Sean Bean was the voice of the Sniper in this teaser and that guy has an awesome voice. I really hope hes a big character in ME3. The VGA's had a few good teasers, like Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Max Von Sydow was the narrator in that teaser and that guy also has a fantastic voice. They need to get him into the ME3 cast.
RICHARD ARMITAGE! It was not, not, not Sean Bean dude.......
Englishman, living in England myself
Ahhh yes, your right. Never heard of him before. They definitely sound very much alike.
I just dont hear Sean Bean in the snipers voice at all, LOL. However, that may be because he's from Yorkshire like myself and the accent is very specific (Even when he's acting you know he's a yorkshireman). There must be some similarity though, as many people thought it was indeed Sean Bean, albeit I suspect, Non-English.
EDIT: Leicester is only about 50 miles or so south of Sheffield (Yorks), but in terms of English regional accents, that is a very long way!!!

I'm certain it's neither of those guys. It's not Sean Bean as his Yorkshire accent is recognisable from anywhere, even when he's trying to do a different accent, it's definitely not him. I'm also positive it's not Richard Armitage either. Having watched him in 2 series of Spooks and getting accustomed to his voice I could definitely say it's not him. The sniper's voice isn't deep or gravelly enough to be him. But I could be wrong. At this moment in time I'd just guess it was a random English actor.
On a side note, this may have already been considered, but have you notice how it's only 7 million dead in 1 week? It seems like a lot, but when I think of a fleet of Reaper's attacking a planet I would expect billions to die.

Still, he made it sound like it was taking awhile for the Reapers to decimate earth. Guess us humans were being more troublesome than anticipated. Probably all those rednecks in 'Bama with their surplus grenade launchers.

It's 9 million, I believe. But remember that's in London alone. I did some math and found that it would take the reapers aproximately 25 years to kill the entire population of Earth based on this rate. HOWEVER, since we have no idea how many have been killed in total I couldn't count just how many years it would actually take them.
In any case, considering that it took the reapers centuries to wipe out the protheans I would say that 25 years is nothing and that they are wiping us out quite effectively.

Maybe thats just 7 million in london?
and since all but one of the reapers are landing i'm guessing they're only just arriving, so maybe there's another race the Reapers have control over, unless they're husks (or a variant of) or leftover collectors or a different race alltogether that were sent as a first assault /cannon fodder to weaken Earth defences in prep for the Reapers arrival
Judging by the amount of damage to the surface they're lasers are doing, if they'd been there more than a day london would be in a much worse state, probably unrecognisable

I definitely don't have an ear for English accents. After you corrected me I checked both their origins because I was certain they would be the same.

why wouldnt it? even if every known planet is under attack, our most important one should be the center of attention.
not a big diff, but theyre looking for a way to kill the reapers in the big picture, not save the earth.
There is no evidence to suggest that every planet in the galaxy is under siege. Virgil stated that it took centuries to wipe out the Prothians, this would indicate the Reapers are relatively few. Perhaps 10,000, ME2s end cinematic doesnt allow for an accurate count (1 cycle of extinction and 1 birth every 50,000 thousand years). In the video there were, what, 8 Reapers over London? 8 per capital/large city multiplied by approx. 5 (average number of large cities per country, adjusted for not all countries having large cities while others have more) multiplied by approx. 190 countries adds up to 7800 Reapers total focusing on Earth. Assume the remaining 2200 have formed a perimiter to prevent no one getting in or out.
While the math is based on guess work at this point, it means the entire Reaper population is focused on Earth.
By all accounts (codex entries), Earths only real importance is that its our homeworld. It might hurt morale, but the Reapers aren't known for being masters of psychological warefare.
Well lets see here....which race has been established as "capturing" the reapers' attention by the end of ME1? Humans.
Who were the reapers/collectors collecting in ME2? humans. Who added further insult to injury by the end of ME2? humans.
Who's going to be at the top of the reaper's galactic **** list? HUMANS.
And NO i do not believe earth is going to be the only planet under siege by the reapers because that is just common sense. And again it make sense theryre attacking earth and THATS WHY WE CARE...because you know...it's kind of our home planet and everything

It took about 10 years (i believe) to destroy the Prothean homeworld and 100 years for the Reapers to kill or re-purpose all the Protheans. It should probably take them about the same time to do that to us.

1)HOLY **** OMG THAT WAS SO EPIC!
2)^
3)I'm assuming that the narrator/sniper dude is a squadmate (kinda like legion in the ME2 teaser), and IMO he sounds more like Sam Worthington than Sean Bean
4)I'm also guessing that some of the species will be reluctant to fight the reapers head on to save earth (ie: Turians)
5) I wonder what the Turian Councellor thinks of the footage of the reaper attack.

There's over six billion humans on earth. At a rate of 7 million a week, Shepard has around 850 weeks before total annihilation. More then enough time to kick ass all over the galaxy, finish up on the romance and drink Serrice ice before heading into the fray! Then shooting the reapers with... guns!

I know Bioware often use the same voice actors throughout their games so that might be a good place to start.

6 billion in the population of Earth currently. In ME (circa 2180's) the population is 9-11 billion. (I can't recall) Overpopulation is still an issue with humanity in the 22nd century.redelephant wrote...

It is believed that is per city. Reapers are systematically abducting everyone slowly as to not damage their crop.TheShogunOfHarlem wrote...

Any word on what "Holiday" they are talking about? Anything at all?
Generally when video game developers say "Holiday Season" they're referring to Christmas time, Mid-December to Early-January.

The Reapers found a back door in to the galexy. The codex said there were many relay that were not open. I think one relay would only allow a few Reapers in to the Galaxy and not all of them.Thats how they got in or a sleeper agent let them in.
Shepard will find the off button on the Reapers and will turn them all off.
Wait a moment...
Wasn't that guy from Mass Effect: Ascension and the latest book (the former Cerberus operative with the biotic daughter in the Ascension Program) turned inadvertedly into a Reaper agent? I never read it, but I read all the spoilers, saying that he was experimented on to test indoctrination, and after being indoctrinated, escaped and his whereabouts afterwards are unknown. And yes, I forgot his name. Too lazy to check the mass effect wiki right now.
Anyway I'm saying perhaps HE's the sleeper agent that allowed the Reapers in. Its a possibility at least, especially since, from what I heard, he was supposed to be an important character from now on in the franchise.
