Agreed they'll help me out too just because I saved the base doesn't mean I killed the rachni, I mean genocide on the collector=ok they messed with the wrong race. On the rachni= not so much they never did anything to me.

As if they wouldn't just use it against us, or it would do us any good.

Nor does she need Wrex.

I would love to see either of those choices actually affect the game; if destroying the base means that, like, a whole continent gets wiped out because that collector tech was really useful, that would be awesome. It would actually show that sometimes, keeping to your morals has a price. But I doubt it will, just like I doubt the rachni/geth/Wrex-led krogan will really affect the scope of a player's victory, if only because they have to make the game accessable to new players who never actually decided the fates of those races.OmegaXI wrote...

I'm just glad we get to fight on Earth.
Then again, I didn't blow up the base because of moral reasons or because my Shepard was afraid of Cerberus (if I defeat the eon-old space squids, taking down Cerberus is child's play), I blew it up because the Reapers are smart enough to plan for it's capture and Cerberus doesn't have the best track record with their projects. So maybe you could have negative consequences either way... If you save the base, the resulting tech would save lives on Earth, but maybe you have to take an extra mission to the base to wipe out some indoctrinated Cerberus techies before they help the Reapers.

I'm just glad we get to fight on Earth. It would be awesome if Shepard gets to bring in some reversed-engineered Collector BFG's with him, or a Rachni-Krogan-Geth-Quarian alliance, or a dreadnought fleet led personally by the Turian councillor after I rub the airquotes right back in his face... but they're all results of choices made in previous games.

Nah I got the Krogan, Rachni, Geth, and Quarians on my side. If it truly is a game changer then I can always go back and keep it.
As I someone said earlier, "As long as I can Vanguard Charge a Reaper I'll be happy."

Admiral Cheez - "So yeah, Cerberus is pretty much Team Rocket with a political motive and higher body count. Hence, handing the base over to those idiots is about as smart as letting Jessie, James, and Meowth play with anthrax and dirty bombs."

Forget that, if we get to recruit then my Shepard is going to recruit. When he gets back to the flaming remnants of our homeplanet, he'll have 1) picked up a handy shoulder-mounted "Fat Man" class nuclear launcher, 2) found Master Chief's ship and told him to save the world again, 3) bought Gordon Freeman's contract from the G-Man with all those credits from ME1, and 4) commandeered a certain Firefly-class vessel to carry him and his two badasses back to Earth.TexasToast712 wrote...

Well I support option 2.
Turns out that portal MC went through went to the ME universe and Shepard goes to find him.

Just like how you're not going to need the rachni if you killed the queen in ME1. If defeating the Reapers depended on either of those being there, they wouldn't have given us the option to destroy them.
