Is this real concept art? looks sweet but the Normandy pics make me think its not legit?

First off this is NOT real concept work for Bioware. I go to school at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and this work was for a class called Architecture 2. In this class we pick a game and design a sequel to it in order to get jobs. In that class we have to present as if we are really apart of that company, that way there are real logos of ME3 and Bioware on these paintings.

Please read the source before asking about it.

Went to buy DA2 yesterday, guy said ME3 was given a release date in October. Checked his computer and confirmed October. Would be awesome if it comes out then.

"October" because it's a placeholder date. That is, we know the game is out in Q4 of the year, and October happens to be the start of Q4, so...

The thing is, announcing the "special edition" would mean more details as to what it incorporates, which, in turn, means direct ME3-related information, which isn't something they're about to reveal any time soon apparently. I'm guessing post-E3 is when the big editions will be in stock for pre-order.

I just hope that they put a different team on ME3 than they used for DA2 or else I'm guessing we will have Boring Recycling 3. I for one have cancelled my pre-order because after DA2 I'm not sure I trust bioware anymore and I will wait for the reviews first.

The grapics on the trailer look sick. I'm really hoping that ME3 will be a bit more "graphically demanding" than the previous games. being able to be 'immersed' really adds to the effect of the game. but hey, not all games can look as good as say.... Metro 2033 on max settings.

I just hope they learn from the epic mistakes the lead designers of DA2 have made since the ME series is one of my Fav games and the story line is so damn epic it really shouldnt be confined to London, its not like humans were the only species with a home planet in the galaxy...ME has allways been a galaxy wide story affecting multiple species, and worlds i just really hope this wont be like DA2 aka, london, and a few few surrounding areas of said place. Im still going to buy the game but only because i want to finish the story line ive been playing for so damn long now. sadly i can say im expecting to be dissapointed like with DA2, i just hope these fears arent confirmed... heres hoping. ( just an opinion of a long long time bioware fan)

Spoilers (dont read if you havent completed any mass effect lol)

remember people the year is 2149 or 2150 in mass effect and the reapers destroy any organic race every 50,000 years so at the end of ME2 there still in darkspace but in the trailer it clearly shows them attacking earth but who opened the mass relay for the reapers to go through?   hmmm...cerberus? the council? udina?

I am the only one that find this trailer to be deeply disappointing?
It seem just a vague alien invasion blockbuster trailer...
Could it be?

It doesnt seem dissapointing at all really. Its just a reveal trailer made to show you that the game is coming. I like how vague it is. It adds mystery to it and allows for those "WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!' moments in the game. The mystery behind this storyline is what makes it so enticing. It gives you a lot of questions that you need answers to. And youll get them. Other games have had dissapointing reveals and theyve turned out fine. Its a matter of opinion really.

There's no way ME3 will take place on earth or in London, I'm sure it will be a major side story but just because reapers are attacking earth doesn't mean it will take place on earth that's ridiculous. It will take place throughout the galaxy. What will shepard do blow them all up in the normandy or snipe them from the tower of London? Don't think so. One reaper took out most of the alliance fleet in ME1. I also don't think the other alien council members would sit around and say oh hey those gargantuan sized ships wiping out earth, we got nothing to worry about why should we help? At that point they won't have their blinders on anymore and they'll realize the Reapers aren't just mythology or folklore and finally believe shepard. Reapers harvest every 50k years or so, across the whole Galaxy, harvest to build more Reapers and whatever strange stuff it is that they do.

At the end of ME2 it shows the reapers headed towards the milky way galaxy it's quite clear they're on the move, how they get there I'm sure will be better explained. They don't annihilate everyone if they did they wouldn't be around, they harvest them and use them as tools. The people they conquer are turned into genetic paste to build more reapers we saw what happened to poor Kelly, I think I'll have dinner with her next play around. Millions dying are simply collateral damage. If they wanted too they could bombard earth from orbit, destroy the alliance fleet and annihilate everyone pretty easily, they need organic material to survive, they're basically big gigantic flying cyborgs.

ME1 and 2 are the best RPG"s I've played, liked both better than D:AO, the only real failing in the games was the lack of dialogue between squad mates, there simply wasn't enough though the voice acting was fantastic and the dialogue that they did have was great. When you only have 3 or 4 real conversations with a squad mate it's simply lacking, not to mention insane with the kind of adventures they have. Any group that goes through the stuff they do should have a lot more to talk about. Not to mention when there is a bar around they should be able to sit at the bar, get drunk and have a convo or 2.

Shepard will have to lure all the reapers to earth - cos Harbinger has a thing for humans - then blow earth up from within its core with anti-matter and annihilate the reapers!

Last time i check Casey said this:
In an interview with PC Zone magazine in August 2010, Casey Hudson stated that Mass Effect 3 will continue, with adjustments, the approach of Mass Effect 2 by focusing on "an awesome sense of exploration, intense combat, a deep and non-linear story that's affected by your actions, and rich customisation of your armour, weapons and appearance" instead of an approach where the player "(equips the) hero by sifting through an inventory of hundreds of miscellaneous items and spend hours fiddling with numerical statistics", noting the "overwhelmingly positive" response Mass Effect 2 received for its approach.
