What was Ben shooting at there? Was it a Husk?
It looks a lot like a Turian Husk to me.

So much hate toward the earth being invaded part. It's just a taste of what's to come. Stop whining. What did you expect? Earth to be left untouched?
First people want to go to earth. Then people want to see the reapers IN Earth. Now they finally give it to us and you complain?
Some gamers are so ungrateful.
I personally love the VGA teaser. FINALLY GONNA GO TO EARTH!!!! THANKS BW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the teaser too. And I'm glad we're seeing Earth (I've asked for it before several times in the past). I just hope the entire game isn't about saving Earth. Based on the game description (not the 1 minute teaser), it looks like that will be the case. I hope it isn't. I hope saving Earth is just the start, because this trilogy is so much more epic than that. The mission has been about saving all galactic civilisation, not just one species, from the reapers - hopefully that focus hasn't changed.
Exactly, but it's just gonna be ME3's Eden Prime so Im not worried. BW knows better. It wouldn't have felt the same way if it would have been some random planet. earth gives us the feel of hoplesness (specially since me and my shepard were born there!).

Do the words, "Nerd ****storm" mean anything to you?
Other than that, ME 3 should rock socks.
No, i can't say that I am.... care to elaborate?

1) They didn't hire the Collectors, they created them 50,000 years ago, for the specific purpose they were given in ME 2.poisonoustea wrote...
Then why did the Reapers hire the Collectors in ME2 to create ONE of their own if they could simply take a walk through the galaxy and do the job themselves?
I know there are answers, and this same thought has been expressed many times already, but this turn of events makes ME2's plot incredibly weak. Seems like if you just took that chapter away, the timeline from ME1 to ME3 would flow much better.
But again, I'll have faith and wait for something new.

For me, seeing this trailer of Earth evolved in the conflict is refreshing. It makes it personal. It makes it feel like we are actually a part of this story. It reminds you that Earth is important to your character and not something forgotten. I have saved every other planet and station in the galaxy. Why not Earth? I hope we have battles and adventures all over the galaxy but it's time that Shepard saves the home team. My only hopes are for more story and not having to recruit a whole new team.

Wathever.......
After a year in these forums, I've noticed people here complain about everything......
Working in BW's PR sector must be a nightmare.

I wonder what this means in terms of getting more DLC between then and now. I'm kind of dying for new material. LotSB was awesome, but I was hoping for an Ashley/ Kaiden DLC of equal size. Anyone still think we might get it? I'm hoping for at least one more major episode before ME 3 drops.
Also, Bioware, if you're listening: bring back the Mako and planetary exploration. Do want.

I agree that it's a good idea to see Earth and a way of making it personal for Shepard... I have zero problem with that (in fact I would like to see Earth completely lost from the start, just to make it that much more personal). But I don't see why that means they should make the whole thing about saving it. I hope they don't. If the game ends with saving Earth and Shepard's still alive, what will she say? "The Reapers are still out there, and I'm gonna find a way to stop them." Ah, that old chestnut...

I am wondering about one thing. The soldier is saying that he does not know "what those things are, where they came from and what they want' but at the same time is aware that if "Shepard does not bring help soon there will be not much left"
To me it makes no sence. Having knowledge about Spepard implies having knowledge about the reapers.
Any of you have the same thoughts?
Shepard is a famous figure throughout the galaxy for his role in the battle of the Citadel, but the Reapers? At most, people will think "Oh *beep*! The geth have built more of that huge ship they had!" because that's what the council claimed Sovereign was: an advanced geth warship.
