None of it will actually matter to ME3's plot or the reaper fight.
I'm sure it'll change a few things.
Edit: I'm sure having Wrex alive would allow the Krogan to be recruited easier than with ****-that-I-never-see-in-my-game, or the Council being destroyed meaning the Aliens have more firepower. I'm sure our choices will at the very least impact how Earth will shape up to look like in the epilogue / ending.

Playing like that can't be fun. If you make a bad choice you should live with it. Not go back. Play like you don't have a safety netDa_Lion_Man wrote...

also a possibility. That really is a good point, but on the flip side we don't know if the Reapers are in that system or not. And even if they are it has been a few years since ME2. Thats years of research gained from the base before the Reapers try and take it back from us.Wildecker wrote...
If you left the Collector base in one piece, I'm pretty sure a couple of Reapers have shown up there by now. And then they'll make you wish you had blown it to pieces.

Either way, if I do any more playthroughs, regardless of track I'm going down, I'm destroying the base.

only problem with that is that during the last mission, a lot of them support preserving the base but after its over they flip flop so it could be a bug or something.twisty77 wrote...
I don't know if this has been posted yet in this thread, but I'll throw it out there anyway: if you keep the base and then talk to your squad after the suicide mission, EVERY SINGLE ONE thinks that keeping the Collector base was a bad idea. That can't be good. I don't know if this stems from their mistrust of Cerberus or if it's an indicator that Cerberus is going to do something very bad in ME3 or maybe something else...

Reaper tech under Cerberus control = comedy gold. Just ask Paul Grayson.
Still, think I'll keep the base in one of my playtroughs, just to see what happens.

They brought Shepard back to life, gave him a new and better ship, and created an anti-reaper AI that was essential to the success of the mission. Basically they came through when the galaxy needed it.ISpeakTheTruth wrote...
Cerberus who has a long long list of screw ups and multiple cells going rogue and you think that its a wise decision to turn the base and all that technology over to them?

Miranda said it herself that the mission they were on is the most successful Cerberus mission she'd ever been a part of and its because it isn't
If Shepard had died and the Alliance found him they would have brought him back because of what he meant for humanity. Cerberus just got there first..

As for the 'Should have kept the base' thing.
Should we ?
Guess what the tech that Cerberus managed to research so far was. Indoctrination.
Nice work TIM, setting your priorities straight.
They also abducted a human and a father, killing an asari and two turians in the process.
TIM is still NOT morally grey. Nevah.
They implanted that guy with Reaper indoctrination tech...
It was the right thing to do! Indoctrination will save lives!!!!1!!!
And guess what. They did screw up the project. Again.
Err..they haven't screwed up that many projects, right, right ???
I am sorry if my humour offended you, I am just trying to illustrate my point. The main argument for saving the base is the tech that it will offer. I am personally still waiting for what kind of tech people are expecting to see, but anyway... What does TIM do with it ? He researches indoctrination. Oh yes he did. I hear that he also wants to use the CB tech to the Reapers and...beyond.

im still pro cerberus but i have been wondering why he studies indoctrination so much but i assume that will be explained in evolution. Might be a Saren case were he fears he is indoctrinated.Phaedon wrote...

I don't see why he would choose this kind of process if he was afraid that he would be indoctrinated.

Just a thought, plus one of the artworks for evolution IMO seems like it implies some form of indoctrination on his part. He may have been a test subject himself.Phaedon wrote...

This is how I see keeping the base will work out. TIM will try to indoctrinate different races but then people will find out the Citadel will then be forced to fight the Reapers and TIM meaning that recources that should be devoted entirely to fighting the Reapers willl now be cut in half.
Keeping the Base = Bad bad things.
