The Reapers will not be flying all the way back from dark space. They will use the black hole they are turning Haedstrum's sun into (Tali's recruitment mission). That's not difficult to see coming.

I also agree the Keepers will be playing a larger, more "Genesis explaination" role in ME3. I think the "

A black hole? You must be joking, right? Even a Reaper could't survive a black hole. Black holes are not for insterstellar/interdimensional traveling (-> Star Trek 2009), anything that falls into a black hole will be dematerialized and turned into energy.

This is were theoretical physics and practical physics are different. In theory you are correct, anything entering a Black Hole is crushed; but no one knows what happens in a Black Hole, its all just speculation. So you can’t test the theory, and though your theory may be more sound its still just that, a theory.

If you look at the ME3 trailer, the dude in the clock tower takes  "some" creature out with his sniper rifle. Granted you can't get a good idea of what it looks like but I obviously think from the trailer alone it implied that this creature is a reaper, the "cuttlefish" ships they pilot are merely that... just ships. Im sure the Reapers will look something similar to their ships but the ships are just ships not the actually Reapers... As far as the human reaper goes along with the other species like reapers they've created, I believe those are just tools to take on the form on the species they're trying to destroy, maybe to cause fear? Remember Harbinger saying " your salvation lies with your destruction"

I"m guessing that this Guy from trailer will playable character if Shepard dies during suicide mission.

Actually I read that if you died during the suicide mission it is game over.  You would have to create a new Shepard.

Please excuse me for a seemingly obvious question .

At the end of Me1 on Ilos the AI (cant remember his name Alvin???)  says that Sovereign is using Saren to activate the Citadel Relay so that the Reaper invasion may begin . In Mass Effect 2 the Human Reaper is destroyed and the relay is not activated . Does this mean that some time during ME3 the Citadel relay would have to be activated for the Reaper invasion to begin? If  not  then why would Sovereign care about the relay in the first place if the Reapers can re-enter through Dark Space ? I hope they manage to keep the story consistent from ME1 and the way I see it the Relay has to be activated in Me3 otherwise Sovereigns goals were meaningless . Am I right or wrong?

The Citadel was basically a "short-cut" to the galaxy. It is likely that if the Reapers were to simply travel from Dark Space to the Milky-way, they would use up precious energy that is needed to wipe out galatic civilization.

Well, their energy reserves ARE finite, or they wouldn't have to hibernate between cullings.

The derelict Reaper in ME2 had its Mass Effect core active for 37 million years continuously without opportunity for discharge or refueling, to prevent it from falling into the star.

That 9 million is just in London.

Do you have any evidence to support that? How do you know he wasn't talking about England, or the United Kingdom, or Europe, or the Northern Hemisphere, or the entire Globe?

I assumed that they had JUST landed... like only been on earth for 10-30 mins... and 9 million dead.

The point of the relay is that they relied on the majority of the current races goverment/armies to be in one place where they could quickly destroy it all in a matter of hours.

Then why would Sovereign have tried to activate the Citadel so anxiously for millenia? (Rachni Wars for example)

Probably because "it all had to go according to plan". All relays throughout the Milky Way are controled from the Citadel and the Citadel itself ends up being the core for every sapient galactic community in existance.

Having access to the entire relay network was worth the patience because it streamlined their work.
And lets not forget that Reapers are machines; near-immortal machines. They really are in no hurry. What they're interested in, is plotting the best course of action with minimum cost.

If that meant waiting for millenia, so be it. Afterall, what's 1000 years for a Reaper ?

Really would be unique immersion if they let us play as just a grunt in the beginning holding his own against the reaper onslaught as portrayed in the trailer...

Furthermore, they need to put significant emphasis on differentiating the reapers as they seemed to all look and behave alike in the trailer. Too reminiscent to Nazara.

I look forward to the explanation of how the Reapers even got into our galaxy, if we take the distances portrayed in the end cinematic to ME2 to be literal, it would take probably a couple of hundred thousand years, at least, to get into the milky way travelling at the speed of light.

Seriously?

A standard mass effect drive can travel 12 light years in a day. That is 4383 times light speed. The reapers have a massive technological lead on us, so its likely they have a significant boost in that area.

It isnt exactly farfetched.

i'm just wondering. it's supposed to be a trilogy, but what with platform x-over & the way gaming goes, there's no way it'll end on 3. anybody know anything about what comes after 3.

Well obviously the story of ME doesnt end in the aftermath of the trilogy, just the narrative story through Shep comes to an end thus the series finds a new course through a new narrative... ;)

If the Reapers could just fly in that quickly, then why didn't Sovereign just tell the Reapers to do that when his signal failed, and just stay hidden for a few more years, until they showed up so that they could head over to the Citadel together?  That would be a massive plot hole, since it wouldn't explain why Sovereign went through all that trouble... Unless they explain that flying into the galaxy so fast is somehow dangerous for them to do, and is something they would only do as a last resort.  In any case, I hope that whatever alternative method they have for getting into the galaxy is something they consider highly dangerous as that would explain why it was so important that they use the Citadel (I'm actually hoping that they use Haestrom's sun, Dholen, to create a violent, raw portal).

Most things where the Earth is under attack by aliens have a Caucasian male. He's sad about the lack of originality....I guess he also cried about the first ME.

If no one's already called it (I'm not going to sift through 84 pages to find out) I will.

Trailer guy becomes a squad member and romantic interest for female Shepard.
