Though this is what I thought ME3 would be from the onset, a DA:O-style system of gaining alliances so you can combat the big evil threat.
But still, hasn't this also happened before? A galaxy united against the Reapers and facing them in open battle, only to get annhiliated time and time again in the cycles of extinction?
(I know back in ME1 it was the first time the Keepers ignored the Reapers signal, but they had to have secondary, tertiary, etc., plans for this right?)

Seriously though, i'm glad to see the Brits getting some love. Hopefully we'll see the guy featured in the trailer getting a place in Shepards squad. Can always do with more Snipers

So...Can someone sum up what we know about ME3?
The Reapers are attacking Earth
Commander Shepard will return
There is some British dude who knows who Commander Shepard is and he has an Incisor Sniper Rifle.
It comes out Holiday 2011.
I think that's it.
Also, SPOLIER ALERT:
You shoot stuff.
Reapers be reaping.
You get some of dat' alien ass.
ZuluDFA will make crazy conspiracy theories.
People will complain about the lackluster amount of reporter punching.
Where is ZuluDFA anyways? I am in need of conspiracy theories and my horoscope.

Was it just me or did the british soilder sound like the guy who plays Zaeed?
One possible theory is that the events of trailer are near the end of the game and at the beginning the Reapers are still on the edge of the galaxy. Maybe ME3 will take place over the course of 10 years instead of one.
Lol, no.

We dont even know that this is how ME3 starts. For all we know, it happens after the game starts. For all we know, the first few bits of the game could be Shep making his statements public when he returned from the suicide mission that the Reapers are coming, He could be have been trying to find a way to stop them. But what can Shep really do? I mean, people are complaining that Shep has done nothing after ME2 to stop them, but what can one man and his team do to stop a massive Reaper force that can wipe out massive fleets in a few seconds? We also dont know how far after ME2 this is. It could be a few months or a year, or more.
Also, at the end the British guy says that if Shep doesnt come soon then there wont be an Earth to save. This by no means is to say that ME3 will be about Earth. Well, it would probably heavily involve Earth, but I doubt that it will ignore the rest of the galaxy. The Brit said that because hes on earth and hes watching the destruction around him. He has no idea if other planets are getting attacked. He is on Earth, waiting for Shep.
Also, I think that any LI in past games are almost guaranteed to be there. I mean, if they were put in a very minor role, then whats the point of having the LI with you at the end? I mean, with ME2 the LI was in a minor role because you were cut off from them, such as with Ash or Kaiden (you being Cerberus and all). Plus someone from Bioware said that if you stayed loyal to your LI from ME1 then you would be rewarded. If LIs were not a big role, then why bother saying that?
So I think people need to chill. Its just one trailer. We dont know that the Reapers are just attacking Earth, and Ill bet that they are not. Its probably just focusing on Earth in the trailer to show the destruction. That or the Reapers are starting with Earth and then moving on. As said before, the Reapers have been thwarted before by humans (Shep) and want to get revenge and ****** him off.
But Im sure that Bioware wont drop the ball on us.

My apologies then, saw someone earlier on making similarites to chief and shep, so it kind of threw me.Remmak wrote...

Well, unless your talking about Sniper dude, which makes no sense because he isn't a 'Space Marine', then am assuming your trying to be funny and proclaiming that Shepard is like Master Chief. When you seem to forget that unlike Master Chief, Shepard can be a woman! Not only a woman but you can change the skin tone too.
Way off base (I haven't played a single Halo game in my life). I was refering to Bioware's (and all game developers) tendency to overuse white males as gaming heroes and (in addition) not use any female counterpart of that hero figure (female shep) in their marketing.
My "space marine" comment was in reference to sniper dude, but only in a general sense. A male soldier in a sci-fi setting. Has nothing to do with Master Chief.
As for Sniper dude *shrugs* badass Brit, plus also I don't think he is going to be a 'hero' I doubt if he'll even be a Squadmate.

In Mass Effect 1, they defended against a geth (Heretic) attack led by a reaper. The message was clear: This is only the beginning.PARAGON87 wrote...

Around what month(s) is "Holiday 2011" exactly?
It's the politically correct way of saying the Christmas season. Anytime between Thanksgiving (3rd Thursday of November) and New Years Eve/Day.

Being able to satisfy the largest possible audience is a big challange. Hope Bioware can pull it off.

This time the Reapers have the disadvantage of not having access to the Mass Relays. In Mass Effect 1 the Reapers were said to have accessed the Citadel Mass Relay and destroyed all of the Prothean's Leaders and had access to their homeworld and all of their colonies.

But..but he's in the trailer. THEREFORE HE IS A SQUADMATE AND ROMANCABLE! I'M GOING TO GO WRITE FANFICS ABOUT HIM AND COMPLAIN WHY MY BOYFRIEND and/or GIRLFRIEND ISN'T LIKE HIM!

That's one reason we argue on forums. To give devs an idea of what the community wants.chris2365 wrote...
