I don't think the reapers are launchin a full assault on Earth based upon the last few seconds were you see part of the earth on fire. That bit looks consistent to he size of Britain, but I could be wrong

That's the fear. The hope is that Earth is the "Collector Base" of ME3, or better yet, one of a few worlds you have to re-take.

The reapers look aweasome. I always thought it was gonna be more of a space fought war.... but it's an all out extermination.

7mil in the first week!? How are we gonna fight this!?

Edit: It's also the world premiere of 2186 Earth, nice. 

Fun Fact: Anderson was born in London. He'll probably want revenge after he sees the trailer...

I had a few different reactions during the trailer.  The line about not knowing what the are:  If they listened before whent Shepard said the Reapers were coming then they'd know!  Me knowing what "they" are: Super excited to see the Reapers attacking.  Seeing the N7 logo on the screen: Ready to rock right now!

My gripe is about Earth being the centre of attention when there is no reason for it to be.

I could be wrong, but didn't the big baddie speech at the end of ME2 say something about Shepherd "calling attention to his/her species"? I mean, I highly doubt the game will spend as much time focused on earth as you think, but they targeted humans in ME2, and Shepherd got all up in their business. It kind of makes sense for them to go after the human's home planet if they've got their tentacles in a twist about it. Even if not all humans live there... Earth is still "home".

Anyway, BioWare hasn't really let me down yet, so I'm not worried about it.

No those other little ships had a jet-fighter look to them and they were flying towards the reapers, unlike the ones that resemble the gunship from Archangel's mission.

Clearly Reapers intend to indoctrinate Earth to create their own army of Reaper-Shepards. All their intel points out that humans are the ultimate weapon of war.

I can't wait. I haven't been this anticipated for a game since Halo 3 was announced!



Also, if the world does end in 2012 (which I doubt.), I'm glad that this game may come out just before it.

I mean the ships were just landing, after a week of fighting. Something must have held them back.

My theory about why the Reapers didn't destroy Earth right away is because they're waiting for Shepard. They want to lure him to Earth and kill him once and for all.

I don't think so because from the looks of the teaser and from what the sniper dude said it looks more like Shepard was on Earth at the time of the attack and is leaving to form an army to take on the reapers. Also for this reason I don't think he will be a squad mate rather he will be Shepard's replacement if he died on the suicide mission in Mass Effect 2.

Also, looks amazing, but despite my love of all things British, BioWare overuses their wonderful accents. Please don't accuse me of wanting more Yankee accents either, I just think that there are a whole slew of other awesome European, Asian, African, and central/south American accents that could add some more flavor there. Probably alone on that one but hey.



(Inb4 British are the best voice actors. I know this.)

Also have to wonder what the batarians will be up to during this. Will they have been hit themselves? Will they take advantage of crumbling human defenses? Bolster their OWN defenses? Or will they bury the hatchet with the Alliance and join them in fighting a common foe?

Batarians are so welfare that the human leftovers could probably destroy them.

It's also likely the Seeker's were wiped out along with the rest of Harbingers side-hobby.

Also, the humans won't use their own heavy weapons on the Reapers so long as those Reapers are above inhabited cities.

Sean Bean was the voice of the Sniper in this teaser and that guy has an awesome voice. I really hope hes a big character in ME3. The VGA's had a few good teasers, like Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Max Von Sydow was the narrator in that teaser and that guy also has a fantastic voice. They need to get him into the ME3 cast.
