I wonder if those Medi-Gel injectors are a new game feature, one time use items that could restore you to full heath instantly instead of waiting for health to recharge.

We already have that feature, but it's an omni-tool animation that's used instead.

He seems to "sharpen up" after injecting it. Maybe that's how soldiers get the time stopping rush.

If you're talking about Shep's time dilation thing - I think that's more to do with her ocular synaptic processors (maybe they're implants), which only "high level operatives" get.

It's probably just medi-gel.  It's not like he turned into Neo after injecting it.  Plus he injected it into his leg wound.  So it's kinda obvious really.

This. Stop overthinking it. And medi-gel probably has some sort of adrenaline boost in it, since it is useful when dealing with most medical situation (see Pulp Fiction?)

Random thoughts: This is the teaser trailer for mass effect 2:

It definitely shows very little of the plot of the game. The invasion of earth says nothing.

second, watching the trailer, it talks about 2 million dying in the first day, 7 million more in the first week. That is a relatively small number. However, the trailer also says "reports are coming in from other cities", meaning that the 9 million dead only refers to london deaths, and not earth deaths. Should be a good game. looking forward to it.

Probably been said before: I don't think the Reapers will be gone after this game. Shepard will sacrifice himself or something and that way they can say they finished the trilogy of our John, but still continue the fiction. What do you guys think? It's just a thought that crossed my mind.

Everyone is really going off about this whole Earth thing, like the whole game is going to be set around saving Earth.

First of all we know NOTHING about the game, so we can't really judge. For all we know Earth might fall, as cool as that would be :)

Also, we may not even spend as long as you think on Earth. Who knows if its the final battle? It could even be the start.

I hope not.  I know this sounds harsh, but I think it would be a waste of the trilogy if she didn't finish the mission she set out to complete.  They don't necessarily have to be utterly annihilated, but at the very least I expect the cycle to be permanently broken and the threat of the reapers completely removed.

I imagine the ending to be like the movie Indepenence Day. We only see one will counter-attack, and the rest happens off-stage. Maybe the races could be pretty much guaranteed to win by the finale, and we just end like that, knowing that it will happen, eventually.

Im really excited about the game but this trailer kinda disapointed me, I was hoping for a better reveal trailer full of shots, powers and dead bodys but that's ok, trailers are just made to get us impatiant about the game, I dont want Bioware losing much time making trailers :D

Nah, that would be such a crap ending. I think Bioware will want to make this ending really epic and thus I believe we will destroy the reapers at huge cost. There's more than enough to do with the Mass Effect world without reapers being a constant threat, it may even enrich the universe.

I still don't get why Sir Snipe-alot is so clueless about "What they are, or what they want". It is a fleet of ships that all look like Saren's flagship. And he obviously they are not geth. You should think that a few people on the planet (especially in the military) would draw the conclusion that these things are actual reapers. Even if there were only rumors about it before. I mean it is not that there was a conspiracy or an active effort to conceale the truth. You could deny they existed but their existence was always in the air.

But we shouldn't read too much into this teaser. Maybe all of this will never happen wenn you go the ultimate paragon path.

Also: Iwant a fluffy kitten-shaped reaper as squadmate for ME3

If i recall when you talk to Jacob he tells you how after Shepard died there was a big cover up in the Allience over the things he said about the Reapers. Not everyone has seen Sovereign and the ones who did were probbaly told it was a geth flagship as part of the cover up. Jacob states he left to join Cerberus because of their covering up of the truth.

So ity's really not so unusual that their is a lot of confusion about the Reapers.

Just a few thoughts about the reapers swift arrival-

Many are asking "If they could have got back so fast by normal means, why try to take control of the citadel or use the collectors?" There are a few theories out there that a Galaxy has a sort of 'barrier' that would make travel into and out of a Galaxy very difficult. Perhaps this 'barrier', maybe a Gravitic distortion from the sheer mass of the Galaxy, makes it nigh on impossible and potentially destructive for the Reapers to try FTL into the Galaxy. Also, the Citadel is the heart of the Mass Relay network. They wanted that so they could paralyze the Galactic community, who have not even tried to build their own Mass Relays at this point.. Flying into the Galaxy in this way is likely a last resort measure, and attacking humanity makes good tactical sense. Their 'champion' has defeated their plans twice, they have grown in power in the Galaxy remarkably fast, and their expansion, while not on a par with pre-genophage krogan, is still impressive, therefore why they have needed to colonise so much of the Terminus Systems. also, one of the Codex entries makes a note that, compared to the other races, humanity has a very low recruitment percentage into the armed forces (3%, I think). Therefore, as we see the human armed forces are a force to be reckoned with even with that, the human race has a lot of potential to be a threat, if allowed to mobilise.

Yeah I'll be really p'd off it plays out like a cheesy hollywood alien invasion film... Space is the main stage, not Earth.

I'll say again, I'm hoping Earth is just an early mission, and then for the rest of the game deal with the entire galaxy.  I'm hoping this stays space opera and not feel like independance day, war of the worlds or crysis, etc, etc.

Medigel is the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it being used on his wound.

I meant Medigel of ME1, not ME2.

I'm old-fashoned when it comes to health.  I miss the old days playing Doom or Call of Duty when your health was near death and you needed to be perfect to survive to the next area.

Really things like that sharpen your skills when you think about it.  This new generation of Halo-type regenerative health kind of takes away from the difficulty.

It's not a biggie, though notable.  I hope we have some sort of ME1-type medigel system in ME3.

If the Medigel works like Battlefield Bad company I think it would be interesting.

But do they even know what reapers are? At the beginning of ME1 not even Commander Shepard had any real clue as to what they are, only a vague guess. And even the people, such as Liara, that knew a bit more about the reapers didn't recognize Sovereign as one. Since the council claimed they were attacked by geth, and never mentioned the existance of reapers (I assume), why would a soldier on Earth fighting for his life in a ruined old clock tower ever come up with the thought that they were being attacked by the same species that supposedly wiped out the protheans?

I hoped that made sense. It's late and I'm tired.

I really enjoyed that vid, and I'm hoping Shepard does have to make contact with the sniper, I'd like to fight in the major cities as well as in space.

I noted some folk asking how the reapers got there, I've not read all the replies so perhaps someone as already mentioned this, check out the local cluster, specifically mars, perhaps a clue to how the reapers got to earth?

Well, the folk who made the trailer were most probably given very limited info on the game, so I wouldn't worry about such details.  Look at the previous trailers Blur made for ME.  They're not consistent with the story and are just designed to whet the appetite.  Which it has (my head nearly exploded when I watched the trailer).

What do you mean?  The only notable thing on Mars was the Prothean research outpost that they used to study early ****** sapiens.  There was a bunch of data caches and craft with the eezo still working.

I don't think there could be a portal somewhere there like the Citadel relay.
