HURR DURR HUMANS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT SPECIES IN THE GALAXY

Why, Bioware?

My thoughts exactly.

I mean seriously, how many times in videogames have we played as the Space Marine saving Earth?

They may be able to generate their own wormholes or something.  I mean, hey, they built the relays, right?

That's what that oval thing sure looks like.

Well, I more or less excpected this scene. It's raining Reapers... death to humanity. And the galaxy.

9 million dead after a whole week on Earth?

Hahahaha.

What are they doing, smothering people to death with pillows? An Ohio class submarine could get 9 million people in under 30 minutes.

<_<

Mass Effect 1: "We have to stop the Reapers coming into the galaxy!"
Mass Effect 2: "We have to stop the agents of the Reapers from creating only of them when they are still coming"
Mass Effect 3: "Oh, well they just flew here, they didn't need to use the Citadel at all. And it only took like a few years so if they'd left at the end of ME1 they would have been here by ME2, and if they'd left like 1000 years ago when the Rachni wars failed for them, they would have been here before humans invented steam power."

fixed. Yeah, feels wrong. I feel like ME2 did nothing to bring the story forward, we're left at the exact same spot ME1 left us except 2 years later! Yeah, even less time to prepare, why the hell didn't Shepard tried to do something about it instead of running around finding people in order to stop a few colonists from being abducted, to make ONE Reaper when there's already an army coming? Makes. No. Sense. I really hope we get a GOOD explanation.

I"m guessing that this Guy from trailer will playable character if Shepard dies during suicide mission.

I'm guessing that you're wrong.  Shepard is going to be in the game no matter what.  If your Shepard died in the Suicide Mission, it's game over.

Awesome.

Wonder if the soldier featured will be part of the squad.

I'm wondering that too.

They're "trying" not to kill anyone at all - they want to harvest them all to make another Reaper.  9 million is just the COLLATERAL damage of those they had to kill to suppress resistance.

Mass Effect 1: "We have to stop the Reapers coming into the galaxy!"
Mass Effect 2: "We have to stop the agents of the Reapers from letting them return to the galaxy!"

I'm guessing they're so debilitated by having to make the trip directly that there's actually a chance of defeating them in combat.

I suspect the Reapers interest in humans stems from Shepard. It's quite possible they're insisting on making a human Reaper still, and perceive humanity to be their greatest threat.

It makes absolute sense--after all, Renegade Shepard only cares about humans. He doesn't care about the rest of the galaxy. If it were the asari being attacked, a Renegade Shepard would start veering off character.

ME3.... I hope ME2 feels relevant to the trilogy. That's all I got to say.

Woah! Serious?

Otherwise I agree with your sentiment.

Is the 9 million not just London?

It can't be the whole of Earth.

Who say's this is the ending? Seems like the Reapers will be attacking all the major home worlds of each species. This could be the very begining of the game.

Oh, yeah, real mature.  Bow down to Bioware and take it up the ass while you're at it.  Just because you're a fan doesn't mean you can't criticize and doesn't mean that you have to blindly like everything they put out.

Humans aren't the most important. A single human is the most important. Shepard is human. Reapers HATE Shepard. They probably chose Earth first just to ****** him off.

Makes you wonder how long after ME2 this game takes place.

Also feels lukewarm to me. The trailer looked great, but it just felt like it was made purely for shock value, with images of destruction and war thrown in to catch people's attention.

If it just so happens that the Reapers were able to leg it back into the galaxy in a matter of months following ME2... I really hate to criticize, especially when it's just a teaser trailer, but I'm just voicing my hopes that ME3's plot doesn't cheapen the fantastic build-up of the other two.

Other than that, it looks pretty awesome. :wizard:

No, if Shepard died on the suicide mission you CANNOT IMPORT THAT SAVE INTO ME3. This has been confirmed, and it also says so during loading screens in ME2.

Not the whole Earth, just London...

Maybe because Mass Effect has always been about humanity's role and potential in the galaxy. You've been playing as a human for the whole series, doing impossible things, why is this any different?

"Oh, their batteries are running low!"

Man that would be such a huge cop-out.

The only way I think this could work is if the Reapers had to cannibalize each other for spare parts as their drives and other systems started failing on the multi-year return trip, so there are only like 30 of them left instead of the hundreds or thousands originally.

OK, bad time to announce, and probably bad date to launch. Arkham City, Witcher 2, Dragon Age 2, SWTOR and Mass Effect 3? Hard to choose a GOTY.

Wow! Was that really ingame graphics with the solider? Or did they splice acting and CG together? Now the only question is does that happen the first 5 minuets or somewhere later in the game?

Complaining about Shepard being a space marine after two games of playing Shepard as a space marine is stupid.

Complaining about the Reapers attacking Earth after Mass Effect 2 clearly established that Reapers were going after humanity specifically is also stupid.

There's nothing in that preview that wasn't easy to predict.
