As its been said before, the 9 million is just London. As of 2010, London has a population around 7,500,000. Now lets say the population of London in the future is 16 million, that would leave it a population of 7 million after a week of attacks.LGST wrote...
So... I hoped the trailer will be much longer and contain more information about game. Despite it, this trailer is mind blowing. Destroyed London and entire Earth by Reapers, BUT, the narrator tells, that 9 millions died in the first week of attack. Isn´t it little number for alien, mechanic race, which is nearly indestructible? Or are they just destroying our defence forces and they will transform us into another gigantic Reaper?
What do you think? Are Reaper attacking other planets?
And I hope, there will by some epic, heroic and sad ending, when the whole Normady crew including Shepard will die.
Not to play the devil's advocate but that hasn't been confirmed. Likely? Very much so. Confirmed to be fact? Who knows Bioware may have left us a clue why only 9 million are dead so far.

I HOPE, that MAC WALTERS won´t be the lead writer of the story in ME3. Karpsyshyn is working on new SW game, so i think, he won´t have time for ME3, what is really sad. The story in the first ME was amazing, but in ME2 we were collenting girls with big ******, who can kick Reaper´s ass. Really "amazing" story dammit

In the trailer, who is sniper guy shooting at? I've watched it a few times and it looks like he is killing asari. That part was a tad bit confusing. Can anyone give some insight?

Ok, maybe the place of final battle doesn't matter really but I'd like to fight over some giant space station(bigger than citadel) or the Reapers planet. You'll probably won't agree but I think that the general idea for the game as "saving Earth" is kinda bad. Doesn't "saving the galaxy" sounds better? For me saving the Earth should first part of the game. As soon as it's safe we can focus on kicking the Reapers asses for real.The-Person wrote...
So where should the final battle be? The citatdel? We have done that already in the first game. Another aliens planet? How would that work if the main character is a Human and Earth is being attacked as well?Antidarra wrote...
I just hope that our final ME3 mission won't take place on Earth. Don't you think that's kinda annoying? We try to rescue galaxy in ME1, human colonies in ME2 and Earth in ME3. So what? If we get the ME4 (I know it's a trilogy) we will try to rescue a city, country, nation?

Should we make a group, the "Mass Effect 3 Speculation Group", so to speak? Everything there would be plenty organized
Yep, good idea

I think it's a husk, but I could be wrong.

Nobody is really sure. Some say a husk, some collector, some turian. Personally I think it was holding some sort of weapon in the hand, so I don't think it was a husk, and I thought its head was a bit to small to be a collector. I would think that its either an indoctrinated person, just some guy taking advantage of the situation, or another species that the Reapers genetically tailored.
Thats just my opinion though, we won't know for a while what it really is.

I think it was husk. Reapers has lot of them, so they can use them as ground forces.

Then the whole narration does not make sense, you don't say we lost 9 million are dead and than say we are getting reports in from other major cities. You would say we got report from outher major cities and then say we lost 9 million.NvVanity wrote...

I'm assuming that when the soldier says "2 million in the first day, another 7 million in the first week", he was referring to London, not the entire world. I want that guy s a squad member though- 2011 can't come soon enough!
I would go for that too, or Great Britian as a whole.
The Earth has 11.4 billion people in 2185. If there's more attacks on major cities around the globe, casualties have to be 9 figures (100,000,000), at least.

So, no info about who's voicing the brit guy? Dominic Monaghan was at the VGA and when I heard the brit guy I immediately thought it was him, and I still do.
Great now I have to watch the trailer another dozen times until I convince myself it's him! Love Dominic Monaghan.
Not that watching that trailer is a bad thing, yum.

It could be that Earth is first to be attacked, giving you enough time to recruit races and do side quests elsewhere and by the end of the game it will have spread else where.Antidarra wrote...

That's funny, I remember ME 2 being a little more detailed than that. I thought Marc and Drew both did a fantastic job. If you ask me, the character development was a lot better in the second game. Befriending and subsequently aiding each character in a quest led to us knowing quite a bit about each individual party member before game's end.

Yes, yes, in fact, the story in ME2 was a little different, that i wrote, but it I was really dissapointed. Story in ME1 was much better.
And yes, attidute to crew members was a little different in ME2, but sometimes it feel i was playing some space telenovela, where everyone has so huge problems.

That may be true. Do you remember first ME2 trailer? A geth in N7 armor and information about Shepard's death. I remember being scared and upset like hell;) Probably this trailer has also little to do with the general story. Only the info about the game from ea store bothers me a little. <_< Well, we'll get more details soon.The-Person wrote...

I remember the first ME2 trailer . . . teaser so to speak . . . it was confusing . . . Shepard is dead? We was wondering . . . Same here for ME3 imho . . . confusion . . . but every thing is going to be all right . . . BioWare never failed before with big projects, yes?
I guess they were going for the shock value.
When the Legion trailer premiered, everyone was like "OMG! Shepard's dead!" so that drew people in to this game, and really when everyone tuned in to the trailers and realized that indeed Shep's alive and is really to whup some Collector behind. Then came the amazing ME2.
Now, here the shock value returns, Earth is under attack, and Shepard needs to come and save the day.
A teaser definately teases

Even more likely. That makes more sense then 9 million dead in London! This is precisely what will happen in Mass Effect 3!
