Liara the Shadow broker... obviously she isn't very good if she didn't see this reaper invasion coming.. I expect this to be set a good few years after ME2... it just wouldn't make sense otherwise

Are you talking about Uncharted 3 and Elder Scrolls 5?Steingrimur Steingrimsson wrote...
On the Shepard-as-a-simple-space-marine subject: Well, as in ME2, commander Shepard will be a galactic celebrity, but making him an Admiral would perhaps not be the best way of using his skills... He's the most dangerous and powerful man in the galaxy, giving him a title and a responsibility would only hinder him, he is beyond titles.
I am extremely hyped up about this teaser. Earth in ruins? Count me in!
But it seems Shepard will have a more important deadline than before, I hope most of the game takes place before the actual invasion, so that you can explore the galaxy and do side quests, without every second you waste affecting thousands of human lives.
But the thing that worries me the most: With all the great titles coming out, especially in the latter part of next year (Probably a dozen titles coming out 11.11.11) will truly ME3 get the attention it deserves?

EPIC! I am glad that ME3 is about Earth, but didn't understand when the game will be release. Hope for ingame trailer soon.
In case you've not read either in this topic or another one, 'Holiday 2011' is basically defined as between 'Thanksgiving' in beginning of November through to end of the 'Christmas' holidays in December/January.
Which is why, it is very, very unlikely we'll see an ingame trailer soon.
I can't remember how long between the ME2 Teaser trailer and some 'in-game' footage was. I would imagine June at the earliest for that (around time E3expo is), course part of me would thinkk it is awesome if Bioware came to the MCM Expo in London in May to show it off, but that would be wishful thinking me thinks (even if London is in the first teaser trailer).

I think Shepards triology is going to end with liberating Earth. As far as I recall they said Mass Effect as a game is no just a trilogy but Shepards story is.
Initially when I had a glance of the trailer I thought it was Jason Statham in one of those Real+ C.G. Mix trailers.
In Mass Effect 1 when the Alliance navy came to the rescue of the Citadel jumped like a kid hopefully there are more moments in this game like that one since now it is an all out war.
Just one clarification. The Alliances 5th fleet alone defeated the Reaper in the stand off, right ?
Also to people who think the threat of reaper has been shown to be weaker as the series progresses are seriously not seeing an overall picture.
ME1: Sovereign had loads of Geth and he engaged in battle only at the end to be destroyed.
ME2: Only an incomplete Reaper was defeated.
ME3: Trailer: I don't see any threatening resistance the Reapers are having on hand which means they have themselves destroyed most of the defenses,
Considering that at the ending only a small part of the world is burning I think this is a scout fleet or something down the line. I think rest are out to get the Citadel as it is still the center of all civilizations and effective resistance can be put up. All this time the Reapers have been isolating and removing worlds one by one with complete intel from the Citadel. This time there is nothing of that sort. I really wouldn't be surprised if hundreds of Reapers are killed.
Well this time at least I hope to get my good dose of Admiral Hackett. Missed him and his voice in ME2.
The EA pre-order thing said that Shepard was an Alliance Marine. So did he officially got re-instated into the Navy and left Cerberus for good ? Cause as far as I am aware in ME2 there were just rumours that he was Alive and not many knew.
Also this time I want to see the entire arsenal of Cerberus out to get the Reapers.

Can't help a Brit for being hopeful that we get fortunate to be the first to show a 2nd trailer.
Besides they could still come to MCM Expo in May and show the Teaser Trailer again on a big screen. Either that or a Pre-E3 teaser like they had last year for ME2.

I just realized that other than the dialogue, we figured out the entire trailer before it was even released. Oh fanboy geeks, what will you/we do next.
Hell yeah, but what was the red herring?

The Vostok hint. Still haven't figured that out yet.
MI6 deals directly with England, so does the band The Clash.
Two of the binary patterns made out "Mass" and "Effect" respectively.
Thats all the clues.
Maybe we begin on Vostok? Something important is found/happens there?

Yup E3 was the next big trailer after the Teaser one, with a pre-E3 teaser giving a slight nod as to what we would see in it.smithgroup wrote...
I'm sure we will see another trailer and maybe some short gameplay at E3. Same thing happened with ME2 right?
Pre-E3 trailer at MCM Expo London would be awesome as it is happening just over a week before E3.
Dunno if I've mentioned that before

That dude was just like Morpheus talking about how Neo is the only hope when machines are attacking humanity's home. If only Anderson was that dude
I can see the ending involving Shepard sending Miranda, Garrus or Ash/Kaidan on Earth with the fleet while himself (plus a team of 2) going to some Reaper centre and then entering some Overlord world in which he finds the person who controls Reapers. And that person is Saren...

The shot of the gunships and the Reapers in the sky over the Thames blew me away. I hope Bioware bring that level of art direction to the game.
I'm totally pumped and will be taking a weeks leave from the day ME3 hits stores.

I believe he was only talking about London. I mean he first said "2 million dead in the first day. Another 7 within the first week." then he said "reports are coming in from other major cities". So the 7 million is probably just from London and its surroundings.adam_grif wrote...
9 million dead after a whole week on Earth?
Hahahaha.
What are they doing, smothering people to death with pillows? An Ohio class submarine could get 9 million people in under 30 minutes.

The dude talking in the trailer:
Was that Richard Armitage?
At first I thought it sounded like Simon Pegg but my sister told me to shut up and said it was definitely him. It does kinda sound like him. Has anyone figured it out yet? I can't be bothered to look through 33 pages because I'm lazy and it's too early.
Could be, but it sounds just a little different to him imho.
I think it's Greg Ellis, he even looks a bit like the guy too. He's worked with Bioware before and done plenty of Military roles both in live action and as VA. he was in Star Trek, the cocky guy who went down with Sulu and Kirk to knock out the Mining platform.
I'm convinced it's Richard Armitage.Shinannigan wrote...
That could be a further explanation for the SIS clue. After all, Armitage plays the boss of MI5 in Spooks.Calla S wrote...
Holy crap, he DOES sound like Richard Armitage! I didn't even think about Armitage, and I've been a fan of his for a while now. If it is RA doing the voice work, the chances that he's just some face/voice for a trailer is slim to none. It really would be a waste, and I don't think BW would do such a thing. They know good voice work when they snag it.JRCHOharry wrote...
Great signatures! I'm definitely going to add them :DCan anyone hazard a guess to who the voice actor might be?My sister guessed that it was Richard Armitage. It does sound A LOT like him, if Bioware were able to hire him for just a trailer I'd be surprised. I mean, he's pretty big in England. Such a waste to use his voice for 2 minutes!
Also, thank you! Glad you like 'em!

Crysis 2 anyone?
Same idea, just unfortunate that its coming out a few months earlier. I expect it to be totally different though, considering just the technological differences, and the intimidating threat of aliens in Crysis as opposed to theself-proclaiming God race thats killed people that number into the astronomical mark. Undertones will probably be different too. I'm guessing Crysis 2 will be a more "survival" theme whereas ME3 will be "here's your enemy. blow them up". Either way I'm grabbing both

I imagine that after I beat ME3 with my 12 current profiles, I'll be playing it a lot more myself. Who said they didn't have replayability.
