This is only a teaser trailer lets just remember that.
Just because they release a trailer with Earth in it that doesn't mean to say we can't visit other planets.

I am in love with this trailer. You know that most of these people who are "disappointed" with the trailer are full of crap when they say they are not going to buy the game. The truth is that even if something about a sequal bugs you people still end up getting it. The thermal clip retcon bugs the hell out of me but I still play ME2 alot. I could care less if the Reapers attacked the Salarian, asari, or Turian homeworlds. I don't have a vested interest in those places. But seeing Earth in flames is personal. It triggers an emotional response because its home.

OMG, the gamer in me just died, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Gears 3, Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex 3 and Elder scrolls V in the same year, GTFO. ok back on topic, earth might only be one mission or maybe a hub world, i hope theres more DLC for ME2 that leads to ME3.

The trailer I felt was O.K. It seemed entirely predictable, and it honestly dissapointed me that they announced this game so soon, especially since they haven't announced any new dlc, since LotSB.

I sincerely hope this continues to be a singleplayer game. A multiplayer experience would just take too much away from the choices YOU are supposed to make as Shepard. There is no way they can make a Co Op mode for this game where all players would feel as righteous and immersed when making a decision as the player hosting the session. It would just be Fable 2 and 3 all over again.

I think the trailer said that Shepard was off getting help which to me says he is going around the galaxy seeking allies not sitting on earth.  But people love to jump to conclusions and assume the worst.

I fully agree with this. There is no way that you could make co-op work in a good way.

I'm still expecting a betrayal. It usually happens in epics, and Mass Effect is certainly an epic. Saren doesn't count as a betrayal, since he never knew the protagonist. Shepard could be the one that betrays another, maybe Anderson, the Alliance, or even TIM if you stuck with Cerberus.

Betrayal as in squad mates? Because Shepard has been betrayed by Udina when he was put under house arrest. Then you had Captain Ventralis in the Hot Labs, I really don't see how a betrayal of your own squadmates would really fit with the Mass Effect story. Maybe if they were mind controlled sure, or if they strongly disagreed with Renegade Shepard. But honestly, none of the squad mates except for Zaeed or Kasumi struck me as people who would betray you.

The reapers are attacking Earth because they pose the biggest threat.
Saren was caught (sorta) at Eden Prime, a human colony.
Saren hunted by Shepard & the SSV Normandy, a human commando and human ship
Sovereign destroyed by the alliance fleet, human only.
Shepard is back to life, by the human organization Cerberus
Shepard, a human, defeats the Collectors, with a mainly human crew, on Horizon and at their base.

While its not the best choice for the reapers, it is certainly plausible. Don't see why everybody's seeing this as a cop-out.

Saren was at Eden Prime because of the beacon, not the humans.
Saren was hunted by Shepard because they raised a huge fuss over a human colony being hit.
Sovereign was also attacked by the Turian fleet guarding the Citadel, it is conceivable they weaked his barriers.
Bringing someone back from the dead doesnt make an entire species more dangerous.
Shepard couldn't have beaten the Collectors without the Turian's Thanix cannon or the Quarians shield tech.

Plausible yes, after all the military targets in the galaxy were dealt with.

^ My point was that everything was done by one of more humans. The entire reason that they have to do this risky campaign rather than just warp in and destroy all galactic resistance in a week is because they stopped Saren. And the human race is obviously very innovative, seeing as they brought the dead back to life. They do seem to pose the greatest threat, and Earth is not only the largest hub of them, but their icon. Destroying it would be very demoralizing, to all races.

As Mess Sergeant Gardner put it "good ol' human ingenuity" could be their greatest conceivable threat.

If so - will we be able to? Recycling ahoy!

Nah. He wouldn't throw it off to the side if that was true.

EDIT: my guess is it's a low grade Adrenaline Boost

Well, the heatsink he pops from his rifle is much smaller than those. I think they're assumed to be some sort of panacea-injection like in many other games. Its probably coincidence that they look the same. Plus, the way heatsinks are structured would probably make it fairly poisonous to contact with the bloodstream.
