Wow! Was that really ingame graphics with the solider? Or did they splice acting and CG together? Now the only question is does that happen the first 5 minuets or somewhere later in the game?

Knowing BW its going to happen right away.

WTF happened to the reapers? Why are they so tiny now and how the hell did they get inside the galaxy so fast?

The entire trailer was 100% CGI.

Bioware is continuing the tradition of great characters participating in a terribly bland overarching story full of plotholes.

I'm guessing they're so debilitated by having to make the trip directly that there's actually a chance of defeating them in combat.

"Oh, their batteries are running low!"

Man that would be such a huge cop-out.

The only way I think this could work is if the Reapers had to cannibalize each other for spare parts as their drives and other systems started failing on the multi-year return trip, so there are only like 30 of them left instead of the hundreds or thousands originally.

Well, their energy reserves ARE finite, or they wouldn't have to hibernate between cullings.

But 'debilitated' doesn't have to mean low on energy.  A mass effect core has to be discharged periodically and the Reapers may have strained their operating limits during the trip from dark space.

9 million dead after a whole week on Earth?

Hahahaha.

What are they doing, smothering people to death with pillows? An Ohio class submarine could get 9 million people in under 30 minutes.

<_<

Mass Effect 1: "We have to stop the Reapers coming into the galaxy!"
Mass Effect 2: "We have to stop the agents of the Reapers from letting them return to the galaxy!"
Mass Effect 3: "Oh, well they just flew here, they didn't need to use the Citadel at all. And it only took like a few years so if they'd left at the end of ME1 they would have been here by ME2, and if they'd left like 1000 years ago when the Rachni wars failed for them, they would have been here before humans invented steam power."

I"m guessing that this Guy from trailer will playable character if Shepard dies during suicide mission.

No, if Shepard died on the suicide mission you CANNOT IMPORT THAT SAVE INTO ME3. This has been confirmed, and it also says so during loading screens in ME2.

That 9 million is just in London. And keep in mind that the Reapers are trying to harvest humans, not necessarily annihalate them.

How did the reapers get to earth anyway?

The skyline of London being attacked is so unbelievably epic.

Cannot wait.  Must, but cannot.  Argh!

I wouldn't be surprised if the narrator is a major character in the game.  Early trailers for ME2 featured Miranda, TIM, Thane, etc., and consider the roles they played.  :-)

Anyways, the Reapers are probably going after Earth first and then the rest of the galaxy. Do you people really think they are just going to wipe out humanity and then say "Lets go back to dark space"?

They're "trying" not to kill anyone at all - they want to harvest them all to make another Reaper.  9 million is just the COLLATERAL damage of those they had to kill to suppress resistance.

Exactly, I thought this was obvious given ME2, with the Reapers targeting the humans for "ascension" to join their species. THIS is why they are attacked Earth, why they want humans, and it will draw Shepard as well. I don't know why everyone was criticizing this, it follows the plot trend from ME2! I'm so stoked!!

Plus, as other have said, Elder Scrolls V, woo! What a great day for us nerds. :wizard:

Did anyone else notice how small the reapers are? I mean Sovereign was almost half the size of the Citadel, and no they're only a little bit bigger than the Big Ben? I'm confused...

Yeah. This would totally be more meaningful if the salarian homeworld was attacked instead. Just 'cause.

This is Sovereign from ME1 as you see him from the ground. Those Reapers aren't that small.

No, size looks about right. Here's a shot of Sovereign landing on Citadel tower.

Sovereign was one of the "top dog" Reapers, one of the best ones. Those are probably your average Reapers attacking Earth. I'm sure the Reapers have some sort of heirarchy or caste structure.

Yah, I'm pretty disappointed. I was hoping for a small game from Montreal before ME3.

So, ME3 reveal was a let down, but good to see another Elder Scrolls is coming.

Say wha?

lmao

Why would you want anything but MASS EFFECT 3!? How was it a let down? It looked ******* EPIC.

Maybe if you said this around the time ME1 came out I'd have had a chuckle. You're about 2 games too late buddy.

There seemed to be quite a few different reapers in that image joker gives shepherd at the end of ME2.  Perhaps they come in all shapes and sizes?
