Last thing I need is getting indoctrinated by Reaper tech hanging around

A bomb on a dead mans switch. Renegade can do exactly what Paragon did, destroy it. Plus they get the tech out of it first before destroying it.

Epic added bonus: by destroying it when the Reapers arrive to reclaim it, you would colapse the space around you into the black holes, killing several Reapers. :P

And how would this bomb be set off? You can't remote detonate it due to the location. Suiciding crew, triggered by suspected assuming of controll or timebomb? Not safe enough as reapers and collectors has hacked both Cerberus brains and tech with ease before. The only way to be sure it doesn't build more reapers is to blow it asap.

A bomb with a quantum entanglement thingy that the normandy has. unhackable. win?

Actualy it is in the middle of wars a lot of people tend to dissapear. Reaping is easier when the defenses are broken, like the invasion of London for example.

Yeah but not a bajillion people. For example, I suspect they would never be able to fill the Collector Cruiser in the middle of the war.

You underestimate the Reapers. Didn't you notice the Derelict Reaper had a large interior that could hold millions of people if needed?

Nothing is unhackable and the reapers are way better at hacking than anyone else. Besides you don't want any communications open with that base, things like that has always been used against you by reapers before. Before you suspected anything as usual.

Collectors was taking small colonies occasionaly and still was able to build thalf a reaper in a short time. If there was no way of filling the Collector cruiser, why did they bother equipping it for harvesting Earth? The mega cities of Earth has nothing that can stop the reapers from reaping all they want if we are to belive the trailer.

the current record of people "disappering" during a war is 30,000 and there still missing. And since the reapers are pretty advance its not completely unrealistic to think they wouldnt cut communication or screw it up so no one would notice.

I suspect the Cruiser was built for the eventual end, where humans would be fully indocrinated and enslaved once the "cycle" was complete.

Besides, we're not talking about the dissapearence of 10-20 thousand people. We're talking about millions.

the quantum entanglement is impossible to intercept. it not like radio. it can work anywhere in the universe and has zero delay. it doesnt matter if you are god, anything short of capturing the other end of the quantum entanglement link will get you nowhere.

the bomb would have no interface outside this link. you just watch reapers go in, you hit button, nothing comes out again.

the worst case senario is you get no kills. worst case senario is you are Paragon.

True. And with the invasion of Earth they don't even need to bother with being subtle anymore.

This doesn't stop it from transmitting false information and viruses to you. You have no idea what signs to look for. The people and machines, including bombs and quantum entanglement links, on the base is not a reliable source of information. It have never been when studying reaper tech before.

Worst case scenario is that the Normandy comes under reaper or collector controll from the link to reaper tech. It has happened before and you may not be lucky to be able to stop this time.

As long as we have fun making up some wild theories about  the game not even made yet I don't see why it should.

it is odd though because arcturus isnt that far away and a fleet could have easily been there within a week so either the fleets destroyed or the communication is cut but something is seriously wrong. Its obviously not just the reapers attacking earth IMO.

wait, why am i recieving information? I only want to transmit information, and in the event i stop transmitting information, for the bomb to go boom. why would i have the bomb recive any other information other than the dead man link? there is no way for anything on that end to effect the bomb. anything tries and it blows up.

I dont think i can make it any clearer that the bomb is unhackable and unbeatable outside an act of god rewriting the laws of physics.

it would be possible to incercept the normandy and steal that end of the link, but that is a game winner in itself. also, there is no way to track the normandy from the bomb in any way. you would have to find it on your own, and if you can do that.

also, i will put a giant red button on the side that if you press, it will blow up. just because.

Well since there is no fleet there to stop the reapers it does seem like they started with destroying the fleets. The reapers are strong and numerous enough to do that.

Dear Shep,
I still remember how you [saved/destroyed] the collector base. Because of your actions, i have been able to get you some new [tech/allies]. enjoy.

end.

Nothing is unhackable or unbeatable. Especialy not for reapers. The bomb and both sides of the link are controlled by the kind of computers and tech that has been hacked by collectors and reapers before as soon as they had a ever so small and "secure" link.
If the bombtrap doesn't send back information, how will you know if something has gone wrong?

1. you would have to touch the computer to be able to hack it. you can not touch the computer without the bomb blowing up first. thus you can not hack the computer.
2. I havent figured that out yet. figured i would just camp nearby or something. maybe hope the people on the base hit the red button first. atleast the bomb is perfectly secure. i could set up another quantum link thing that would just transmit an image to a closed circuit telivision. no ability to hack anything other than a monitor screen.

So lets say 75,000 people are needed to create a complete Reaper. 9 Million people are taken by the Reapers to the Collector Base...

120 Reapers are produced

Dear lord!

why did the millions of colonists barely make a fetus then?

Wasn't 30,000 colonists missing? How can their be millions of them established on outer rim worlds recently colonized?

Freedoms Progress had 1000000 colonists alone.
horizon had another 600000, but only halfish were taken.
there were also numerous other planets before that which prompted cerberus to get involved in the first place.

It was more than that and the 30,000 i was refering to was in real life.
