Oh and please don't follow your flow chart Bioware. No gathering allies and all that which is in every Bioware game please, it made DA not all that enjoyable for me to be honest as I was so sick of knowing exactly everything, before it happened and felt like I have played this game many times before, everything was just so predictable and not just story wise, if that makes sense.

It all depends on the way in which we "gather allies".  If it is the old format of doing unrelated missions for them like rescuing cats from trees, then I agree that it will be garbage.

However, suppose the game is structured like the battlefield of the Reaper war.  In this format, missions consist of Shepard interceding into larger battles in such a way that he turns the tide in that particular part of the conflict.  Completing the mission means that the forces involved are no longer under siege and are able to move to another part of the battlefield.  Perhaps we have some say of that, acting as a form of general by proxy.

This is still a "gathering allies" format.  However, it is very different because we feel like we are constantly fighting the Reaper war, instead of killing some time doing favors to make people like us.

If I were writing ME3, this is how I would structure it.

Either that or we're not going to get any new allies beyond, and this is just my theory, Liara and Kaiden/Ashley. Bioware might just give us whoever survived the suicide mission. That would, IMO, be the best route to take because it would make our actions during the end of ME2 more meaningful.

9 million dead after a whole week on Earth?

Hahahaha.

What are they doing, smothering people to death with pillows? An Ohio class submarine could get 9 million people in under 30 minutes.

<_<

Mass Effect 1: "We have to stop the Reapers coming into the galaxy!"
Mass Effect 2: "We have to stop the agents of the Reapers from letting them return to the galaxy!"
Mass Effect 3: "Oh, well they just flew here, they didn't need to use the Citadel at all. And it only took like a few years so if they'd left at the end of ME1 they would have been here by ME2, and if they'd left like 1000 years ago when the Rachni wars failed for them, they would have been here before humans invented steam power."

+1

So... if we could have found a way to delay the ****'s from invading Europe for a couple of years to prepare, it would have been pointless?  ;)  9 million dead means they got a chance to prepare defences and weapons, to group theor forces, etc.

Is there really this many closed minded people around?  A lot of this sounds like complaining for the sake of complaining.  I mean, come on, use a little imagination.  I know most of you will have skipped over my suggestion of waiting for the game before you bash the entire thing based on a one minute clip or a single paragraph of text, but come on!

Well I am sure there's a reason to attack earth (aside from the ones already mentioned in other threads and what has been done and said in ME2) as the guy said reports are coming in from other major cities, its a well coordinated attack

Actually, he says two million dead the first day, seven million dead by the end of the week.

Maybe he's just talking about London? But...still...that's incredibly pathetic.

I'm really excited for this game, and I trust Bioware to make it work. There has to be a good reason behind everything and I'm willing to wait until more information comes out. I'm just super happy right now.

Well, the Reapers don't want to kill humanity. They want to harvest them. That's probably nine million killed in the fighting. Lots more have probably been taken to be harvested.

Perhaps their goal is not to kill everyone

EDIT: Randy you beat me to it

I'm pretty sure when the guy is talking about the millions of casualties, he's probably just referring to Britian alone. As he states that they have gotten similiar reports from other major cities as well.

So depending on the number of major cities being attacked, casualties could be up in the hundreds of millions. Don't take the Reapers lightly.

@all those who reckon 7 million dead is not a lot.

That is 1.5 times the population of my country. And 10% of the total killed in WW2.

In ONE week!!!

Not really... considering that in ME3's timeframe that would probably be at least 95% of London's population dead within a week.

Earth's population:
Population (Surface): 11.4 billion
Population (L4 and L5 stations): 250,000

Current population of London:
7,556,900

I counted eight Reapers in that trailer. Assuming projections of no more than five million (assuming about 80% increase proportionate to world population boosts), the Reapers were managed to take out a bit more than half of London.

If they're talking about the entire world...hardly a drop in the bucket.

Now, if they're harvesting us, obviously it must be going slower, but I can't imagine why it'd be only nine million. There would have to be more casualities.

Probably not. The population of London proper today is about 7.5 million, with the metropolitan area being about 13-14 million. By the 2180s that number would likely have doubled or tripled.

Best Part. We just have to wait another year.

Now the question is that they have dropped this bomb...what do people see as the possible bridging material for DLC?

What bothers me about this trailer, and it really is problematic, is the "holidays" part. I'll take a holiday on the first of January in 2011 then. Give me the game. Wait that's not fair. Let me buy the game and then give it to me, I'm not going to steal from Bioware. Damned successful promotional trailers.

Yes, but that's still an inordinately small number. Besides that, he's our exposition--they're not going to be too misleading with what he tells us.

Well, Benny didn't look like an omnicient narrator or in a good position to hear the latest news. London was probably overrun by husks too.

Yeah I think they will not be adding a whole new crew, but more of everyone plus a couple more and yes I am against the format of bioware it self, that it has to be the same exact way, if they could do it (crew thing) differently then I can not judge that as I have to see it, but I get what you mean. What do you think of my other points in the whole post and not just that part?
