Things Americans know in passing about London:

  • There's a Queen, lives in that palace with the fancy name and every Brit knows her personally.
  • Big Ben. It's there. Peter Pan flies around it.
  • If you've seen V for Vendetta, you know about the Old Bailey (whatever the hell that does) and Parliament.
  • The Thames, and it's filthy.
  • A tower, people get imprisoned in it. Maybe not anymore.
Excusing those, everything else no one (at least, no American) is bound to know.

ETA: In case anyone is curious, yes, most of it is joking sarcasm.

The best way to learn about London is the first season of Skins. :mellow::P

 Right, well, my point wasn't "Americans who do happen to know what the Eye is, post here". I'm sure plenty of you can show off your knowledge of England, but that's a bit irrelevant. Most can't.

I was just kidding. It was a play on saying something like "I can't be racist, some of my best friends are black." or "I can't be homophobic, some of my best friends are gay." I was making fun of people feeling like they needed to prove their knowledge of England.

That's what I really want to know too, how long after the first game does ME3's events/invasion(s) happen? Will the next branching DLC give us an indication? Can't wait to find out. Atleast we know the next DLC is coming within the year.

I'm not surprised that the Reapers are targeting Earth. A human has destroyed 3 Reapers and stuffed a fourth. My guess is that they (Reapers) want to stop the biggest threat they've faced in their existence.

lolwut?
1 Reaper destroyed, Sovereign, by Shepard, who took down its shields at a rather inoppurtune moment.
And then disposing of the carcass of a long dead Reaper, and of a pre-alpha one...
Woopie!

Semantics. 3. Trois. Three. Whine, b!tch, moan, crab and argue all you want; it doesn't change it. Humans cashed
Sovereign. Humans sent Derelict into the brown dwarf. Humans pooched the larval one. FACT.

Agreed. I NEVER want PVP in a game like Mass Effect. I would like Coop and treat it like Ghost recon in space with choices.:)

What does science fiction tell us? That Earth is the center of the universe.

The word you are looking for is not science fiction, but space opera.

And yes, yes it does.

I'm a little disappointed that the focus has shifted to humanity. There's a whole galaxy full of aliens, and now everything is resting on humanity's shoulders? I feel a little... I dunno, down about this I guess. I'm sure I'll still love the game, but I always liked the idea of exploring the cultures of the aliens we've come into contact now. And "humanity is the star of the universe" is nothing new.

The derelict Reaper could have been destroyed by practically anyone determined enough, it was just sitting there.  Provided they acted quickly enough to avoid indoctrination, it wouldn't have been hard.

The larval Reaper was a joke.  It's the freaking Terminator with the serial numbers filed off for god's sake.

Sovereign was the only proper Reaper killed, and even then, it would have annihilated our fleet if its shields hadn't been disabled by the destruction of Saren.

We've discussed this. Humanity is just ONE of many species under reaper threat. Unity is the only solution.
EDIT: Unless humans happen to stumble upon Starforge:P

This time the Reapers have the disadvantage of not having access to the Mass Relays.  In Mass Effect 1 the Reapers were said to have accessed the Citadel Mass Relay and destroyed all of the Prothean's Leaders and had access to their homeworld and all of their colonies.

I wouldn't say appearing out of nowhere and attacking Earth is a disadvantage.

Well, unless your talking about Sniper dude, which makes no sense because he isn't a 'Space Marine', then am assuming your trying to be funny and proclaiming that Shepard is like Master Chief. When you seem to forget that unlike Master Chief, Shepard can be a woman! Not only a woman but you can change the skin tone too. ;)

Way off base (I haven't played a single Halo game in my life). I was refering to Bioware's (and all game developers) tendency to overuse white males as gaming heroes and (in addition) not use any female counterpart of that hero figure (female shep) in their marketing.

My "space marine" comment was in reference to sniper dude, but only in a general sense. A male soldier in a sci-fi setting. Has nothing to do with Master Chief.

My apologies then, saw someone earlier on making similarites to chief and shep, so it kind of threw me.

As for Sniper dude *shrugs* badass Brit, plus also I don't think he is going to be a 'hero' I doubt if he'll even be a Squadmate.

But..but he's in the trailer. THEREFORE HE IS A SQUADMATE AND ROMANCABLE! I'M GOING TO GO WRITE FANFICS ABOUT HIM AND COMPLAIN WHY MY BOYFRIEND and/or GIRLFRIEND ISN'T LIKE HIM!

Ok, he MIGHT be like the ME2 squadmate that was in the ME2 teaser trailer, but then that means he won't be romanceable and you won't recruit him till near end of the game, so your going to get upset when you find out that he isn't. :P

My thoughts exactly.

I'm sure that ME3 will be a quality made game, because it's Bioware and they're professionals, but I'm having a real hard time not feeling seriously disappointed about this.

Yeah, but the Protheans had it even worse.  Even before they knew they were under attack all of their leaders were dead and the Reapers had the coordinates for every single one of their colonies and homeworld.

It's like when people thought Black ops was going to take place entirely in Vietnam.

Man, Bioware has got a big job on their hands: Just think, there are dozens of ways the plot could turn out + we all want different endings.

Being able to satisfy the largest possible audience is a big challange. Hope Bioware can pull it off.

That's one reason we argue on forums. To give devs an idea of what the community wants.

Yep In the end its because we argue that ME3 will probably be a kick ass game. Our theories, predictions, rants, and raves fuel their fire.

What you're saying still doesn't change what happened. So you can yap until you're blue in the face. However, it's pointless and doesn't change the facts. 3 Reapers are gone because of a human. Enjoy that dead horse.
