It would be funny if this is how Shepard finds out about the attack,

"Hey EDI can we mine any Palladium from Earth-oohhhh ****, lets uhhhhh, lets mine another planet"

ROLF!

Awesome trailer, but the overall plot reminds me of the begining of Halo 2 :/

Elder scrolls 5.... jesus. That made me so happy.

ME3.... I hope ME2 feels relevant to the trilogy. That's all I got to say.

Unlikely.

I'm guessing the Collectors were all just a batman gambit by the Reapers to distract us, and the collector base will be useless, meaning that the ME2 story decisions are taken care of.

For ME1's story choices, they just need to have the Reapers succeed in opening the citadel relay and wipe out the galactic government, all problems solved!!!

Uh....Those Reapers are about the correct size. Play through ME 1 again and pay attention during the assault on Eden prime. More importantly compare it's size to the Turian ships it charged through. I'm pretty sure you'll see that the size shown in this vid is accurate.

Haters just love making uninformed criticisms to confuse people.

I know this because he talks about the body count before he talks about "reports from other cities." If he was talking about the world's entire casualties he would have said it after "reports from other cities." Common sense. Besides do you really think the Reapers would have only killed 9 million in a week? That's plausible if you're talking about an entire city or maybe even country, but not the whole world.

He says 2 million + 7 million entirely separate from "reports have come in from other major cities". For all you know that's how he arrived at the total figure! He certainly didn't say anything liek "2 million dead in London" or "7 million by the end of the week, plus god knows how many more in other cities".

I'm just gonna put this out there, to try to get through all of the nerdgasms and hate. (why the hell are people hating on ME3 already?)

Anyway, it looks to me like all of the reapers have just arrived in London but it's already half blow to bits. So according to that I'm pretty sure the Reapers sent some sort of advance strike to weaken earth. Whether that was husks and Praetorians or w/e, theres more going on here then we know.

Mixed feelings about the tralier. Kind of badass, but I don't want to see ME3 all grey and washed out like much of that was (though I suppose one could say "London" as justification for that...). There are enough games as it is like that that are either Gears of War grey or dull and brown.

Much depends on how literal the trailer is: whether this is something that's really going on from the start, something near the end or what. For starters, there's the whole plot of ME1: if The Reapers can just so easily and quickly attack Earth en masse like that, then it kind of makes a complete mockery of the first part, which is why it depends purely on the context. The first teaser for ME2, after all, wasn't particularly literal and had more questions within it than answers, so I suspect this is the same. If this really is literal, the main question I want answered is: how did The Reapers get there so quickly given ME1's plot.

Finally, given how badass the Reapers have been purported to be, I didn't think Earth (or any homeworld for that matter) would seriously be able to hold it's own and stand up to them for more than a few days. If ME3 really does have this as the start of it and you're spending months traveling around the galaxy recruiting allies and saving kittens in-between, would there really be anything left to come back to?

If that's how he arrived at that number he would have tied it in with the reports from other major cities. He didn't.

If it's 9 million throughout the world, then it's just bad writing.

Heck, after ME 2 I'm just glad Bioware remembered that the Reapers were the major villain in the series!

Not like we'll be spending much of the game on Earth. Hell, the Reapers might not even show up until the very end.

I look forward to going to all the different homeworlds of the different species.

The greying of the trailer is just the CG style, the mass effect 2 CG trailer was the same way.

I don't recall it being that grey, unless you mean the Legion teaser. The ME2 CG trailer was pretty bright, especially the parts with Miranda and TIM at the console and Thane on Illium.

I just showed my brother this trailer and the first thing he said mid-way was, "Another Halo Game!"

I am still laughing.

I'd say X-mas 2011 or early 2012.

It says Q1 2011 at game trailers. Thats early next year.

Really? looked like two digit feet when it hit the ground.

Awesome though. I got psyched. Then I realized we're smack in the middle of Holiday 2010. What a long, painful wait it will be.

Says "holiday 2011" on the trailer itself.  Therefore, this time next year.

I'm hoping that's just London.  Considering the Reapers are lovecraftian horrors from beyond the galaxy, I think the body count of them attacking our puny blue planet should be a little higher than a few million.

The Combine killed billions of people in just 7 hours, and I'll be damned if the Reapers can't beat that figure...

That 9 million is just in London.

Do you have any evidence to support that? How do you know he wasn't talking about England, or the United Kingdom, or Europe, or the Northern Hemisphere, or the entire Globe?

Because when wars suddenly happen there is an information and communications problems and it gets very confined to your local area. Any stations up and running will say what they know if one says 9 million then for now you just accept its 9 million. He could've been there for days for all we know but no world wide news is going to filter into his location through stations he's going to be able to get what London or England in general have for dead not say Canada it is not pertinent to the local area.

If that's how he arrived at that number he would have tied it in with the reports from other major cities. He didn't.

He only mentioned other cities as part of saying "it's a well coordinated attack". I don't think we can draw anything conclusive about the figures based on his speech.

If it's 9 million throughout the world, then it's just bad writing.

If what others have said about them not trying to just destroy everything is true, then the number is much more reasonable. The attack MUST be slow for story purposes, because otherwise Shepard wouldn't have enough time to gather allies and push them back off the planet.
