Agreed on both accounts! There's so much room for dreaminess. I also shouldn't be allowed to use photoshop when I'm still excited about a trailer/awake at 5 AM. Because I start being obnoxious and making things for no reason whatsoever. Might as well dump it here.  Shepard and "Big Ben" are both resilient as hell, so I thought - why not?

Gah... no he better not be a LI, specially if he is an infiltrator (though I have a hunch he'll be just like Legion and be an Engineer with Sniper Rifle). But nooo please not a LI, might get my Motoko pondering if Garrus really is the right choice for her



Actually think about it, I really think he is going to be like Legion, we'll probably not be able to get him in the squad until late on in the game. So can't see them making him an LI unless we can romance him over the comms throughout the game

Big Ben "Thanks Shepard, I'd kiss you if you were here right now!" (said in a non-romantic way, but could be taken as such)

Yeah... Only Shepard doesn't seem to be available at the moment.

But if the Reapers just indoctrinate him, then send him into battle somewhere, and Cerberus takes him prisoner... He does look tough, so with a streak of luck -- who knows...

I kind of don't want to be jumping around between characters, either. It was fun to do it for a few minutes as Joker. Was interesting. But whole sections and blah blah blah, I can't be arsed.

I want to play Shepard's story!

Most people are talking of him being a Squadmember/LI the only reference people have had with regards him being playable is on some sort of multiplayer which would be silly as that would mean everyone on the 'human' side looks identical. He could of course, be the person who is heard by players of the human team, leading them in their battle against the invaders.

I think the closest we might get to it, is a brief cameo level like Joker's where you control him making his way to his sniper hole, where he manages to use some communications and ends up speaking to Shepard. Cue switch to Shepard.

Now I think about it, it could be a way to do the prologue, because when he gets to his communication thing, perhaps it has a screen, if you import Shep, it just fires up the ME3 equivalent of Shep and if need be you can tweak it, if you playing default you then get to choose what shep looks like and go through the whole profile thing. It then cuts to a cut-scene where it shows Shep receiving the comms from the English guy who is now just a Voice over comms like we've had before in ME and ME2. From then on, we're Shep all the way.

I could see Big Ben being an opening squamate. Since the main storyline involves finding out that Earth is under attack, Shepard has to go to Earth and see it being ravaged before he/she goes off to find allies. I think Shepard runs into Big Ben during that foray onto Earth, and brings him back to help gather people. That's my way-too-early guess about Big Ben.

I took it as him just being a narrator. We got a little taste of the epicness that ME3 will be and a quick shot of Shep as we are shown the huge task that is placed on his/her shoulders.

I'm indifferent about him. Part of me says he's just a generic trailer character used as a means to provide some perspective, whereas the other part of me wants to believe he's a major character to be revealed in further detail at a later time.

All Bioware need to is show a face and the boards go crazy with speculation.  ME, ME2, DA:O and DA2 confirm that in their respective forums.

Still cant pin the VA, he sounds very familar though so I am guessing he will have a major part to play.  I like the looks of this guy tbh, hope he does get a major part

Strange as it may sound, it may be both.

Think Tychus Findlay. Initially he was a noname marine from the teaser, and in the end he got a book and and a major plot driving part in the game.
