After the events of Shadow Broker, Liara mentioned that her predecessor thought that the Protheans had other plans, so I hope that doesn't include a 'Kill All Reapers Button'. But I trust BioWare to make the trilogy end right.
And fighting in the ruins of London town? That's awesome.

Yeah, I like how the trailer really sets a tone distinctive from the first two games. Looks pretty dark to me.

Also feels lukewarm to me. The trailer looked great, but it just felt like it was made purely for shock value, with images of destruction and war thrown in to catch people's attention.
If it just so happens that the Reapers were able to leg it back into the galaxy in a matter of months following ME2... I really hate to criticize, especially when it's just a teaser trailer, but I'm just voicing my hopes that ME3's plot doesn't cheapen the fantastic build-up of the other two.
Other than that, it looks pretty awesome.
Who is to say they didn't start legging it back after Soverign died in ME1? We don't know.
I am stoked for this game. We all knew it was going to Earth sooner or later. I mean it was obvious. They never let us visit our home planet in eaither the first two games.

The speculation is awesome, so I'm gonna add to it. Assuming Reaper's can't magically reach the Sol system through some Dark Energy mcGuffin; they will have had to come through the Arcturus Relay and therefore through the Arcturus station (home base of the Alliance) - could the reason Shepard is gathering Alien races in ME3 be because the Alliance has all but been wiped out?
My other predictions is that he Earth Attack is one of several Reaper incursions into the galaxy - the Vanguard prior to the arrival of their entire race.
Oh, and (sorry!) the multi-player will be the battle for Earth as Shepard tours the galaxy gathering allies.
Everything in the trailer clicked perfectly for me - I'm really surprised by people ****ing about human focus, Reaper's attacking earth, a DA:O-like gather allies campaign... etc. I feel like some people played a different ME1 and 2 to me - because the (very) little we know so far seems to be the perfect, thematic end to the series. Case in point - gathering alien allies to save humanity's homeworld: Ashley gave the arguably racist, certainly cynical 'sick your dog on your bear' speech in ME1, this combined with the resentment the rest of the galaxy feels towards humanity's super-fast rise and the challenge facing Shepard - to unite the Alien races to protect Earth - well to be, this could be the more perfect overall character and story arc for my Shepard.

Totally agree - I reckon post Sovereign disaster they implemented plan B (Collector's build human reaper with an end-game of it (I guess) opening the Citadel mass relay) and plan C - dispatch (suidice squad?) vanguard of, say 100 Reaper's to enter the Milky Way directly (possibly weakened by dark space, and their journey) to create a beach-head on Earth and move on to attack and open the Citadel relay. I don't belive that the beginning on ME3 is the full-on Reaper invasion - it would be impossible to win.

MASS EFFECT 3 THE GREATEST GAME EVER MADE, IM CALLING IT

I love Mass Effect to pieces, but I need to be honest. I'm extremely disappointed by what I've seen sofar. Very, and I'm actually kind of sad. Literally sad. I cannot believe that there is going to be such a focus on Earth in this final game. I know people will counter-argue that the Reapers are focusing on humanity because they perceive them as a threat (remember, we are only like bacteria to Reapers), but I was told that Reapers would darken the sky of "every world".
Maybe the Reapers were given a characterization of such power that anything would be a letdown, a testament to BioWare genius in developing characters. Because let's face it, unless you did what Martin Sheen (spoiler sidestep) wanted you to, the Reapers should be able to destroy Earth within days. Complete eradication. Any other outcome is a weak lessening of characterization, and a large letdown for a great developer who focuses on characterization. Our atomic bombs can kill more people in 15 seconds than Reapers killed in one week, and they are gods compared to us. There needs to be airtight explanations in-story.
The biggest letdown and cause of my disappointment is, as mentioned by many of my fellow fans, is the focus on Earth. Now, yes, assessing storyline, I can see an obvious focus on humanity. We are humans who discovered mass effect technology, and are discovering ourselves in a new golden age, but for the Reapers. But like many others, I have also groomed my Shepard to be seeking to make humanity an equal group among a civilization spanning the galaxy, not dominant or superior. We may be viewed as superior by the Reapers, based upon our actions, and rightfully so...I mean, yeah, we are probably the only species ever to give them fits. But the focus to Earth and humanity? It is glaring apparent. In the story of Mass Effect we players are escaping that boring blue planet we live on to explore space. We see earth every day. We work our assessing of on that planet to get by. We live and die on Earth. Earth becoming a focal point subconsciously shifts our perception of the Mass Effect IP away from the rest of the galaxy, thus consciously making the universe feel smaller and more narrow.
It looks as if I must recruit other species to help humanity. Well, since in my story I am a Citadel Council member, shouldn't I receive help automatically? Shouldn't I have at least the full force of the Turians and Salarians, crippled though they be still from Sovereign? And if I gave Cerberus Reaper technology, wouldn't their defense of Earth make any help from others sort of pointless?? Yeah, every little bit helps, but humanity's tech would far exceed, unless Cerberus hasn't had time to utilize the tech I got them. But beyond all of that, I simply do not want to recruit anymore. Mass Effect 2 was an excellent middle chapter, a fresh, action-packed...middle chapter. But I spent 90% of main-story gameplay recruiting. I now want less recruiting and more storytelling. With the initial perception among fans that we will be recruiting again, its making some of us "lukewarm".
BioWare, you are my favorite developer of games. You are excellent in every facet, and we like your games because you are innovators, you produce quality, and you know what makes a good RPG. And just so its clear, the majority of your fans despise Halo, Call of Duty and a lot of other crap holding back gaming. You are great, and im sure it sometimes feels like we are ungrateful brats. Our complaints, though, are tough love. And this is tough love. I feel that, with the way it feels Mass Effect 3 is heading for, based upon the information at hand, that this could utterly derail the entire franchise. It just has the feel of a C- ending to literally the best piece of fiction in the history of the world. And it mostly has to do with an apparent focus on humanity and decharacterization of the Reapers.
Mass Effect is my favorite game series and story ever. Up until now, it is literally The Best Piece Of Fiction Ever. It was so awesome seeing the Reapers. But I cannot get excited, as much as I want to be. As one of your die hard fans, I feel extremely, immensely disappointed.
This sums up my feelings pretty well.
Lets hope Bioware answers our prayers.

