I wonder if we'll get a few new arty wallpapers sometime over the next couple of weeks of some possible locations. Remember how we got the Illium and Aeia wallpapers pretty much right after the Legion teaser?

IDK, but I find it ironic the EA store hasn't posted anything on it yet

The dude talking in the trailer:
Was that Richard Armitage?
At first I thought it sounded like Simon Pegg but my sister told me to shut up and said it was definitely him. It does kinda sound like him. Has anyone figured it out yet? I can't be bothered to look through 33 pages because I'm lazy and it's too early.
Could be, but it sounds just a little different to him imho.
I think it's Greg Ellis, he even looks a bit like the guy too. He's worked with Bioware before and done plenty of Military roles both in live action and as VA. he was in Star Trek, the cocky guy who went down with Sulu and Kirk to knock out the Mining platform.I'm convinced it's Richard Armitage.Shinannigan wrote...
That could be a further explanation for the SIS clue. After all, Armitage plays the boss of MI5 in Spooks.Calla S wrote...
Holy crap, he DOES sound like Richard Armitage! I didn't even think about Armitage, and I've been a fan of his for a while now. If it is RA doing the voice work, the chances that he's just some face/voice for a trailer is slim to none. It really would be a waste, and I don't think BW would do such a thing. They know good voice work when they snag it.JRCHOharry wrote...
Great signatures! I'm definitely going to add them :DCan anyone hazard a guess to who the voice actor might be?My sister guessed that it was Richard Armitage. It does sound A LOT like him, if Bioware were able to hire him for just a trailer I'd be surprised. I mean, he's pretty big in England. Such a waste to use his voice for 2 minutes!
Also, thank you! Glad you like 'em!
It's Richard Armitage - that totally would explain the British Secret Service clue. Good call.
And yeah, if so, that would suggest a major role. Perhaps coordinating the (multiplayer?) resistance on Earth while Shepard recruits allies.

I thought he is the lad who voiced Bann Vaughan in Dragon Age : Origins.

I'm also concerned about the did you just punch out cthulu trope, Sovereign's barriers stopped everything thrown at him for ages, so I fail to see how an army of these uber machines could be stopped by the relatively inferior armies of the lesser races, it.. well it seems overly heroic to the point of stupid but meh.

Don't forget Dead Space 2. Crysis 2 may pull a trick out of their hat as well. Gears of War poses a mainly fanboyismm threat-doesn't seem all that special from what I've seen.

Yeah, it's the weekend, so the staff probably won't update anything until at least Monday. Well, Monday for Americans and Canadians that is (since it already is Monday here now).
As an additional note, I think what made me the happiest about the teaser trailer was not so much what I saw but what I didn't see: Cerberus or TIM.

Why do people say that "holidays' means the game will be released between november and december 2011? IGN claims it's Q1 2011. Well and I hope they are right.
IGN is wrong. No release date. If they don't know the release date, they usually just mark it for the nearest quarter. Happens all the time. All the other websites do it too. Besides, you don't seriously think they're going to release a game less than 18 months in the making? Activision doesn't even cash cow that bad with CoD.

I am sufficiently pleased.
9mil casualties? If it's the UK alone, I guess they aren't harvesting at all and are just blowing Humanity up.
If it's worldwide, they *REALLY* want to make a human Reaper.
Oh, and don't forget a human fleet killed Sovereign, the Reapers aren't invincible by current (in-universe) methods, only really, really tough.
They get their true strength by resorting to infiltration methods (indoctrination), blitz attacks (eden prime, citadel, collector attacks) and information blackout (using the races' center of power -citadel- to create confusion and information deficiency, sending the whole defensive structure of said races into disarray and panic). They just reap (bad pun) the benefits of that chaos. This is why they are so powerful and seemingly unstoppable. "Information is power", after all.
Still, they got their attack strategy thrown out the window twice. By the same human. Not an asari, not a turian, not a salarian, not a coallition; no, a single human did that. If someone has trouble understanding why the Reapers have their opticals on Humanity, mull on that one for a while.
The Reapers' greatest asset and strength was made unavaiable to them, and to me, that was the whole point of preventing Sovereign from activating the Citadel Relay: not only did it buy us some time, it crippled their whole strategy and combat efficiency.
Still, they deemed this strategy so vital to their combat power that they decided to replace Sovereign with another Reaper so that it could activate the Citadel Relay for them, and we thwarped that attempt too, and now the Reapers got desperate and went on a full-blown war/revenge mode (the game itself will show which it is).
Oh, and, in case you didn't hear BioWare, or weren't playing the games, the original Mass trilogy is suppose to be about Humanity and its place in the galaxy, especially Shepard's.
tl;dr: haters gonna hate.

The SIS thing could just be a reference to the character, if it was to do with Actors who are playing the role, then you could easily tag a few other people to it, such as Sean Bean who was 006 in Goldeneye, Matthew McFayden who of course was in Spooks before Richard Armitage was, I could go through a whole slew of actors in such roles.UltraBoy360 wrote...

I still think it is Greg Ellis, he can do that voice (even if he sounds completely different as Anders), he voiced one of the SAS guys in the SOCOM series and he looks a fair bit like the trailer dude too. He's also played Goverment agents in programs.

Also I don't think the death toll is very high yet as with any operation you dont send in your best units when you don't have a clear picture of the problem. They have probably got some ground troops on recon but due to the scale of it, it's more like a small army.
And finally I really don't think earth is the only one getting invaded, a lot of people seem to thing that its just the special humans that are getting invaded. But most likely they didn't show all the other worlds which are being invaded for marketing appeal. You can tell it's earth if your new to the series but not even some mass effect regulars would be able to tell what the asari home world looks like.

Since both Simon Pegg and Sean Bean have done video game voices before it could be either. (I would prefer Sean Bean though

Considering he talks of the death toll then says other reports coming in from other CITIES, that to me is indication he is talking about London itself.Whereto wrote...
Wow just reading the comments, people are very critical of something they really don't know much about yet. I don't even get where the comment, the reapers don't look as big as they should be comes from. I have to say they look pretty god damn huge considering they probably come in many different sizes with some smaller than others.

9 million dead in London... Unless london population took a big rise between now and then, that is a high death toll. So all the people talk about the Reapers being slow, erm... if they just attacking London, maybe but from that space shot of Shep looking at Earth, rest of the planet didn't look too great.
