The derelict Reaper in ME2 had its Mass Effect core active for 37 million years continuously without opportunity for discharge or refueling, to prevent it from falling into the star.

That 9 million is just in London.

Do you have any evidence to support that? How do you know he wasn't talking about England, or the United Kingdom, or Europe, or the Northern Hemisphere, or the entire Globe?

Quite you haters jumping to conclusions from only a teaser, could easily be a few reapers on the Earth theyre prob hitting EVERY races' homeworld at once



For the death toll considering the reapers are just descending right now its possible the death toll from before was just husks or indoctrinated people, a more secret offensive to start off and weaken Earth's defensed would make more sense. Now that the actually reapers themselves are coming down thats sure to change, I mean look you got the red lasers instantly trashing London, the death toll is sure to rise.



Also, as has been said this could very well be only the beginning of the game, and before haters go "WELL HURR THE EA SHOP SAID RECRUIT TO SAVE EARTH HURR" same thing, can still be Earth at the beginning and final showdown takes place on a completely desolate Earth (though id like the final showdown to be somewhere else myself).



All in all though I trust bioware! go bioware! Psyched for this!

Also, not too appealing trailer. Greys, dirt, guns, an earth city being destroyed by evil robot aliens, bald spehs muhreen. Been there, done that.

Uh....Those Reapers are about the correct size. Play through ME 1 again and pay attention during the assault on Eden prime. More importantly compare it's size to the Turian ships it charged through. I'm pretty sure you'll see that the size shown in this vid is accurate.

He says "Don't know what those things are" as he shoots it, implying it's probably some kind of Reaper footsoldier or Husk or unknown alien species helping the Reapers.

The only way I think this could work is if the Reapers had to cannibalize each other for spare parts as their drives and other systems started failing on the multi-year return trip, so there are only like 30 of them left instead of the hundreds or thousands originally.

Yes I want to see them cannibalizing themselves! But maybe this is the first wave a small strike force if you will hitting the homeworlds then the second and final waves will roll in. kind of like a bombing run you don't send the entire bombing force out you send them in large teams to hit the enemy like a tsunami until they cave. If this is indeed a small strike force as long as they don’t forget about the major army during 3 and we get to take on all waves and then the final full set then that would be good with me.

I get the feeling that teaser takes place around the middle or 3/4 the way into the game itself. ME3 will probably start with Shepard getting an advance warning (probably from Liara) that the Reapers were spotted and on their way to Earth. Shepard rushes to organize the citadel races and get their military support while Shepard him/herself embarks on a quest simultaneously to get an ace up their sleeve for the actual confrontation.

I know this because he talks about the body count before he talks about "reports from other cities." If he was talking about the world's entire casualties he would have said it after "reports from other cities." Common sense. Besides do you really think the Reapers would have only killed 9 million in a week? That's plausible if you're talking about an entire city or maybe even country, but not the whole world.
