What was Ben shooting at there? Was it a Husk?

It looks a lot like a Turian Husk to me.

So much hate toward the earth being invaded part. It's just a taste of what's to come. Stop whining. What did you expect? Earth to be left untouched?

First people want to go to earth. Then people want to see the reapers IN Earth. Now they finally give it to us and you complain?

Some gamers are so ungrateful.

I personally love the VGA teaser. FINALLY GONNA GO TO EARTH!!!! THANKS BW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the teaser too.  And I'm glad we're seeing Earth (I've asked for it before several times in the past).  I just hope the entire game isn't about saving Earth.  Based on the game description (not the 1 minute teaser), it looks like that will be the case.  I hope it isn't.  I hope saving Earth is just the start, because this trilogy is so much more epic than that.  The mission has been about saving all galactic civilisation, not just one species, from the reapers - hopefully that focus hasn't changed.

Exactly, but it's just gonna be ME3's Eden Prime so Im not worried. BW knows better. It wouldn't have felt the same way if it would have been some random planet. earth gives us the feel of hoplesness (specially since me and my shepard were born there!).

You know what would really give a strong sense of complete despair?  More trailers of other planets being ravaged by the reapers.  Then things truly do feel hopeless - I want to see the reapers reaping so many planets that it really does feel like complete and utter armageddon.  If it was merely Earth, I wouldn't feel that hopeless.  So I hope you're right and that BW deliver that kind of payoff!

Do the words, "Nerd ****storm" mean anything to you?

Other than that, ME 3 should rock socks.

No, i can't say that I am.... care to elaborate?

Ah yes "Nerd ****storm" synonimus with nerdgasm, AKA me post teaser trailer. Posted Image

P.S It's a quote that has been edited slightly.

Then why did the Reapers hire the Collectors in ME2 to create ONE of their own if they could simply take a walk through the galaxy and do the job themselves?

I know there are answers, and this same thought has been expressed many times already, but this turn of events makes ME2's plot incredibly weak. Seems like if you just took that chapter away, the timeline from ME1 to ME3 would flow much better.

But again, I'll have faith and wait for something new.

1) They didn't hire the Collectors, they created them 50,000 years ago, for the specific purpose they were given in ME 2.

2) They used them in ME 2 to find out which species would be best suited for their reproductive needs; humans were chosen.

3) It seems unlikely that they can "simply take a walk through the galaxy and do the job themselves".  Reapers are powerful, not indestructible, and if they could create a replacement for Sovereign to take over the Citadel, it would save a lot of their lives.

4) Without ME 2, we'd have no idea what the Reapers were after.  Their motives and purposes would remain a mystery, or have to be written into ME 3, slowing the plot.

We don't really know if this is a spoiler or not*, because we don't know when the attack takes place. I could even argue that we don't know for sure that the attack definitely takes place at all.

*Unless by spoiler you mean "anything that happens at any point in the game."

Wathever.......

After a year in these forums, I've noticed people here complain about everything......

Working in BW's PR sector must be a nightmare.

Maybe, I'm crazy, but I took the end of the trailer as symbolizing Shepard "turning his back" on Earth to focus on a more galactic problem. I also noticed the N7, not Cerberus, logo on his uniform.

For me, seeing this trailer of Earth evolved in the conflict is refreshing. It makes it personal. It makes it feel like we are actually a part of this story. It reminds you that Earth is important to your character and not something forgotten. I have saved every other planet and station in the galaxy. Why not Earth? I hope we have battles and adventures all over the galaxy but it's time that Shepard saves the home team. My only hopes are for more story and not having to recruit a whole new team.

I agree that it's a good idea to see Earth and a way of making it personal for Shepard... I have zero problem with that (in fact I would like to see Earth completely lost from the start, just to make it that much more personal).  But I don't see why that means they should make the whole thing about saving it.   I hope they don't.   If the game ends with saving Earth and Shepard's still alive, what will she say?  "The Reapers are still out there, and I'm gonna find a way to stop them."  Ah, that old chestnut...

I wonder what this means in terms of getting more DLC between then and now. I'm kind of dying for new material. LotSB was awesome, but I was hoping for an Ashley/ Kaiden DLC of equal size. Anyone still think we might get it? I'm hoping for at least one more major episode before ME 3 drops.

Also, Bioware, if you're listening: bring back the Mako and planetary exploration. Do want.

I agree that there definitely needs to be some kind of Ashley/Kaidan DLC before ME3.  There is still a whole year though before ME3 drops so there is plenty of time.  Still, I am looking forward to some Ashley DLC as much as I am looking forward to ME3.

What if Shep is a Colonist or a Spacer? Surely he would be concerned about Mindoir - whatever's left of it?

Even if:

1) the whole plot is going to be focused on Earth

2) missions are going to be set only in London

3) ferris wheel will be humanity's secret ultimate anti reaper weapon (figure it out for yourself)

we all are going to play this game (if only to see how crappy it is).

Conclusion: BIOWARE WINS - FLAWLESS VICTORY

Now let's move on to the much more pressing issue. Who the hell is voicing that sniper guy?

If animation resembles the actual voicing actor then his goofy ears rule out pretty much everyone mentioned on this forum.

Hell, maybe it's Will Smith :)

I am wondering about one thing. The soldier is saying that he does not know "what those things are, where they came from and what they want' but at the same time is aware that if "Shepard does not bring help soon there will be not much left"

To me it makes no sence. Having knowledge about Spepard implies having knowledge about the reapers.

Any of you have the same thoughts?

Shepard is a famous figure throughout the galaxy for his role in the battle of the Citadel, but the Reapers? At most, people will think "Oh *beep*! The geth have built more of that huge ship they had!" because that's what the council claimed Sovereign was: an advanced geth warship.

OK. That's a good point. But is Shepard not supposed to be dead. At least to commom knowledge.
The gest killed during the ambush on the first Normandy. Comes back from the dead after a year or so and is on a secret, Cerberus run suicide mission. Destroys the collector ship (or not) and tha last scene of ME2 is how hundereds of reapers travel towards the milky way. From the moment of Shepards death, with all what happened inbetween the Big Ben marine should have no knowledge of Shepard being alivbe at all. I does not stick together.

Sure, that would awesome and I hope colonists and spacers get to see Mindoir in just as devastated a state... In any case, I just hope the overall focus is still on saving the galaxy, and that we're dealing with the whole galaxy being attacked not just Earth.
