I doubt the rachni will be a problem. The queen did send her regards and tell us that they stand ready to help.

Anyway, it'd be nice to see how that whole shabang goes in ME3 from alliances to the C-base. I really hope there's an ending that any alignment type can get, where everyone gets exterminated, for the sake of a full, thought-out story line I suppose.

Yes she did. But she also mentioned that her race was mind controlled by Reapers previously. So logically reapers can do that again, there is no reason to not to do that again.

You know humans can be indoctrinated by Reapers. Maybe Rachni takes twice as long as Humans because they have the support of their hive to fight it? Why does everyone thing the Rachni became indoctrinated instantly? They were perfectly isolated from the galaxy, and when discovered, they were already indoctrinated. It could have taken centuries.snfonseka wrote...

True. It's so convenient to think your opinions are facts when you think you have to be right about everything.Lleuen wrote...
Why are people content with using the word "pragmatic" as a replacement for what is actually, their own personal dogma? The paragon/idealist-renegade/realist dichotomy is annoying. Save, or destroy the collector base, it doesn't matter, both have good arguements, and seeing how those choices will affect ME3 is the most important thing rather than what is ultimately "right" and "wrong". All this jazz is relative to ones opinion so... meh

For the moment the Reapers seem intent on harvesting us... Not like they have the time to wander around the universe looking for the Rachni. Hack we don't even know where the Rachni queen is hiding herself and the galaxy is quite a huge place to look for holes in the ground planet by planet.
Silly people...

Yes the IFF had safety protocols built in, that should have been expected. But after that situation was resolved, you had no problem using the IFF to go through the relay and stop the Collectors. You didnt freak out and eject it into a sun, once you understood it, it was the same as any other tool on your ship.aeetos21 wrote...
HAH! Tis true that some of my Shepards did keep the base but my mains did not at all. Reaper tech is Reaper tech, we learned that one the hardway when we mined the Collector ship for info and interfaced the Reaper Iff with the Normandy's systems. Now people are thinking that the Collector base would be an end all to all of our problems with the Reapers? Given the 0 for 2 track record I'd give that line of thought a second thought.
Reaper tech is not something to be feared, just respected. It is dangerous only because we dont know how it works yet.

ME3 will be completable by itself and without any ME1 or ME2 carryovers. Those who kept the base might see some new weapons on a ship in the cutscenes; those who saved the rachni will see rachni ships in the final assault; those who saved both will see both, and none of it will matter outside of cosmetics.
Because those people who destroyed the base, killed the rachni, blew up the geth, sent the quarians into total disarray, killed the Council, and otherwise killed every other ally they might have found in the previous games will still be able to win the day.
And that includes those who never played ME1 or ME2, as the default Shepard is a bit of an idiot that way.

Why do you present this like a bad thing ? It would be bad if you had no chance to beat the game if you picked all the renegade choices in the first game for example.

With the exception that it let to a catastrophic outcome where 100% of the crew except Joker was kidnapped and the Normandy itself was saved only because EDI was uncoupled. The entire research term on the derelict reaper was indoctrinated. Why should we expect anything different from the Collector base?

I wasn't presenting it in a bad way (not purposely, anyway).
I was just being objective in the face of all the claims in this thread. Saying something like "I hope you guys kept the base..." is like saying "I hope you guys flirted with Kelly..."
None of it will actually matter to ME3's plot or the reaper fight.
