I think the point has been made clear enough now.

At any rate, I'm just confused on something. Why aren't there other countries helping? Unless, of course, they're preoccupied with the Reapers reaping them as well.

At a guess it's a synchronised global strike so the other countries are likely in as bad a state as the UK and with communications down (in a future setting that likely relies heavily on tech that's probably based on Reaper science),  everyone's probably (like you say) just scrambling to survive what's happening in their own country before they start thinking about getting organised and pushing back.

If the major 'theme' of Mass Effet 2 was 'No one is safe.' Any character, including Commander Shepard could be 'killed in action'... Than the most logical theme to have front and center in ME3 is, 'No place is safe!' Any planet, any colony or space station can be lost. What would be, almost even cooler than this, is depending on how well or poorly you do throughout the epic adventure.A 'point of no return' should be reached: Where the player will have to decide to either keep fighting against the Reapers and do all within your power to subdue or destroy them or focus on surviving thier assault on organic sentient life.Akin to what the Protheians did on Illos: Finding 'safe havens' and such and so on.That could be very interesting, kind of like the ending to the video game 'Indigo Prophecy'... The trailer reminded me of LOTR as well, but for a different reason.By having the Reapers attack humanity first, it reminds me of how Sauron/Sarrumon attacked Rohan before going after Gondor. They attacked the kingdom of Rohan in The Two Towers in order to prevent them from coming to the aid of the White City in ROTK... Its not that humans are the most important species in Mass Effect, its that they are a powerful ally that must be neutralized before going after bigger prey.Remember the number of human dreadnoughts is the smallest of all...

I'm just wondering would it be a chance to create more connections between ME2 and 3. I was playing with my ME1 character all the time, but all of my previous knowledge of the whole area (including the discovered planets) are gone in ME2. Of corse, it is lame to ask more complicated effects; but, there are still many questions and unrevealed places out there (such as earth itself, we have no idea where it is exactly). Cannot wait though...

MagoRRR, i have some idea of what you mean: One of my main reasons for wishing Earth to play a greater role in the Mass Effect Universe, is because of this planets unknown history and unexplained phenomenon.I know Mass Effect is science fiction, but this real world of ours is a mystery to us still. They say we know more about the surface of the moon than the oceans of the earth.Add on all of the UFO Sightings and the 'Alternative History of the planet Earth' or as its called on the History Channel an Alien History of Planet Earth.Whether true or false, this is good material for a story.

I really am hoping that the planet Klencory in the Keepler Verge plays a vital role in the overall plot of Mass Effect 3.Concerning the planet, in ME1, it was said of it, "lost crypts of beings of light" These entities were supposedly created at the dawn of time to protect organic life from synthetic machine devils." That sounds to me like a planet worth investigating :)

Actually just remembered one of the sidequests in ME1 that might shed some light on the Reaper interest in Earth/humanity (aside from a puny human forcing them to take the long way 'round).

Note: link may or may not constitute a spoiler so follow at your peril

I was thinking too about Earth invasion and the main goal to make a galactic army to fight repears. I think the Shepard should have lots of sidequests that in some way can also change the final battles with reapers.

Shepard should act like commander in various naval battles too, giving orders from tactical bridge.

Explore more planets, even recruits some new crewmembers. I Like FIRST, the smuggler, it remind me so much Han Solo, I want it on Normandy in ME3 :-)

In general should be something really epic, take all the good from previous versions and keep going on with the good job. And release soon more DLC for ME2. Cannot wait :)

@jjjkkk: lol, reminds me of those spammy emails you'd get in ME2

Seriously, who is dumb enough to actually click on something like that?

The problem with Mass Effect 2 is that there are too many characters and you can't talk to all of them after every mission like in ME1. And you don't really learn hardly anything about the characters. However with Tali and Garrus you learn a lot about them in ME1 and then you learn even more in ME2. If BioWare had made less characters for ME2 and actually built more onto those characters, it would have been a lot better game, in my opinion. I just wish you could romance Tali in ME1.

Makes sense to assume the "thing" chasing the humans on earth is a husk.

I personally thought the unidentified "thing" was a Collector, but then realised I was pobably retarded, and that I can't spell probably the first time

I kinda wonder if London's gonna be okay. I'm worried about it. =( I hope the Reapers don't totally destroy it.

I hope that the reapers are everywhere, not just earth like the trailer is promoting. It better not be so simple of a structure to where earth is being attacked and you have to rally the other races to fight with you to save the day. I expect better from Bioware. This trailer worries me. And all this DLC? Really? stop nickle and diming us and give us the playtime that we're paying for.

This is probably going to be the first time, the reapers come to the galaxy without using the Citadels mass relays so I think they would have some kind of strategy/tactics on how there going to attack. Like having soo many reapers attack the Citadel and having another lot attack Earth for example.

I suppose each country provides a percentage of an integrated Earth defence force, commanded by the Systems Alliance based on some sort of calculation (GDP/Wealth/Military capabilty). A Cerberus Daily News Bulletin does mention a United North American States Air Force which seems to be part of the Systems Alliance: http://masseffect.wi...igh_Speed_Chase

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I just received a list of games I can preorder from Gamestop, and Mass Effect 3 is there with a November 9th release date!

Its probably just a place holder. I'm in the UK and shopto are suggesting its out 7th october 2011. I wouldn't believe anything till Bioware/EA say anything!

I dislike that they are putting so much emphasis on Earth. What makes Earth so vital in the battle against giant Reapers? Since when has this INTERGALACTIC battle only been about Earth? If the plot turns out to be most about saving Earth, then Bioware has seriously disappointed me..

1).  We don't know how tightly the game will focus on earth.  For instance, ME2 trailer featured Legion, and he's in like, the last 3 hours of the game.  Other trailer's featured Horizon, which is just one mission in the game.

2).  It makes sense for the reapers to attack Earth if they're trying to draw Shephard out.  Humans are being specifically targeted by the reapers, and a lot of the events in ME2 has lead to humans being "special."  Whether you disagree that humans should be special is irrelevant, it's already in ME2.

Ok your second point there made more sense to me. How it's more of a move to draw Shephard out. Yeah, that resonates with me. Thanks!

The writing was on the wall from the end of ME through the end of ME2. the Reapers WILL be coming to Earth. It is just a matter of at what point in the game, and how BW makes the fight. Like otehrs have mentioned, if it's as easy to kill the Reaper fleet as it was to kill the one in ME2, the game will be a waste.
