I wouldn't worry about it. I think if you take ME 2's story as a whole, you would agree that it did a lot to move the story forward. Characters aside, it did give us a lot of new plot elements as well as established some older ones such as The Illusive Man, Cerberus and the Collectors.LGST wrote...

I HOPE, that MAC WALTERS won´t be the lead writer of the story in ME3. Karpsyshyn is working on new SW game, so i think, he won´t have time for ME3, what is really sad. The story in the first ME was amazing, but in ME2 we were collenting girls with big ******, who can kick Reaper´s ass. Really "amazing" story dammit
That's funny, I remember ME 2 being a little more detailed than that. I thought Marc and Drew both did a fantastic job. If you ask me, the character development was a lot better in the second game. Befriending and subsequently aiding each character in a quest led to us knowing quite a bit about each individual party member before game's end.
Yes, yes, in fact, the story in ME2 was a little different, that i wrote, but it I was really dissapointed. Story in ME1 was much better.
And yes, attidute to crew members was a little different in ME2, but sometimes it feel i was playing some space telenovela, where everyone has so huge problems.

I was under the impression that Mr. Karpsyshyn already had his contribution to all three ME games, i.e. the general story has been penned down by him? I could be wrong, though.
On topic: Best trailer ever. And I also thought the one shot down looked like a Turian.

i hope it's a DLC prelude for mass effect 2 before mass effect 3 is released... maybe introducing new characters in a Mass Effect 2 DLC, like the guy in that teaser trailer...so that we're familiar with him in Mass Effect 3 already... i'm so excited and happy. :-)

Ah yes, Illusive Man and Cerberus. It´s true, ME2 offered many new information, but when I compare atmosphere, gradation, or philosophicall message, ME1 is winner in this comparsion. Both games has great story, but in ME1 it was much better.

So, no info about who's voicing the brit guy? Dominic Monaghan was at the VGA and when I heard the brit guy I immediately thought it was him, and I still do.
Great now I have to watch the trailer another dozen times until I convince myself it's him! Love Dominic Monaghan.
Not that watching that trailer is a bad thing, yum.
The fate of the world rests on a hobbitt???? Oh no!

It's probably because it was more character focused then ME1. ME3 will probably be closer to ME1 in terms of how the main story is the focus.LGST wrote...

For those that are warning that the teaser may not have anything to do with the story, you may be right. But the KIA teaser for ME 2 had a pretty significant tie in to the main story if you ask me. Will this be the underlying theme for the game - maybe not, but I would not be surprised if it is included somehow.
For something new...what surprises me the most about the trailer is the sniper's absolute lack of any knowledge of what a "Reaper" is...I mean if any galactic society would be informed of what a "Reaper" or "Saren's Flagship" looked like...you would think that it would be humanity. But his lack of understanding seems to suggest that the people of earth have not been informed of galactic events - is this possible?

Could certainly be Sean Bean, although his accent is usually a tad different from that. The render doesn't look like Stratham though lol. I suppose when you live here and you see those facial features in so many british men, the actual differences between them is more apparent *shrugs*
Sometimes that is the problem with perspective...we all see what we want to see...I didn't really see Statham until I paused the teaser at specific points - with doing that like I said, there is a resemblance to me. But in action it looks nothing like Statham...I wonder if if the sniper had been bald if it would have made a difference.
I am gonna go see if I can find any sound clips of Sean Bean to listen to...

Good point. But if I remember correctly both the human and the alien council continue to dismiss the reapers as myth in ME2. For the puplic the citadel incident was still a geth attack.

I'm hopeful it happens early on in the game and something catostrophic happens. Like Shep is able to save some people but Earth is a lost cause and is destroyed then the rest of the game is Shepard warning/saving/recruiting all the various races for one final huge space battle.Fromyou wrote...
Wait so if Earth is getting attacked by the Reapers then how are you going to explore the galaxy if you have to save earth
