Good lord people. You really can't tell the difference between people with english accents can you? I promise you "Big Ben" is not voiced by Jason Statham or Simon Pegg.
Stephen Fry is right!
You people disgust me...

Um that thing he shot was not human. Looked more like a husk.archurban wrote...
collectors failed to get Shepard, failed to make human reaper. so harbinger was just stopped control, gave them up. I guess that harbinger would try to direct control to certain human (of course, there is always reward to do) just like collectors in mass effect 3. that's why sniper in Ben just killed another human. they turned enemies against the same species. I am very excited. we are all nerd. I wonder how Legion will react this situation.

I have mixed feelings about the trailer.
It makes sense storyline-wise. We knew there was going to be a massive Reaper invasion across the universe. We know this is part of a cycle that the Reapers have perpetuated for God knows how long. We also know that it's highly likely that the Reaper incursion would make it's way to Earth as I'm sure all other planets with sentient life on it. So no surprises there.
What has me alarmed is the focus on Earth and this first person narrative in the trailer. It leads me to believe a number of unsettling possibilities. For example it could be construed that BioWare is doing what Bungie did with the Halo franchise. That we may just see ME3 with a predominant Earth/human perspective storyline. Or, perhaps it's a set up for a future spin-off FPS that is set on Earth where you and other humans fight the Reapers. That is something I don't care for. Why weave a story with all these interesting races and worlds only to dump it all for something that mimics Halo: ODST, Halo: Reach, Quake 4, Resistance, etc?
A major reason I've enjoyed the Mass Effect story so far is the fact that it includes a number of other races besides humans, other races and other worlds. I've groomed my Shepard character to be concerned not just for humanity's survival but the survival of all sentient life. I've built relationships with non-humans, and it's been more than clear to me in ME1 & ME2 that without co-operation between the different races, without an Asari Biotic or a Krogan warrior saving Shepard's butt on multiple occasions, that Shepard and humanity wouldn't survive very long in the universe.
I dunno. It's like there are different factions in BioWare and/or with EA where some see the Mass Effect universe as being a much bigger place that humans are only a mere part of like the Turians, Salarians, Asari, etc. and this other faction that wants to run with the formula of everything being about humanity vs the alien invaders.
At any rate. I was hoping to see a trailer on ME3 with many battlefronts from the Quarian Flotilla to Omega to Illium, to the Citadel, etc. where everyone is fighting off the Reapers. Instead I got the feeling it's all about humanity's plight. The universe just got smaller.
Had similar thoughts among others.

Anyone notice the giant ferris wheel in futuristic London? At least that's what it looks like.
Yeah, I saw that too. A little weird.

Does London have an annual fair or a famous Ferris wheel? I wouldn't know. Let me use Google-fu.
Yep, I guess they do. The London Eye.

If that was real life, then erm.. *looks out his window at gone 4am UK time* Either Reapers have lit up the sky down south (I live in Northern England in comparison to where London is) or nope it isn't REAL LIFE.bledsun wrote...
IS THIS REAL LIFE?
That and I think I'd be able to see Reapers if it was

Why attack Britain is it the strongest nation on Earth?
They're likely attacking every nation on the planet. Mr.Big Ben said other cities are being attacked and the world looks pretty screwed up when Shepard is looking at it.

Still guys, do not put too much of yourselves on just 1 min. of CGI footage done to look dramtic and epic. As time passes, there'll be previews, interviews and what not, and I think just then would be the best time to discuss what BioWare is actually doing. For now, just had to the wishlist and pray for them to see your suggestion. See you all later, I'm gonna rest.

Britain is a part of the European Union--in any case, I suppose they just picked a place that wasn't New York City.
Because NYC has well over a million times filled its quota of "attacked by aliens". BioWare probably wanted to do something unique. Someone else be the butt monkey of the world, and they picked London. Lucky guys!

It could be another indoctrinated species that we just haven't seen yet.

Thanks, for a second there I thought I was stuck in a Jason Statham fangirl convention....<_<. It doesn't sound like Statham AT ALL. The accent and the enunciation reminded me of Sean Bean right from the get go. I don't suppose anybody official is going to tell us who it really is??
