue what these things were? Then he looks very surprised to find reaper ships landing all around him. Could this mean an advance force landed before the reapers or that the Alliance held them off for a week? (unlikely)

I mean the ships were just landing, after a week of fighting. Something must have held them back.

He also said their defenses melted like butter, more or less. I think he was just noticing another Reaper landing right in front of him. The other Reapers had clearly been there a while.

I reckon we will have to go to all the home planets of the main races and liberate them somehow. The game ends with all the races focusing on Earth as its been the most heavily targeted.

Things can get resolved on the way, like if you convince Legion to allow the Flotilla to help the Geth on their home world they all make up and become BBF. Or make a deal with the Krogan that you will give them the cure for the genophage(if you kept it) if they help fight the Reapers.

Those are my thoughts anyway just throwing ideas out there.

I personally believe Earth was singled out and alpha striked, because they want to make sure they have enough Humans to make a Reaper and eliminate any possible Human resistance in a Galactic War. It would suck for them if they managed to conquer the galaxy, only to find out that they didn't have enough Humans to make a Reaper because they killed 99% of them.

In addition, I think the Reapers' logical minds have been semi blown by the fact "one" Human has thwarted them twice against truly impossible odds. That means the Reapers might be desperate in their own machine way and may think a Human Reaper would be "godly," especially if they capture and meltdown Shepard.

As for the number of dead and the Reapers just landing after a week etc., remember it's just a trailer. My guess is Alliance Fleets and International Ground Forces got brutalized in the first day and make up a lot of that 9 million dead number (if that doesn't just apply to London) in the first week. After a week Alliance Local Fleets or what's left of them, fall back/retreat beyond the Relay, leaving those on the ground to fend for themselves and live to fight another day. That explains why at least two Reapers are just landing in London, because the space battles just ceased.

Loved it, great to hear something about ME3. Although it wasn't much it tells us quite a bit about the direction. I was wondering whether ME3 was going to be about a war or somehow holding them back in deep space and that has been answered. They have a way of getting back, presumably en-mass. And it looks like we will be seeing earth.

My theory about why the Reapers didn't destroy Earth right away is because they're waiting for Shepard. They want to lure him to Earth and kill him once and for all.

I wonder why the Reapers don't just orbitally bombard Earth or deploy mass amounts of seeker swarms to severely hamper/eliminate resistance?

Also have to wonder what the batarians will be up to during this. Will they have been hit themselves? Will they take advantage of crumbling human defenses? Bolster their OWN defenses? Or will they bury the hatchet with the Alliance and join them in fighting a common foe?

The Reapers found a back door in to the galexy. The codex said there were many relay that were not open. I think one relay would only allow a few Reapers in to the Galaxy and not all of them.Thats how they got in or a sleeper agent let them in.

Shepard will find the off button on the Reapers and will turn them all off.

My reaction to the trailer singlehandedly consisted of the word 'Daaaaaamn'.

Also, does anyone know precisely which holiday they're talking about? If they mean summer, then that's definitely good enough for me.

Don't you think you're jumping to hasty conclusions based on a 1 minute trailer?

I dunno, its a pretty easy conclusion to jump to. Reapers are aliens, they are invading Earth. The Go-To for sci fi movies is aliens invading the Earth. If Bioware's objective was to show that the Reapers were invading the galaxy as a whole then the trailer would have given some indication.

Holiday almost always refers to a winter release.

It's not Sean Bean.  You guys just think that because you're not British.  Let me assure you it most certainly is not Sean Bean.

Yeah, please, somebody tell me that the Reapers won't be beaten by ordinary force of arms...Like it's being set up as.  Come on...

That would pretty much confirm the Reapers villain decay is complete.

Actually that would be much more interesting (and challenging to write) than the hokey deus ex machina you seem to be desperate for.

A trailer? Well this is interesting. The 'Holiday 2011' release is confusing me a bit though.

I take it that it's possible Earth is involved in ME3 in some way? Or it could just possibly be just a marketing ploy, showing the danger humanity is in and the threat the Reapers present.

What I am now imagining is a final battle scene where krogan, geth, rachni, and others fight through the streets of Earth against Reaper footsoldiers.

I can't speak for everyone, obviously, but at least in my area of the US, in schools they always made us say "Great Britain" instead of England. Not sure why, especially when I knew damn well I meant England.

It is interesting what synopsis that EA eventually took down off its website says:

Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the
civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth.

Does this mean that Shepard is reinstated into the Alliance?  That would be an interesting plot point.

I guess that happens in an upcoming DLC or something. Maybe in the same DLC as the VS survivor one (if there will be one)
