I only hope Earth isn't a huge deal, the draw of Mass Effect for me is that it is a new universe with new species and new planets. I'm so sick of saving earth though. And the reapers on earth looks a hell of a lot like War of the Worlds.
I get them too. I wish they would upload a version without the titles.

Hmm, fair point, I'm sure the Reaper's plan is to come in, nuke Earth, then quietly turn and walk away back to Dark Space like they have in the past...oh, WAIT...!BigBody26 wrote...
I don't think that is it really. I think we are just concerned that Earth will become the focal point of ME3. In ME1 and ME2 it was about how all galactic civilizations were in danger...not just humanity. It should remain that way. The plot synopsis in the description....."rally all galactic civilizations and launch one final attack to take back the Earth."
That suggests no one else is being attacked except humanity. Surely if the other homeworlds were being attacked they would not have forces to spare and send to humanities aid. I think this is the fan comminuties biggest concern. Mass Effect has always felt more epic than just "Oh no...humanity is in danger." It has always been about saving the ENTIRE galaxy.
IF Earth is the only place being attacked, it will be because the Reapers see humanity (in the form of Shepard) as their biggest problem, so they want to take us apart first before moving onto the rest of the galaxy. The entire galaxy will indeed be under threat, but if we can stop them at Earth, nobody else will get hit.
My biggest concern is that based on the trailer, the game will only be 1 minute 10 seconds long. Bioware had better fix that before release...!

Nearby Mars colony is toast. I bet a single Reaper will go and easily handle that...

Uh, yeah, that was sarcasm. Pointing out that even if the game IS focused on Earth, which is horribly unlikely, the Reapers would STILL be a threat to the entire galaxy. Actually, that would be pretty awesome...you go to the council and they say "Well, it's only Earth being attacked, humanity should be able to deal with their own problems..." and getting to shove their stupidity down their throats if they think that their worlds won't be next on the chopping block.smithgroup wrote...
ITS NOT going to focus ONLY on Earth. That's not how ME works, and anybody with a "2" under their avatar should know this by now.

Reapers kill everything that is organic, so EVERYONE IS IN TROUBLE!
Even the geth, because they're outside the reaper plans. And the reapers know where the geth are, so I figure they're coming along to help (whether we like it or not)

Reading through the thread I just had to respond to this one, if that comparison is with the modern day version war of the worlds I agree, but the original war of the worlds was a master piece that non of those movies would ever touch, independance day was ok but too "all american", the modern day war of the worlds was crindgingly difficult to watch.poisonoustea wrote...
Aka Indipendence Day. Yep, that's right.Sorry to burst your bubble there, but doesn't this look way too much like War of the Worlds on steroïds?
"gets off soapbox"; anyway, back to ME3, the reapers are coming, the earth is the main target, I hope we have to beg, steal and borrow to get help from the other races, in my opinion Shepard is going to need more than uber weapons and uber armor, he is also going to need to use his/her brain if humanity has any hope of survival, I will be greatly dissapointed if only superior fire power is needed.

millions... billions... it doesn't matter if a death rate is higher then 100 then it won't matter as long as the repears die.
though I think it would be awesome to pilot a gunship, but I think it would be cooler to be in a fighter up in a nice beautiful space battle

1. OMGZ DUDZ I FOUND THIS KEWL ANTI-REAPER VIRUS!
2. The Reapers canibalized themselves to get to the Milky way so they are weak enough to be beaten by the combined species.
3. Shepard finds some dark magic-I mean energy weapon that even the Reapers can't resist.
It must be hard to have to come up with a GOOD ending.

You know to add to what can go wrong is if another race comes and wants some action

The reapers definately see Shepard as the threat and would want to distract him or lure him into an unwinable fight.
But I think the whole point of ME3 is nothing is more important than saving Earth.

Wouldn't it be interesting if they gave you the choice not save earth or any other certain planet that needs saving? I mean it would be interesting to view that you abandoned millions of lives for your own salvation.
If given the option, I will sacrifice Earth in order to protect the greater galactic community. Just like I sacrificed human lives to save the council in ME1 because it was in the best interest of the entire galactic community...not just humanitys best interest. ME has been all about choices. I think giving us a choice would be amazing!

Indeed the choice would be amazing but it depends what conflicts with you, which I don't know why but when think about it I think of Shepards mother and seeing her killed based on the choice you made, I mean in the game its going to make you say "woah, holy hell I did that."
