I don't see why Bioware would introduce such a cool character in an impossible situation if not to make him part of the story.  So, will he be part of a bridging DLC or will we only meet him in ME3 as we try to take back Earth?

I hope we're at least introduced to him in a DLC. Maybe he's the 2nd human Spectre!  Or at least a candidate for such given his survival in such extreme odds.

Since he states that he doesn't know anything about the invaders, not even that they're called 'Reapers', I doubt that he's spent much quality time with Shepard.

Also I wouldn't get your hopes up for any substantial bridging DLC now.

He's probably just a no-name who was only there to give us a POV on the ground for the trailer.

He didn't DO much to be deemed 'cool' in my opinion but it does beg the question if he'll be someone Shepard will come across or even a squadmate. Or it could be he is only a random nobody only used in this trailer!

This. It's unlikely he'll get off Earth.

And cool? Narrating a 1 minute trailer, getting one sniper kill, and most likely being just some random soldier automatically makes you a cool character or even someone significant?

Given all the empty "medi-gel" next to him I assume he's been there a while and doing some serious damage... or at least as much damage as he can do against a Reaper invasion.  "Spitballs" as Ash Williams called it in ME IIRC.

I don't like him. He reminds me of any of those cheap main characters from those action TV series like Jack Bauer or the new James Bond. I want him to get indoctrinated by the reapers that are sitting around him so that he attacks Shepard when he/she cames just to get killed by a headbutt from his/her bodyguard Jacob, taking heavy risk (provided that you didn't let him get head-shot at the collectors' base).

To be fair, even though I doubt he is significant, one only has to look at the trailers from the previous games. Remember the first teaser for ME2 that listed Shepard as dead and the geth wearing the piece of N7 armor? He turned out to be a squadmember...

I'm more interested to see if ME3 will allow for a Shepard to have died in the Suicide Mission or not.

Nope.  Dead Shepard = can't import.

That's been answered since ME2 came out:  you cannot import a save where Shepard dies.

Shepard is a war hero after ME 1 everyone knows his name and if you pick the War Hero background i'm pretty sure Most HUmans know his name.
