The only reason Earth is even under attack is cause the first thing I did at the end of ME2 Was Head to the Citadel so I could say.... HEY COUCIL . I TOOOOLD YOU SO! But no no it was all in my head!!! Sarren was just a charistmatic guy right? Now get your butts on the Normandy cause Im dropping you off at Earth till I..... ME can figure this out.

Instead of Odysseus returning home to find a bunch of Greeks trying to marry his wife, we just have a horde of robotic space squid.
Although my first inclination was thinking that the invasion made ME1 and 2 pointless, I think those games are more about the allies you make that will help you fight the reapers. Whether they are Rachni, Quarian, Krogan, or Geth is entirely up the decisions you made in the previous games.

It's not Jason Statham. (My g/f loves him, i listem to him alot)
I was trying to figure out why i too was so underwhelmed by the trailer, by all accounts there's nothing wrong with it, then i realised it's the over-acted cokeny accent that ruins it for me,
"2 Miwion ded in the furst day"
i'd love to know what part of London this guy is from, because i'm pretty sure hardly anyone talks like that these days outside of over-the-top movie personalities, like Jason Statham, and he's the only one who carries it off.

Wrex is busy saving his entire species. It'd be silly to just demote him to a tag along in Shep's crew.Eisir wrote...

Also: "Human.. you've changed nothing. Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater."
The Reapers are pissed at the humans cause of Shepard, makes sense they'd target their homeworld.

It mostly depends on if the Reapers are only looking to wipe-out the human race.Their best place to attack would be Earth but I doubt the battle will revolve only on Earth as the Reapers wouldn't just keep attacking there.IncognitoPanda wrote...
I dislike that they are putting so much emphasis on Earth. What makes Earth so vital in the battle against giant Reapers? Since when has this INTERGALACTIC battle only been about Earth? If the plot turns out to be most about saving Earth, then Bioware has seriously disappointed me..

remember the ending of Mass Effect 1, Sovereign and the geth fleet annihilated the Turian/Asari fleets
on top of that, a human organization stopped the collectors cold
taking out earth is a pretty smart start

Because.. why not? It's a recognizable city. That's all.mcneil_1 wrote...
What I want to know is why did Bioware decide to use London as the city in the trailer?

Shepard is arriving by the looks of the trailer. I don't think he really ever got away, since he was never there for the start of the invasion. My guess is the Reapers are truely after Shepard, and what better way to the man behind the revolution out of the woodworks than destroying his race's homeworld?Prol3 wrote...
my one problem with the trailer is that it shows the reapers on a rampage but also pretty much allowing for shepard to escape and at least gather up some reinforcements. wasn't the reapers plan of attack to isolate enemies and destroy them one by one and now here they are attacking the planet of the race that has been the biggest thorn in their side this time around and their are letting shepard get away. if the collectors could detect the normandy then why can't the reapers? i'm no hyper advanced sentient machine, but if i'm invading a planet i would keep a portion of my forces back to make sure no one escapes. i just really don't want the game to start off like this.

1). We don't know how tightly the game will focus on earth. For instance, ME2 trailer featured Legion, and he's in like, the last 3 hours of the game. Other trailer's featured Horizon, which is just one mission in the game.
2). It makes sense for the reapers to attack Earth if they're trying to draw Shephard out. Humans are being specifically targeted by the reapers, and a lot of the events in ME2 has lead to humans being "special." Whether you disagree that humans should be special is irrelevant, it's already in ME2.
