Pretty sure its either London or UK.  Nothing in the trailer suggests that the soldier was given more than the necessary, local, information before being sent out into the field.

I guess even us Yanks find Britain more easily?  Less political backlash then if they showed like, the sniper taking refuge in the remains of the World Trade Center monument?  What a **** storm that would be...

I'm glad they did not use a city from the States. I'm getting really bored of that kind of setting. Bioware always reaches out to a more international point of veiw then an American one. It really shows how mature they are. Though, I hope you see more of the world then "just" London.

I think it's a simple resemblance, maybe they meant the character to look a little like him (since he's british too) but can you really imagine paying the royalties to Jason Statham just to appear uncredited on a minute long teaser?
The voice sounds like his one too a little bit but you can easily tell it's not him.
He just looks like. And I doubt we will see him on the videogame...maybe a cameo or something...
Awesome teaser by the way.
Cheers

All mass effect trailers thus far have featured prominent characters.
Just saying.

I am agree....Remember the first teaser trailer for MS2, and the discussions, after that about the Geth squadmate?

Look, no one's forcing you to play the game if you don't like it. If BioWare did everything their fans told them to do or if they decided to fixevery flaw in all the arguments it wouldn't be BioWare's games but fan's games. They've made a great game and we've let our imagination run wild with it.
There are hundreds of things I would change to the game so that it fits me better but few others would like it then and vice versa. Personally, I would bow to BioWare for making such a good game and taking so much time and being so thorough with it. They are designing a galaxy and you are complaining!

A galaxy where you spend the most of your time shooting. Where are all the real quests and planet exploration as in ME1? The real interesting story dealing much more with the overall universe? The ME series is becoming a boring, predictable and generic action thing. No one's forcing anyone to play the game if you don't like it, but thing is, we can be disapointed and it is our right to complain if we want to. And thing is, ME2 is... MASS EFFECt TWO, it should easily be enjoyable to any fan of the orignal, no? Then why isn't it the case? Why aren't working on the elements of the original, rather than taking off half of them and reworking on everything? And it's certainly not like the mass effect trilogy shouldn't be a close knit trilogy, something that flows well throught the series in a satisfying manner to everyone who ever enjoyed the first?

Maybe some features like exploring may return in ME3, as well as more rpg elements. But I think ME3 doesn't need to go back to what ME was , bring back / tweak some things but by all means put what made ME2 great in ME3 .

the quality of the CGI in this trailer is ridiculous (it was the same in ME2 trailer), it looks almost like real life. imagine what it could like in a few more years.

I wonder how much time it takes to put all the little details in like the texture of the walls inside big ben and all the little shards of glass among tons of other little tiny details.

My estimates would be months along making sure the lighting/shadows are right.Animation wise Bioware seems at times untouchable , and the way the trailer draws you in to what's going on.Just Perfect

Anyone else think the ME movie would be incredible if these guys did it?  I think if they did performance capture (as opposed to facial animations), Blur would do an incredible job.

Why are people surprised about the Reapers invading? They were entering the Milky Way galaxy at the end of 2.

Ok I'm just throwing this out there.

After reading a lot of these types of posts, I'd say 85% of you people obviously paid NO attention while playing these games.

The reapers sizes in the video are spot on. If you had paid attention during ME1 you'd know this.

The death toll sounds kinda low because he is refering to LONDON, NOT THE ENTIRE PLANET.

They seem surprised because most of the galaxy was in DENIAL about the reapers. Again, you'd know this if you actually had paid attention.

Mixed feelings about the tralier. Kind
of badass, but I don't want to see ME3 all grey and washed out like much
of that was (though I suppose one could say "London" as justification
for that...). There are enough games as it is like that that are either
Gears of War grey or dull and brown.

Much depends on how literal
the trailer is: whether this is something that's really going on from
the start, something near the end or what. For starters, there's the
whole plot of ME1: if The Reapers can just so easily and quickly attack
Earth en masse like that, then it kind of makes a complete mockery of
the first part, which is why it depends purely on the context. The first
teaser for ME2, after all, wasn't particularly literal and had more
questions within it than answers, so I suspect this is the same. If this
really is literal, the main question I want answered is: how did The
Reapers get there so quickly given ME1's plot.

Finally, given how
badass the Reapers have been purported to be, I didn't think Earth (or
any homeworld for that matter) would seriously be able to hold it's own
and stand up to them for more than a few days. If ME3 really does have
this as the start of it and you're spending months traveling around the
galaxy recruiting allies and saving kittens in-between, would there really be anything left to come back to?

Go back and play ME1 genius. On Ilos when you speak with the protean AI he says it took centuries for the proteans to be wiped out. So obviously the reapers can be at least "slowed down".

I NEED THIS GAME RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! I'm really looking forward to this (if you couldn't tell) and although I prefer to play as a paragon I would really like it if we could speak to the Council in person and get to renegade punch that damn Turian pr**k.

You're comparing a whole race getting wiped out across the galaxy to a single planet-full of humans... And what's the deal with the insults, as far as I know he didn't get in here "shouting" at people.

Negative.

1).  It has been stated repeatedly that if you died on the suicide mission, you *****Cannot**** import your save file, i.e. if your only ME2 save has you dying, you will simply start with default Shephard, much like if you had no import file from ME1 when you started ME2.

2).  We see Big Ben and Shephard in the same instant, i.e. they both exist at the same time.  According to this theory, we shouldn't see Shephard at all while we are seeing Big Ben there.

I mean, if the only purpose Big Ben serves is to be the player character, then why show him and Shephard together?

You know that really freaks me out, where the hell do they start from to make such stunning trailers...do they really make a 3d model for anything that appears on the screen or they use some sort of scenography mixed with the 3d...
it would be awesome to see how they do it...                        ...or terribly boring...
And there's a lot of huge CGI trailers out there.

Image IPB   So, does anyone have a release date yet? GameStop shows the game being released on 12/31/2011.  Any confirmations? Also, has anyone heard of a "Collectors Edition" or as they now call it, a "Signature Edition"? Amazon.com only shows the standard game with a release date of Q12011. Anyone???????Image IPB

cos like the 99% of all other movies and games out there show the USA as the only place that alien abductions and invasions ever happen.
Though these things happen in Russia too, the aliens there are communists so ppl never cared. now its time for EU to have some lol

Right. As a Canadian company, Bioware tries to make their settings a little more international then just try to appeal to the US fans.
