Agreed. I will defeat the Reapers at all costs. If I have to sacrifice myself, Earth or the entire human race, this cycle needs to be stopped. I have no idea how I'm going to beat them...they are knowing and I am bacteria...but I (Shepard) WILL take them out.

As much as I would hate to see Shepard go, I think he needs to be sacraficed at the end of ME3 to establish his epicness.

you know in one of the posters in ME2 the quote "Fight for the Lost" makes me think that we will lose no matter how hard we fight... I know that qoute is from ME2 but who knows

If the ending focus in primarily saving earth, it will ruin the whole series. This is my biggest fear, along with many others

I do hope they continue to press the importance of uniting the galaxy to save everyone... I'd hate for this to be "save the humans" honestly, it goes against everything Shepard stands for(especially when you're a paragon sentinel like me) I think they need to completely branch out with ME3 and make Shepard successfully unite the entire galaxy to save everyone.

Its probably going to come down to how shepard dispenses his forces he gathered. He could send a big chunk of his forces to protect Earth, but that means the rest of his defenses elswhere will be sparse. And watch Earth being designated as getting destroyed from the very beginning by Bioware. If you wasted a lot of defenses on Earth, and ultimately get the whole universe destroyed, a big GAME OVER, is followed by SELFISH across your tv screen. Followed by me dropkicking the TV.

I hope that you can have multible endings that will show you how your actions effect the future, like maby if you mess up, earth is gone but you destroy the reapers, and it shows you how much socity is stunted with the loss of the human home world.

In almost every modern film that involves an alien invasion, its always in the americans point of view, its always on american soil, its always america kicking ass, its always america this america that.

Nah, this will be on Canadian soil 

But to tell the truth, I doubt Shepard will actually land on Earth.  My guess is the closest we'll get will be a Reaper or space station orbiting Earth.  There may be cutscenes of fights taking place around the world (like the teaser). 

Notice the first two games the "final showdown" takes place on bases.  The Citadel inME 1 and teh Collector base in ME 2.

Of course this is purely speculation and guesswork.

The Reapers are beyond are comprehension. Sure, we defeated the Vanguard...after Sovereign underestimated Shepard and took control of a dead Saren's body. Sure, we polished off a half dead Reaper and a Reaper in its embryonic state. But now, we are in for it. Remember what Sovereign...one Reaper...did to the entire Turian fleet? And most of the SA??



We are in deep trouble.

How about if the final battle is not the battle for Earth, but the Battle of Earth. The final battle should take place at Earth, simply because that's where the Reaper forces are, but it will be a fight to eliminate the Reapers as a whole to protect the galaxy. We get galactic scale and incredible odds, and at the same time dramatic battles over Earth landmarks which will have an emotion meaning for the player.

Can we give up the fact that Earth will be the whole main point of the game... geez we know that bioware wouldn't do that to make over 95% of the game based on just only Earth I mean for all we know that the whole galaxy gets pushed so far that Earth is the last place to hide and fight against the Reapers, for all we know that these invasions the reapers are doing is a all frontal attack creating multiple fonts for the galaxy to make careful and risky choices. But can we just accept the fact that Bioware wouldn't be stupid enough to make ME3 only about Earth and humanity
