collectors failed to get Shepard, failed to make human reaper. so harbinger was just stopped control, gave them up. I guess that harbinger would try to direct control to certain human (of course, there is always reward to do) just like collectors in mass effect 3. that's why sniper in Ben just killed another human. they turned enemies against the same species. I am very excited. we are all nerd. I wonder how Legion will react this situation.

I thought that person he shot was a husk, but that would make since too.

Which leads to another question. What's the main bulk of the reaper army? Because I do NOT want it to be ships like Sovereign or harbinger.

7 million dead in just a week?
How the hell are we supposed to save Earth with so many people dying in such a short amount of time!?

Err.. 7 million in one week would give the Earth about 1000 weeks. Either the reapers will have to step up their pace or it's going to be a sloooow proces of ridding the galaxy of sentient life.

Or of course he could've meant 7 million death in London in one week. Which I find a bit more likely judging by him also saying there's been reports (said in a certain way, with a sporadic meaning) comming in from other major cities after he said the 7 million death thing.

Just wanna point out one thing - Nowhere in the trailer is it said that this invasion is confined to Earth alone, For all we know the Reapers might be invading the Asari Turian and every other home world as well.

Lol, someone please find a clip of Simon Pegg doing is pornstar voice, I swear it's him!

I thought the same for him, but the voice seems to deep/raspy to be him.

I'm feverishly trying to find a clip of him doing his deep voice.  I'm gonna laugh so loud if it turns out it's him

Sounds like Sean Bean to me, but I'm not that good at distinguishing British accents.

I've only seen him for one minute and already I'm liking the British guy in the Mass Effect 3 trailer. He seems like a real tough bad*** who can remain cool under fire. I hope we can recruit him in the game.

That is because the Brits Forces always have, always will and always will be bad asses. Us Brits are that damn good :D

Sadly if Shepard is off 'recruiting races to help', am not sure if we'll be able to help them on Earth.

He'll probably be someone we speak to on Comms.

What has me concerned is...

"all our defences destroyed..."

5th FLEET??? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, Mr. Big Ben for LI in ME3 Image IPB

Seconded!

Any ME3 LI is going to be shallow in comparison to the older romances. I know ME3 will probably have them for newcomers, but, honestly, I wish they wouldn't. I'd prefer for them to flesh out the old rather than have to struggle with the new.

Me too i would love to see the emotional connection Shepards going to have with her LI during this dark time.

Good lord people. You really can't tell the difference between people with english accents can you? I promise you "Big Ben" is not voiced by Jason Statham or Simon Pegg.

I have mixed feelings about the trailer.

It makes sense storyline-wise. We knew there was going to be a massive Reaper invasion across the universe. We know this is part of a cycle that the Reapers have perpetuated for God knows how long. We also know that it's highly likely that the Reaper incursion would make it's way to Earth as I'm sure all other planets with sentient life on it. So no surprises there.

What has me alarmed is the focus on Earth and this first person narrative in the trailer. It leads me to believe a number of unsettling possibilities. For example it could be construed that BioWare is doing what Bungie did with the Halo franchise. That we may just see ME3 with a predominant Earth/human perspective storyline. Or, perhaps it's a set up for a future spin-off FPS that is set on Earth where you and other humans fight the Reapers. That is something I don't care for. Why weave a story with all these interesting races and worlds only to dump it all for something that mimics Halo: ODST, Halo: Reach, Quake 4, Resistance, etc?

A major reason I've enjoyed the Mass Effect story so far is the fact that it includes a number of other races besides humans, other races and other worlds. I've groomed my Shepard character to be concerned not just for humanity's survival but the survival of all sentient life. I've built relationships with non-humans, and it's been more than clear to me in ME1 & ME2 that without co-operation between the different races, without an Asari Biotic or a Krogan warrior saving Shepard's butt on multiple occasions, that Shepard and humanity wouldn't survive very long in the universe.

I dunno. It's like there are different factions in BioWare and/or with EA where some see the Mass Effect universe as being a much bigger place that humans are only a mere part of like the Turians, Salarians, Asari, etc. and this other faction that wants to run with the formula of everything being about humanity vs the alien invaders.

At any rate. I was hoping to see a trailer on ME3 with many battlefronts from the Quarian Flotilla to Omega to Illium, to the Citadel, etc. where everyone is fighting off the Reapers. Instead I got the feeling it's all about humanity's plight. The universe just got smaller.

That's actually a pretty accurate description of how I feel as well.

Vigil said it took centuries for galactic civilizations to be eradicated--and, as far as we knew, that was only dealing with the Protheans.

It's possible that the current civilization is much more advanced than the Reapers would have normally allowed, and are better able to fight back, not to mention some semblance of preperation thanks to Shepard.

ETA: Also, I'm wondering if the Paragon choice isn't to significantly weaken Earth by taking awhile to boost up the rest of the galaxy's defenses, and the Renegade choice is to save Earth at the expense of the armies you've collected.

Remember they attacked the cities first. So they're going to wipe out the highest concentration first. It'll be longer than projected, even with indoctrinated agents.

Agreed, I know it has been said to take a while, but I was rather
responding to someone who said: "7 million dead in just a week?
How the hell are we supposed to save Earth with so many people dying in such a short amount of time!?"

It would have to take quite a long while if we want to have any sort of chance anyway.

I do like how realistic the graphics are, but I do hope with such a quick release they aren't sacrificing game play or storyline. I hope BioWare outdoes themselves with this as they have promised (Having your Ashley/Kaidian ME1 romance to fix wouldn't hurtn as a bridge DLC in the meantime though ;D)

It isn't Sean Bean, I can recognise his voice anywhere, even when he isn't showing any hint of his 'Yorkshire' accent. It is someone northern though I think, which is why am suspecting Greg Ellis because he's done work for Bioware before albeit he was doing a different accent for his most famous Bioware VA... ANDERS. But I have heard him do an accent similar to that sniper.

I seriously doubt it is Simon Pegg and it definitly ISN'T Sam Worthington.