I love how people think they know the entire story about ME3 based on just a single teaser trailer. Hell its even funnier when people start wetting their pants when they thought ME3 was a pure multiplayer game based on a split second teaser.
I don't think they think they know the whole story, but rather they're just worried it'll be entirely set around saving Earth, based not just on this teaser but the leaked description, which basically says that's the premise of the game.
Personally, I always wanted to see Earth - but I don't want the entire game to revolve around it like Independance Day...
If Earth being saved is literally just the first couple of missions and the rest of the game is focussed back on saving the galaxy then I'll be happy (that doesn't include saving Earth with the mere implication that the galaxy is saved).
I want to have the chance to break the Reaper cycle and actually take the fight to them once and for all.

now let me get something straight to all you complainers
1. the reapers arent ONLY attacking earth. earth is simply there first target, the other planets are next
2. whats wrong with earth. we finnaly get to see the earth in the future
3.the whole 7 million people killed in a week. obvisouly the guys only talking about london. bioware is full of good writers, i think they would know that 7 million people isnt a whole lot. i think the reapers will have killed at least 1 billion in a week
now SHUT UP haters, quit ruining the excitement for me and the other fans who arent a bunch of nit picking loser who give negative reviews in order to get fame for dissing on a popular game.

For example, ME1's trailer featured Shepard, Garrus and Ashley hearing a 'distress call' from Noveria and getting 'no approval' to go in, and they launch in the Mako. While all those things were in the game, story wise, it was completely inaccurate.
ME2 had a trailer featuring the Illusive Man and Miranda reconning Shepard mentioning that he's gathering a team but they didn't seem to know why. Again, all these elements are in the game, just not correctly connected from a story standpoint.
I'd suspect that the Sean Bean sound-alike is probably in the game in some capacity, there is an invasion of earth and the Reapers are involved. As to how it all fits together? Your guess is as good as mine. (which is the first sentence of this post)

None of us (including you) have any real information to comment on, but critism is a good thing, why people like you call them haters I do not know, I'm excited about ME3, that does not mean however I will not critisize, and as more information becomes available then we can ALL critisize more.UBER GEEKZILLA wrote...

(..) the 1 minute teaser trailer proves the game will suck.(...)
Who's saying that out of interest? Since you're not naming names, it's hard not to assume that a lot of us who are offering constructive criticism/feedback are being targeted here...
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the ME team have done an amazing job so far. But, believe it or not, they actually want to hear our suggestions and feedback.
The leaked game description suggests heavily (hopefully, incorrectly) that the game is solely, or overly focussed on, saving Humanity and Earth. Hence people are rightfully concerned.

You shouldn't take to much away from this teaser trailer that anoth company made. I think we should wait for more information to be shown before we look into details like how much of the Earth is being attacked.Paincake1234 wrote...
i keep hearing how the 7 million deaths is probably just London statistics. But when you see Shephard walk away, you see the Earth, only a specific area being bombarded. Seems like to me its only part of Europe that is being bombarded.
