Mass Effect 3 debut trailer - discussion

In combination with lack of any official announcement on official sources (EA/Bioware page, twitter, facebook, forums) it felt like BioWare threw us a trailer without caring much of doing it.
Let's be honest, we knew of ME3 since ME1, we also knew about ME3 story at the end of ME2. This trailer was just a formality, with no real new information aside from us doing something with Earth in ME3 (not yet confirmed either). What I personally was expecting is activity of BW staff on the net (forums and interviews) in one huge wave of information on day one in order to knock us off the chairs. So far we didn't get anything of it, thus I'm holding my breath so far.

I personally hope that earth is only the first target and the main forces of humanity get annihilated. After that you will have to free all or some homeworlds from the reapers before you get their forces to take back earth. Because why should the turains and asari give you their fleets if there own homeworlds are in immanent danger of their own.

2. The soldier is most likely talking about British or Londonian casualties, not global casualties, as he specifies that he's heard of other major cities being attacked too. Even if it was 9 million dead globally and you think that is a low number, since when has the goal of Reapers been about killing all humans? He said they took out their defenses, which ofcourse they would, but presumably the Reapers still intend to make their human slurpee Reaper.

It seems to happen everywhere, not just with ME, that people always think the games company has ruined a franchise after the announcement trailer.

Sarcasm appreciated my good friend. Well to answer your question yes and no. I don't spend much time on other forums and the only other forum i recall using a variant of this user name are the nexus modding websites for DAO, FNV and FO3.yoomazir wrote...

Ah yes, Yoomazir, the one who calls other people that enjoyed ME2 "pathetic losers". Go back to your dissapointment threads.
Glad to see you're still the same friendly person, some things never change in life...btw just out of curiosity do you use the same nickname (or a variant) for forums other than Bioware?
Why? Do you want to start hacking those accounts and go on a spree framing me?

You shouldn't really take too much into detail about that. CGI is really expensive and many things that are shown in full CGI trailers don't look the same in game. Well like for instance the armor weapons and characters look very different in the CGI trailer for DAO than they do ingame.Terror_K wrote...
I still believe that The Reapers seen in the teaser are merely a first strike made up of closer, more localised Reapers that were either dormant within the galaxy or just beyond the rim, and that the full Reaper force is still quite far away... for now. For one thing, they're all of the same design as Sovereign, perhaps hinting they're all Vanguards like he was, whereas the Reapers we saw in the final shot of ME2 actually had more unique and varying designs to them. That would also explain why perhaps Earth has actually lasted as long as it has.

We know that the Reapers repeat the cycle for 50,000 years to destroy all galactic civilization. We also know that the Collectors form the manual labor for the Reapers. And we know that the indoctrination gains more allies for the Reapers. Yet we don't know who created them. If that's true, then whoelse or whatelse made the Reapers come to life?

Hey ppl, the Reapers aren't THAT tough.
Remember, Sovereign arrives with a whole geth fleet? The citadel defense fleet had 1 DN and cruisers. The human fleet, which also apparently only had cruisers, lost only 8 ships.
Considering the number of ships involved on both sides..that really isn't much.
They only have about 300 ships in the entire fleet
Eh?
The Citadel Defense Fleet barely had time to do anything, as Sovereign bee-lined into the Citadel, and was thus safe fro many subsequent attacks. The Citadel fleet was locked outside, fighitng a massive geth fleet.
And the human fleet that jumped in? Didn't really look that ay big.

To me it makes no sence. Having knowledge about Spepard implies having knowledge about the reapers.
Any of you have the same thoughts?

Shepard is a famous figure throughout the galaxy for his role in the battle of the Citadel, but the Reapers? At most, people will think "Oh *beep*! The geth have built more of that huge ship they had!" because that's what the council claimed Sovereign was: an advanced geth warship.

No, sorry about that, it's just I remembered someone also having "ExarKun" in the forums of a french website, let's just say he had somehow the same "language" as you. Anyway, like I said sorry about asking that, I was just curious.
As for ME3, well, let's just wait & see.

I'm sorry, but...I just find all this whining and whinging very, very ironic.
And, IMHO, I think the trailer rocks the ****ing universe, and that the game WILL be fan-bloody-tastic!

Because after all, it's not as if the two occasions the Reapers stuck their nose out in the past fifty thousand years have gotten them swatted with Shepard's rolled-up copy of Bad-Ass Monthly.
I don't even understand the mental gymnastics required to make "The Reapers are attacking Earth!" into "Earth is the most important planet in the galaxy!". It suggests, but does not confirm, that it's the most important planet to the stage, process, or contingency plan of the Culling that's being enacted at the time this trailer takes place.
But no, the negatives are probably right, Bioware did it just to be sloppy and spite you. If they could, they'd drive around to everyone who bought Mass Effect and slap them, just because they hate their customers so much.

Who thought it would? Even Shepard doesn't think it's over after saving the Citadel, and s/he doesn't know their story was planned as a trilogy from the beginning.Killjoy Cutter wrote...

I had the same thoughs. The only explanation that I could come up with (and make some sense) is Shepard escaped the destruction of Earth with big Ben's help. It explains how he knows Shepard, why Shepard is watching earth "burn" and the whole 'If he doesn't get help' line.donlipek wrote...
